There are more than one thread here in the forum claiming they were able to get past that very message although only Dell is supposed to be able to do it.... BUT there are claims they worked

How to unlock xperia x10 from rogers

Hello, I just buyed sony ericsson xperia x10 from rogers(canada)...but i wanna put fido sim in it......so anyone can help me to unlock my cellphone for free.....by using any method.......code or flashing........
Best Regards
SHIN
No unlock hack has been achieved yet, you will need an unlock code which generally costs money.
$6 bucks unlock for the Rogers X10a http://www.mobileincanada.com/?l=en&u=all&coupon=facebook
Don't fido sims already work in Rogers' phones and visa versa??
Nope. Rogers is Rogers, Fido is Fido. Not the same..
When i ordered it I thought Rogers own fido and may be fido sim gonna work on it.....but after doing some google i found that it should be unlocked......
I bought a Rogers LOCKED X10a recently thinking I can buy the unlock code to unlock the phone and use on AT&T. Unfortunately, all 5 places I tried who claim to unlock Rogers branded phones refunded my payment saying they could not find unlock code for my phone.
I am wondering why my phone still has no unlock code. Does it take a while to get the unlock codes to these vendors for new X10a?
I tried much unlock webstore too... and i found one who give me an Manufacturer's Code (not an operator CODE).... it match for any operator !!!
http://www.deblocage-sony.com/EN/unlocking+SonyEricsson+Xperia-X10.php
But it's very expensive : 39€ ($53.99 CAD)
I use the NCK code :
fill your target SIMcard in your X10
Fill your SIMcard PIN CODE
Fill the NCK CODE
reboot
> Your X10 must be unlocked for ever, for any provider..

+1 to this.. I am in the same boat as you are...
Tried many different places and all result with "Code not found" or "Code not available". I am waiting for the other place to get me the manufacture code and hopefully it will work. Of course.. the unlock service cost more ...

Let me know if that works. I am anyway thinking to sell the black X10a as I prefer the white version. I might as well get it unlocked before selling to get decent price.

I prefer white version myself, too...
Got my phone unlocked, but the cost of unlocking might not be able to justify when you sell it ... If you are going to sell it, either sell it locked or just keep it and use it.. OR buy a white case from deal extreme for $28USD

After I got my black X10a from rogers Canada for under $5 the code was sent to me and worked perfectly. Just search on ebay unlock by code rogers xperia x10. The seller with the red icon Rogers unlock code works every time plus if something doesn't work you covered by paypal.
Just make sure you write IMEI number correctly.

+1 from me too. Mobileincanada delivered a working code to me within an hour.
but now im nervous because of these reports. I have to send mine in to rogers and will be getting a replacement, and will have to get the new one unlocked again.
I tried all these unlockers and everyone refunded my money saying they don't have unlock code yet for my Rogers branded X10a Black.
Here are the places I tried:
MykleCell Inc.
MobileInCanada.com
www.primomobile.net
Cellunlocker.net
Swift Unlocks
I don't want to try the expensive places yet as I am receiving an unlocked X10a in white now which I prefer over black. I will wait a week or so to see if any of these $5 unlock places can find a code.
I know this is offtopic but does anyone know if unlocking voids warranty with Rogers?
I know what the reps say but I'm curious if anyone has experience with this.

[Q] Where can i buy unlock code for O2?

Anyone knows where can i buy unlock code for Dell streak O2?
It's just pathetic from those companies with their little codes can't they just sell phones without locks!
o2 will give you an unlock code for nothing by all accounts.
I tried to ask o2 for a code and they didn't gave it to me, because I am not an O2 customer!!! And the problem is I can;t find the guy i bought the phone!
Ah, well I suppose a rebel sim would be your next best bet then?
I tried O2 but they said there was another 6 months till they would provide me with the code. So i bought the rebel sim and it works like a charm. The only drawback is you have to use 2.1 as it doesnt support 2.2 yet. Apart from that its well worth it.

DJ Steve's 1.5.1 (2.2 Froyo) works like a charm with rebelsim & 1.2 firmware. The only thing you will have to do is to flash the old 2.1 baseband. No need to flash your rebelsim with buggy 1.3beta firmware (been there done that - when you travel and change cells signal is lost forever).

will try to flash my phone to steve's 1.5.1 (for the fist time flashing) and see how it is
*just flashed, confirm 3G and phone function works on DJ Steve's 1.5.1 with my Optus network + rebel sim 1.2
Get yourself a £5 pay & go, o2 sim register it, then get 02 to unlatch it. It'll be a lot cheaper than paying a third party.
Try these guys http://dellstreakunlock.com/ I called early afternoon on bank holiday Monday and dropped the phone off later that afternoon (in Salford) 10 mins later I had an unlocked Streak, this is now currently running 2.2 fully inlocked full data connection etc etc.

Hi it was O2
Actually, you can get your unlock code from O2 even if you're not an existing customer. I did! As did quite a few people over at Modaco. Just mail them and tell them that you're travelling soon or are currently abroad and don't have an O2 SIM, etc. etc. You may need to send multiple emails, but you will eventually get your unlock code.

Unlocking Orange UK Lumia 800...

