Other Options
Browser User Agent:
Now available from within the stock browser is the ability to set your preferred user agent e.g. desktop so that you no longer have to visit mobile sites before you can request the desktop version.
Accessible via: Browser -> Settings -> Advanced -> User agent
Kernel:
The kernel being used in Slim Bean is now a compiled version of Fluxi XX.03 (non S2W) and in order to control individual kernel settings such as BLN and CPU/votages it's recommended to download and use xxTweaker. You can also use other apps such as Voltage Control, Set CPU, NSTools or similar but xxTweaker was written by myfluxi himself.
For the latest version of xxTweaker get it from: fluxi-xxTweaker-0.4.0_beta1.apk
Camera:
New options have been added to the camera menu similar to those available in Slim ICS. When you start up the camera, press on the settings icon followed by the 3 dot menu icon and you will now see:

Power shutter: Take the photo with the power button
Focus mode: Choose between Face detect/Fixed/Macro/Infinity/Auto
Timer mode: Allows you to set a timer before the picture is taken
Burst mode: Allows you to take multiple photo's per shutter press (5/10/15/20)
Ignore the colours in screenshots Airdroid messed them up.
Other useful information: Links, anomalies (aka not known bugs) and anything else
Changelogs of work in progress is contained at the website below. Please make sure you read known issues before submitting bug reports
http://slimroms.net
- Other anomalies found and reported: I will add to this list so we can keep track
Some pop up selections give random text as the headers, cancel button is tiny and ok button is replaced with "Pressing the volume rocker up/down will wake the device". This has so far been seen when setting custom carrier label and setting slider shortcuts Fixed in 2.3
Phone answer slider isn't centred for below 240dpi: krarvind is currently looking for a better fix for this so it's currently off centre if you're using below 240dpi Fixed in 2.4
Stock kernel - Unable to change USB computer connection from storage menu (MTP/PTP/UMS) as always reverts straight back to MTP
Camera/Gallery - Power shutter causes FC Fixed in 2.5
- Miscellaneous
For those that don't know camera is merged with gallery in Jellybean so any reference to gallery2 or gallerygoogle also refers to camera
Gallerygoogle.apk which gives 3MP but allows for Picasa sync has now been moved to the OTA app
For themers: power widget in notification dropdown now uses different naming so old mods won't work e.g. stat_2g3g_off.png, stat_2g3g_on.png etc
Thank You Krarvind. Been waiting for this
Great news!
Thanks for your contributions.
Short Version of this Post: On my phone, a selection of benchmarking apps give scores indicating SlimJB is 2% faster than SlimICS.
====================================================
Long Version of this post:
So I bit the bullet, and installed JB in dualboot, along side with SlimICS 4.2
(If you want to see how you can set up Dualboot yourself, check out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26730445&postcount=1 )
My First impressions are that SlimJB is very fluid. After initial setup, have had no problems. (Apart from the standard ones, camera, etc)
I havent had time to do any extensive testing, but I have run some benchmarks, so I can have an idea of differences (if any) between the two roms, running on MY phone.
I know that no amount of benchmarking can account for real world usage, everybodies mileage varies, everybodies phone is different, some benchmarking apps havent yet been tweaked for JB's CPU usage (because of the higher UI priority), and that the answer to the universe is 42.
I'm just posting this info here in case someone is curious about this.
I'm not telling anyone to use SlimICS, SlimJB or to DualBoot their phones.
My Current setup is:
Made full backup in CWM, also backed up EFS, copied up to PC
1st boot slot: SlimICS 4.2 + common, after wiping EVERYTHING. Kernel: Siyah 4.0.1
2nd boot slot: SlimJB 2.1 + common, after wiping 2nd rom data/cache.
Upon first boot in both roms, I only installed the benchmarking apps from the apk's I have on my ExternalSD, and made sure stuff like rotation, etc were all disabled, and that airplane mode was enabled.
I rebooted the phone before each benchmark, and waited 2 minutes before unlocking the phone and running the app. I noted the results, closed the app, ran it again, and averaged the two scores, rounding to closest integer.
I did this first for SlimICS, then for JB.
Since both roms are "stock" with no changes, I am using standard as-is configurations.
RESULTS:
Quadrant Standard 2.1.1:
ICS: Total-3283; CPU-5637; Mem-2116; I/O-6145; 2D-606; 3d-1912
JB: Total-2108; CPU-3514; Mem-1257; I/O-3898; 2D-330; 3d-1539
ICS=100% /// JB=64%
CF-Bench 1.2:
ICS: Overall Score-5925; Java Score-3061; Native Score-10221
JB: Overall Score-5123; Java Score-2451; Native Score-9131
ICS=100% /// JB=86%
GLBenchmark 2.5:
ICS: Fill Test-358915328; Egypt Classic-6703 frames, 59fps
JB: Fill Test-365721504; Egypt Classic-6732 frames, 60fps
ICS=100% /// JB=102%
RealPi, to 10.000.000 digits:
ICS: 745 secs
JB: 741secs
ICS=100% /// JB=101%
Antutu 2.9.1:
ICS: Total-5393; CPU-2372; RAM-936; GPU-1481; I/O-602
JB: Total-5499; CPU-2642; RAM-1035; GPU-1462; I/O-360
ICS=100% /// JB=102%
Averaging all the percentage differences gives an overall score of SlimICS=100%, SlimJB=91%
Although, I do know that Antutu, Realpi and GLBenchmark have actually taken into account the CPU differences in JB, I will only regard those results as final, which gives SlimICS=100%, SlimJB=102%
And now I'll be testing other stuff over the next week or two. I'll only report back if I find something that really bugs me.
Keep up the good work, guys!!!
Have been a long time lurker on slim ICS since 3.4. Hoping to play more active role with slim bean. Excellent work its hugely appreciated.

