Anyone can tell me the kernel base address for the optimus one??
Hi guys, i want to make a custom rom base on stock/cyanogenmod.
But i am undecided because:
If is true that roms based on cyanogemod 7 uses more battery, i want to make a rom based on a stock firmware with the CF-Root kernel.
So the only app i know to create a rom is the xda-AndroidKitchen.
But i need a guide o a tip to start. Someone can help me?
Thanks. I realy need help please.
Last attempt with a stock firmware have failed because boot.img was too big.
(boot.img can't be more than 5mb right?)
Boot.img < 4MB
Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.
Ok Thanks.
Now i need a guide or some tips.
And an answer about the battery question.

try to use the themythics or themythks2 as base has cf root
SGSII styled rom
for galaxy ace
made by Robinandroid
battery problem would persist as far as you use CM as base rom..
and if you are not making kernel from yourself then you wont have problem with it anyway
So only if i modify the kernel the battery can last less. right?
So What do you recommend me??

well don't touch kernel parts as you are using cf-root for kernel
stuffs you can do-->
clean useless stuffs
apply some existing tweaks
make your own tweaks if you can make
theme it by your own as most market themes are used by most users
include some apps [not warez]
and some more thingsssss you can think of

Ah and please help my with android kitchen.
I want to create a cust rom but with the speed of the cyanogenmod. Because stock roms are slow.
Plese help my, i realy need help!!
Anyway the boot.img of a firmware smasung is 8MB!!!!!! So why CWM can install only boot.img < 4MB???
Please I have tryed again, error status 7. Boot img too big. But i use the boot.img of the samsung firmware!!! What boot.img i have to use. That's very stupid....
-.- Please answer to me!!!... I can create it only today because tomorrow i'll be in mountain.
i think the previos poster wanted to say that you have to write the boot.img simply and clean... so that you dont need the 8mb
if you want more batterylife just delete the unused commands in the kernel and/or undervolt the cpu... i dont know it the ace like undervolting but it is a good option to save batteryjuice

about kitchen you can try it..
you can't change battery consumption of cm7 [if it was possible would have been implemented so far]
why ?? don't know
at the end you don't need to modify boot.img of ketut as you are using them directly..
if you are making kernel by yourself then only you need to care about packaging boot.img
If you're making a custom stock , use CF-ROOT's boot.img .
If you're making CM7 , use CM7's boot.img .
Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.
Oh thanks Now i'll use android kitchen with cf-root.
Now i need some tips.
I want to use 2.3.5. I have the firmware and i can open it with 7-zip.
What files i need to extract and use? Only system.rfs?

There aren't many kernels, so another one you could use is official cm9 kernel, inlcuded in official cm9 rom zip here.
I don't think you can use other kernels like official cm9 kernel or the one by fxp, could be that I'm wrong, so please correct me
Oh I didn't know it was included. It's the boot.img at the root of the zip ?

Yes it is, just take it from there
ok so now i have ka sspeed on my sxs and i am thinking of going back to cm9 (sure as hell i aint going back to stock)
the question is : do i have to flash a kernel again if i am using this method?
http://www.androidauthority.com/xperia-s-lt26i-android-4-0-4-ics-cyanogenmod-9-1-cm9-1-rom-112412/
if yes do how do i flash a kernel? now i know i flash roms by connecting via fastboot then fastboot -i 0x0fce flash boot recovery-nozomi.ini then reboot and i install from the cwm menu... but when i want to flash a kernel and i do the same things it seems that the command -i 0x0fce etc deletes the rom i flashed in cwm.. i tried once flashing gapps this way and discovered after flashing gapps that the rom is gone.. am i missing something? i can assure u and myself that im still a noob so please treat me like a baby who needs candy! btw this problem faces me whenever i wanna flash mods or anything so i really need to understand what im doing wrong here! thanks in advance for everyone who WILL NOT ignore me !
oh and one last question... should the rom be flashed first or the kernel?
just download the cm9 rom from the development section,
then flash the rom via recovery ( it doesnt matter what kernel are you in.)
flash the gapps
then flash the kernel (cm kernel included in the package).

i want to replace some stock files (camera, music player, video editor...) and add the stock ones. how about i rename walkman.apk to apollo.apk? will it work? or semccamera.apk to camera.apk..

i respectfully disagree.. the only reason i was changing to cm is to show my friend how it looks like before installing it on his phone from stock.. i think ka rom is recently the best rom for sxs,, with the tweaks that happened in 17 and 18 its almost perfect.. plus the fcs and ther bugs are fixed hy the developer so i dont think there is anything wrong... come on he supports his rom more than sony does to theirs
anyway if u want help with installing check his guide and i can help with my modest knowledge if u need anything u can ask me!

if you install a ROM without flahear the kernel of this ROM, the more likely a mistake, by incompatibility
I recommend you flash from flashtool using fastboot mode, but here I leave another alternative if you must install the kernel since smartphone.

Always at your own risk

i guess you wanna install this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2528466&page=124
kernel is inside the zip so follow this steps !
Instructions:
First time flashing CyanogenMod 11 your device, or coming from another ROM?
1 Download the zip(s).
2 Optional: adb backup
3 Boot into recovery
4 Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
5 Full wipe[data, cache, format system].
6 Flash CyanogenMod Rom Zip.
7 Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.
8 Reboot.

Asking the wrong questions won't get you any meanigful help at best, and bad advise at worst.
Give details on what rom you are trying to install, exactly what steps you make to install it, is your bootloader unlocked etc.

when you have a kernel X, and install a new ROM that has a Kernel Y you will have two problems.
1.- you miss status 7
2.-or are you stuck in the logo
Here you have the latest kernel for CM 11 by @New Maclaw
Kernel by Maclaw 20131213
uses the kernel with flashtool in fastboot mode
Thanks
