[Q]How to edit a ramdisk to run cm7? - Android

I am trying to port cm7 to the conquer 4g but it seems that I need to edit the boot.img so it can be compatible with the rom. All i would like to know is what I should edit in the folder. Also my boot.img is already rooted but what else would I need for it to boot? Thanks.

[Q] updater script

as some of you guys may know i am working on a script that will alow users to port almost any rom from skyrocket and tmob sgs2. heres the problem i am running into if push the correct files into the rom before i flash everything runs great. if i use the script that i have now it runs like ass. the problem i think im having is the updater script not installing something or setting the right permissions. heres my question is there any easy way to right a script or even and automative thing i can use to get this working?
any help is greatly appreciated
You're not talking about the updater-script in the CWM zip, right?
I don't have a ton of experience with scripting, but is the script following each step that you would have done manually?
Are you able to compare your script to the Hellraise script to see the differences? In theory, they should be somewhat similar in function, I would think.
The hellraise script for sgs2 will be different since its a program for the computer my script will just be flashed over top of a rom in cwm

[HELP] Modifying ROM doubts

Good evening,
I've written a module for my smartphone and I need to compose a rom to install on my device...
I followed some tutorials, so now I know how to build an android kernel, obtaining a zImage.
Now, a friend told me that I must make a backup with clockworkmod (done!) and download on my pc, than I can recover the boot.img from there and split them in ramdisk and kernel.
Now I can compile my new kernel and merge it (the obtained zImage?) with the ramdisk to have a new rom to flash on my device... is true?
But I don't know how I can split the boot.img (maybe with dsixda kitchen?) and how to create the new rom. I tryied som weeks ago with a .zip rom and the dsixda kitchen and I split and recomposed a rom, but files contained in the .zip files was different from files that I downloaded by my device...
Someone can explain me the correct way to do this process? Thank you!

[Q] Init.d

Where is the init.d folder under etc in our stock rom zip?? can anyone help me please.thanks in advance
Stock Roms zip are usually encrypted. You won't be able to extract any system files from it.
If you need it, your best bet is to extract it from a phone running it, or perhaps a backup made with custom recovery.