This? "IMEI warning added, if it pops up it doesn't mean you lost IMEI on flashing 2.1, could be the first time you are notified."

Welcome back cougar
Looks mighty ambitious! How bout them screenies?!
Welcome back cougar...loved your CM7 build from a while ago!
Build is really good and the options are plentiful, almost too much...it's crazy!
Will be a go to rom for sure, the only stable working cm7 rom for me was your last build so great work again.
Couple items,
Settings/Additional system updates FC
Camera viewfinder is sideways but pics are normal
Some lockscreens still have Chinese text
Thanks! back to PA for now but will be back when I need "stability" in a rom!
Does it have the WiFi problems the basic CM7 has? Sounds awesome, with all the customizations (I really want to be able to change colors on the status bar to match my icons) but I really hate having to disable WiFi, enable Airplane mode, enable WiFi, disable Airplane, just to get on WiFi (and this is with the "Never" setting on WiFi sleep policy in Advanced!).
I see you said "Kickstand functioning is off". Does that mean the kickstand doesn't launch Alarm Clock? Or disabling this daft feature is unavailable? One thing stock MotoBlur got right was asking you what you wanted to do when the kickstand was activated. Personally I just want to use it as a prop, not do anything in Android via software. (Love my Otterbox Defender.)
Looking forward to trying this out...
how about this rom for locked devices? or it's impossible?
[more simple version for locked mb?]
This thing's so unstable and wild. I like it. Needs work, but I like it.
Don't really care for the ICS button bar along the bottom. It's squeezed, doesn't look right, and doesn't add anything. Disabling it disabled my status bar. Reboot sorted it completely (ICS buttons gone, status bar remains).
What's Navigator (from the power menu)? Doesn't seem to do anything.
Settings menu, with the categories along the top? Not really feeling it.
ADW.Launcher... Feels too much like Android 2.x. You're trying to integrate ideas from Android 4.x, you should look into bundling Holo Launcher instead. It will make the phone feel like Android 4.x. If that's what you're going for.
You know your ROM/launcher doesn't come with a dock? I knew something was off. That's it. No dock. Completely threw me off.
Info BMKG. Bunch of foreign stuff. I see it's weather for foreign countries only. Interesting. But you can probably leave this one out.
I like the stopwatch. Simple and effective.
Oh, almost forgot. Notification (pull-down menu) is too narrow. You can see the home screen off either side.
I like all the options. Kind of getting lost in all the choices. Had to reboot a couple times to get the status bar back. And good job with the boot animation chooser. I change mine manually every time (to the new Stargate-inspired CyanogenMod one... it's for CM10 but doesn't specify a version).
For now I'm going back to CM7 (I want all my installed apps, haha) but I'm making a Nandroid of this (like a save file, haha) so I can come back to it later. I love how with the TWRP recovery you can name your backups... Good for flashing a bunch of ROMs.
Anyway, it's a good first version! Keep up the good work.
does anyone know if this has HDMI working?
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
yeah that's what im wondering if hdmi output is working properly in landscape. last time i used the latest cyanogen mod build it only works as if i was holding the phone upright. would so be using cm if it wasn't for this one thing. every now and then i like to watch video or play games on my tv. hopefully it can be fixxed on cm its like one of the only problems ive noticed comming from a blur based rom..oh and no webtop but i don't mind giving that up
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2
Landscape hdmi and audio was working on my CM7 build, and this has the same options. I'll test it out tomorrow.
ill be trying this build in the morning when i get off work. looks like it could be a great new daily rom. im glad someone is working on a 2.3 rom. jb still has shortcomings that keep me from using it as a daily.
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2
hdmi output works in landscape just tested. cybik's cyanogenmod would only output hdmi with two black bars on the side "not full screen" ill be using this as my daily from now on.
I tried to install jokers 1.4 kernel and it went nuts
Just an fyi for anyone that is looking to change kernels, Oleg's causes bootloops also. Good ROM cougar, only issues I have so far is words with friends force closes a lot and flash videos play all scrambled up.
I'll work on an overclock kernel. I'll have a look at why the other cm7 kernels are not working. I think to use jokers or oleg's, you need to swap out my ramdisk.
Need a Bluetooth fix not cutting on?