Hi all!
My friend was bought a Lumia 800 for Christmas, but its locked to Orange and he does not have an Orange sim.
I have had a look on a few sites stating they can unlock it, but 2 have failed to do so so far!
And having to wait a week+ each time to see if its worked is just getting on my tits!
Anyone know of a place I can get an actual working unlock code
Cheers

Check ##782# in the dialer and it will tell you if it's definitely sim locked or not.
Get him to contact Orange and request them to unlock it. Maybe say you're going on holiday somewhere for a month...
This site could unlock it.
As it is early days it is expensive to unlock it due to certain technical restrictions. See this thread for an explanation and more discussion on sim unlocking.
Will check if its locked in a min, but im pretty sure it is.
Will try orange if the current unlocker i have orderd from does not deliver the code today!
I have tried UnlockLiberty.com and currently trying unlockitnow.com!
I expect it to be expensive to be honest but as long as we can actually get it unlocked in the first place would be a start
Cheers matey

Orange can unlock it as long as you know the original mobile number that it came with. It will take upto 30 days and cost £20.42p. So if you can get it done elsewhere it'll be quicker and cheaper.

It's a small circuit board that sits between the SIM and the phone, they generally cost a couple of quid, and somehow do work.

Well i have orderd a GEVEY TURBO SIM adapter to see if it will also work in our Nokia.
They do say for all versions of iPhone, but i cant see why it wont work in the Nokia...
Worth a shot anyway! haha
the reason no one is getting unlock codes from the suppliers mentioned for lumia on orange or tmobile uk is because the lumia is actually locked to a new hybrid orange/tmobile mcc+mnc network.
phones locked to this network are not locked to tmobile or orange, they are actually locked to both networks, try both sims and you will see for yourself, that the phone will take sims from both networks, but not any other.
T-Mobile and Orange UK have merged recently.
They have started locking newer NOKIA handsets to a new MERGED network MNC+MCC
NEW T-Mobile / Orange UK Merge Lock uses MNC+MCC = 2343300190233141
Older Standard Orange UK uses MNC+MCC = 2343300000000000
Older Standard T-Mobile UK uses MNC+MCC = 2343000000000000
*
Known models with hybrid lock
Nokia Lumia 700 locked to UK Orange or UK T-Mobile
Nokia Lumia 710 locked to UK Orange or UK T-Mobile
Nokia Lumia 800 locked to UK Orange or UK T-Mobile
Nokia E7-00 locked to UK Orange or UK T-Mobile
*
What About Other Nokia Models?
There will be more models released soon that will require this service too.*
Remember these are newer Nokia handsets, you wont need it for older models.
*
How to Check if Other Nokia is Locked To This New Network.
There are 2 ways to check orange and tmobile nokia handsets. to see if they are truly locked to the new orange/t-mobile uk network or are actually locked to the standard Orange UK or standard T-Mobile UK networks
*
Method 1.
Try both a t-mobile sim and an orange sim in the nokia phone
if the phone accepts BOTH SIMS = locked to new T-Mobile/Orange hybrid network
if only the orange sim works = locked to Orange UK network
if only the t-mobile sim works = locked to T-Mobile UK network
*
Method 2.
Read phone info using usb cable and this software
(software requires nokia pc suite installed first for drivers, full video guide @ the bottom of this page: http://www.imeicodes.co.uk/instruction/nokia.php)
If it displays config key 2343300190233141 = locked to new T-Mobile/Orange hybrid network*
If it displays config key 2343300000000000 = locked to Orange UK network
If it displays config key 2343000000000000 = locked to T-Mobile UK network
Which begs the question, are there actually any solutions yet? If we can't get unlock codes off Orange nor T-Mobile, as the 800 is locked to both, who do we get the codes off?
Ive tried sim-unlock.net and unlockdata.co.uk with no success. anyone else have other places to order from?
fonefun, thanks for the update on the carrier situation.
Does this mean that the database is only accessable by T-Mobile and Orange at the minute or do unlocking sites have access to the algorithm/codes too?

we have tested around 12 imeis before we put the service live. so yes you will start to see this service on other codes site as our resellers catchup to speed on this very new service.
the service is online already for single code buyers for the tmobile/orange hybrid network locked nokia handsets on the imeicodes website mentioned earlier in this thread. they take about a week to process at the moment. look for the "Special T-Mobile UK / Orange UK Nokia Unlock Codes" service on the prices page
Hi Fonefun,
Got a Lumia 800 from e-bay not sure if Orange or the hybrid network.
I can't seem to get the Nokia BB5 usb utility to read the phone config key. I tried the 2.5 version too.
The lumia doesn't use the nokia suite but Zune. I installed both with no success. I tried on both a Win7 and Win XP machine. The phone is recognised in Zune but not the utility.
Any advice would be welcome.
Jon
all lumia on orange or tmobile are hybrid
you wont be able to read the lock area using that software, because the lumia is different and cant be read by anything at the moment.
we read an e7-00 ok though with it, this is how we discovered the hybrid. after trying 2 sims in the e7-00 we confirmed this was the case.
so we got the lumias and tried orange and tmobile sims in them, and yes both worked, but any other sim did not, so we sumarised that the lumias are also locked to the hybrid network, we got the new hybrid codes for them and unlocked them, we tried on 800 lumia, our sources tell us all lumia are the same lock types for tmobile and orange also.
we put the link on for the code reading software to enable people to check newish handsets too because we simply dont have the handsets to try ourselves, so there may be more...