I'm still in the fixing and tweaking phase. We have moved to using CM's RIL and I need to see what or if there are any differences with the one from AOSP. Besides the G1, there were no Nexus devices from HTC, and being my telephony is from aosp source we probably could benefit from some HTC added love in there.

I'm a little overly critical and didn't want to put anything out that had major issues.

I helped beta test...can I haz cookie?
Going to re-flash this soon, it is smoother to me than stock AOKP. Love that you can do stuff like zipalign apps and fix permissions on every boot from within the ROM preferences.
Congrats! Glad to see something NEW for us!

Headphones not working
Rom has been great headphones aren't working when Plugged-in. Any idea why or how to fix it or work around it? Sound just comes out of speaker.

If data is not working yet, you may have to backup apn settings on a rom that has data working and restore it. Unless you know how to set it for vzw. Until it's fixed, I'm pretty sure that's the issue because I had the same problem on another rom.

I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by Scotthart.bti. This is a build composed off of the CM11 builds and Scott has added alot of features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also Derteufels build and have been modified to work with my current setup. A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!
I plan on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

And enable the volume wake feature in cm. (Check a thread of mine on how to do it).
And you won't be missing the TB wake that much.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
I have curious about it
From what I read, is the property of CM but improvements are added perzonalización.
I like what I read, but could you add some screenshots?
I do not want to do the entire process of backup, downloads and stuff that no rom then assaulted me ...
Well, anyway, thank you very much for being back, TommyParker
Besides what I said earlier with torchlight don't work with screen off... :
High power torch (in power widget or app only) doesn't work - it' turning off after 1 second
Lock screen>>Widgets>Clock widget= force close settings
I can't made Slider torch to work...
Cannot find these settings:
- Dual Pane options
- Customizable boot animation (off, default, set your own bootanimation)
- .... Also includes battery bar
- Kill app back button with customizable timeout values
- Clock widget for LockClock including extra options to fully customize every feature of the lockclock (maybe is that setting which FC)
And doesn't automatically restore the apps from Google
Other than that the rest seem all right...
Apart from these, if you could implement trackball wake and trackball answer/hang up feature would be great!
Keeping testing...
Thanks!
Thank you very much, to prove

Come back with completions....
- Video recording didn´t work (it's showing that filming but doesn´t save)
- Active display don´t work properly: the lock ring overlaps with clock and it's hard to read the event
- Battery draining a little faster than usually
Questions... Which M2SD setting are the best for our N1?

For m2sd I just select dalvik cache because the Nexus One isn't my primary phone therefore I don't need much space. If you have a Class 6+ SD card you can select data if you need extra space. I don't think active display works properly on low resolution devices. I had the same issue with my Infuse.

FAQ and Know issues:
when probam in black turn on , the systemui make force close
try to switch off black ui then restart and try enable it again
after dirty flash the device hangs and systemui make force close
you need to make wipe all and clean cache and make fresh install in this case
when try video recoding the device freeze or slow down
screen video record with ondemand or pegasusq governors u will have a laggy recorded video. If you try with performance governor from performance in settings , then the video will be a lot smoother.
Camera crashing some times and not works anymore "camera not connected"
the rom included an small application "camera restart" you can use it for fix this issue
titanium recovery not restore my applications
For those who cannot find their previous files, because CM based rom will target the sdcard storage to use root/0/ directory.
So normally all the files besides the root/0/ directory will not be shown on the file explorer.
To solve this, you will need a file browser that has ROOT capability, eg. Root Explorer
then go to mnt/shell/emulated/ all your file should be here.
Now move all the files into mnt/shell/emulated/0/ folder.
Should solve the problem.
Privacy guard IS working?
after enabling privacy guard in security settings
you have to switch to settings>apps and then choose to enable or disable each app individually.
I'm sure nobody would want to tick every single app, that would almost be the same as enabling airplane mode.
General Questions:
Need to install Gapps ?
yes
"Wipe needed before install ProBam?"
If you come from a different Rom :
FULL WIPE/CACHE/DALVIK CACHE/SYSTEM/DATA
"How do I edit custom toggles?" :
Go into Settings/Custom tiles.
What kernel does this ROM use?
CM kernel - supercharged!
Which launcher(s) are included in ProBAM?
Google launcher
Which equalizer(s) is included in ProBAM?
DSP with Stereo effects
Does this ROM with kernel supports UMS? (USB Mass Storage)
Yes

thanks for that and give me a review if you like
this is my first build for togari so want to know how it performs
Thanks for this. I have tried PAC-ROM and AOKP and CM on this phone few months ago and I didn't feel like it was well customized to this device. (ie: Dpi, Keyboard size, plenty of bugs, camera very very long to open on first launch after reboot.)
By the way, is the camera issue I just talked about fixed? If so, I might give it a try
Thanks

True you can't really answer those questions since you don't own the device yourself ^^
Alright, I am downloading it. I am from stock latest sony 4.4.2. Will I need to change something in the radio to keep signal?
Thanks
Thank you very much!

no, just make sure your on latest cwm or twrp
i flashed this rom and was wanting to reflash with a different gapps package but wondering how to get into recovery mode - it is not the same as cm11 and carbon where you press the volume up during reboot ?

Alright, just installed.
First impressions :
- Smooth and fast
- Small error in launcher at first boot : Browser icon is behind the drawer icon.
- Most features (if not all) seems to work fine
- A lot of pretty features!
- Camera still slow or sometimes doesn't even start (require reboot)
- Navigation Bar buttons too spaced (CM doesn't have this problem)
Your ROM is awesome but there is something that I dislike : The new "Recent apps panel". I am used to the traditionnal panel and this is a too big move for me. Is there a way to set the default one?
Edit : Second Impression
- No way to go in recovery (tried volume buttons at boot and the reboot menu inside the rom)
- There is no logo before the boot animation. It makes the user think the phone is not even turned on before seeing the boot animation.
- Google apps are not showing even after if I did install at the sametime as the rom (after rom of course). This could just be an error on my side thought.
Thanks you for this ROM. In the mean time, until those issues get fixed, I will try other roms

Try the cm-11 kernel (Carbon thread) or the PimpedKernel port. I dont know if they will boot 4.4.3, but I'm building Carbon as I type so there will be a cm-11 4.4.3 kernel soon from me id the OP doesn't post one with working recovery.
Good to see more ROMs