Carrier Unlocking The Galaxy Note SGH-i717

HI, I just wanting to throw something out there...I was looking at some different sites about unlocking the galaxy note...and I was also checking the reviews for the sites too(can never be too careful).. and I ended up picking cellunlock.net and going with that one...the unlock was 39.99 but after using the promo code I searched in google (android50) it brought it to 19.99..well while I was waitng on the unlock email I stuck my sim card from tmobile usa in there and come to find out it was already unlocked...well I still got a unlock code in my email about 12 hours later but never tried it cuz there was no reason too...well since then I got a new note ( a white one).. and it was not already unlocked...believe I checked haha...but I checked reviews again and there were several saying that the never got a code..and several saying that the codes they sent were fake...but I really needed the note unlocked and at&T wasn't helping..so I went for it anyway...I got the unlock code in my email about 28 hours later and I tried it and it luckily worked!...now that was about 4 hours out of the time frame that they gave me...but it worked...so I just thought Idf let people know my experience...but try at your own risk!
at&t has been giving out the unlock codes for free.
I dunno if the sale is still on, but I got my code from unlockthatphone.com for about $14.

You weren't kidding. Called and said I wanted to use the phone overseas and gave them the imei number and a minute later she had the unlock code for me. Nice!!
Same for me - I got the unlock code straightaway on a web chat with AT&T. The site says something about a limit on the number of unlocks one can obtain on an account, I think it was something like 5 per year.
I don't see why they would give you a hard time unless you're unlocking a bunch of phones on your account.
Same for me, I used the AT&T International Support web chat and they gave me the code right away. Too bad you need a non-AT&T SIM to actually use it.

[Q] AT&T ASUS Padfone X Mini unlock

Hello everyone, gave this phone, but I do not use AT & T. Advise how and where can unlock the phone.
In order to get AT&T to unlock this phone you must maintain 6 months of GoPhone service on it. Then unlocking is handled via a request on their website.
Other methods are, the phone is in Russia.
Other methods of what? Unlocking?
Yes, another mode of unlock.
i just called them up and put in a unlock ticket as a non att mobility customer, and a few days later i had my unlock code.
Sent from my ASUS PadFone X mini using XDA Free mobile app
This was my experience yesterday...
What I was told by the at&t customer support rep I called yesterday was that the phone is sold unlocked, but it comes with it's own GoPhone SIM card. According to her if you install that GoPhone card and activate it through the phone or even activate it online it will "SIM-LOCK" to your phone's IMEI number. That means if you activate the SIM card that comes with the phone then you lock your padfone to at&t for 6 months before you can request an unlock via the web form on their site. She then told me to instead simply take the SIM card to my local at&t store and swap it with a postpaid one. The representative then said that they could not have legally sold me a phone that was locked. Since none of this sounded like it was exactly correct or that either one knew for sure I went to the at&t store after I got off the phone. The woman I talked to there said she would take care of the SIM card, but looked confused when I was talking about it being unlocked and just nodded her head like she agreed. She tossed my GoPhone SIM and gave me a postpaid one. I had her activate it and pick out a number. That way if it turns out that it is not unlocked I'll have more ammo to get it refunded and cancelled. I will be stopping back by the store this afternoon to have someone verify everything because I really don't believe that it isn't sold already locked. An article in prepaidphonenews.com also suggested it was the GoPhone SIM, but it did not state anything besides to switch it out for a postpaid one at the store. I will post what I find out as soon as I can.
the rep lied to you. the phone comes locked from the factory. gophonephones work on any at&t mnvo (cricket, etc) and postpaid out of the box. i seemed to get lucky requesting my unlock by calling customer service because my padfone x minis imei wouldnt come up on the device unlock request website.
But the phones definently locked out of the box regardless of what sim is initially put in first.

What happens when you use the unlock code? You need to have a working non-AT&T SIM card installed in the device or it won't work.

The same situation, at&t have sent the code, but it does not fit, when typing writes the wrong code
Buck this Duck!
I got it taken care of by simply calling att and had the unlock code in about 10min. I gotta admit i worked for Bellsouth doing internal tech support for years so i knew what to say and what department to ask for. That experience with the company did have something to do with my results from a phone call. Whats funny and interesting is after that my request from the ATT website went through and i was sent a different code completely .. I thought it was device specific? So yes i can verify this as being fishy and a mystery to me as to if the IMEI was needed at all. Is it a ruse?
Perhaps its a bot that that handles the request from the site?
This is interesting so anyone please if you had a similar experience please post about it. So we can nail down this bootloader. I use mine as a stereo/map in my car and the phone as a emergency SIP device (plus i use the same towers so if my regular phone has any issues i have a quick backup). Plus i just like this phone once i got it bloat free it was actually serviceable!
Is there a functional rom link left please that would be awesome! Thanks a lot...
