Hi,:crying:
Which files are required for the Android SDK Support Library? I have, among others, "android-support-4.0.jar" on my system. Thing is, I have been trying to install files from the Repository but I am having issues with connecting to it so I took the manual installation method where I locate the necessary files and place them in the right folders. So anyone who can help with the files I need for library support so I can start my android projects in Eclipse Helios. Kindly check the attachment to see a screenshot of what my SDK manager currently recognizes.
Many Thanks

I have managed to compile (from source) and install CM7.2 on my HTC dream, but my questions below are related to Android:
1. Is there a way to find out which packages (.apk) were installed on my system and if so, how do I do that?
2. Is there a way to find out each package dependencies (I need to figure out this as I am bent on removing the vast amount of guff installed on the phone - I won't need 90% of this stuff)?
3. Similarly to 2 above - is there a way to look at dependencies of a package not yet installed on my system (i.e. the .apk file)?
4. How do I actually remove a package for good from the system?
5. Similarly to 3 above, how do I actually install a package from within the root system - I know I can do this via adb, but is there a way to do this inside the, say, command line terminal?
6. Is there a way to alter (understand remove) certain program permissions which I could see "granted" to a particular program/package? I know there are various ways to look at these, but I wish to remove permissions I am not happy being granted to that particular program/package.
And one last a bit more advanced query: I would like to build a single package from the source tree and then install the resulting .apk file on my system.
Basically, I will try to upgrade a package with a new revision and add a few patches to the package source of my own before compiling it and building it again.
I usually build the whole lot (all packages + the rootfs image itself) with "mke bacon", but if I want to alter the source and build a single package how do I do that?
I am not very familiar with the Android make system, so I don't want to go heads-first into something and make a real mess of it.
Thanks a lot for any assistance given.
IF POSTED IN WING AREA JUST TELL ME AND BE NICE DON'T BE A DOUCHE.NOWHERE ELSE HAVE I GOTTEN HELP been trying to install over a month now. i want to try to get started looking at things and learn Android and then to start working on unlocking bootloader or work around to glass ics and diff kernals to my motorola electrify(photon)

What, seems to be the problem? You can't get eclipse, or the sdk to install..? Or is linking eclipse to sdk the problem? Or environment path variable? Need a tad more information :]
That's easy:
Download the latest versions of Eclipse Classic (don't download the Java Dev version!!!) and Android SDK. Don't use installers, ALWAYS use the zipped binaries.
Unzip the binaries in any folder, it doesn't mater. Open SDK Manager (at Android SDK folder) and download the packets for the version that you desire to develop. I recommend you download the packets for Froyo, since your apps will be compatible with Froyo or any upper version.
Open Eclipse, and install ADT Plugin, as described here.
Go to Window >Preferences >Android, and type the location of Android SDK folder.
And... that's all, dude. You're ready to rock
thank you. i will try again in the morning when i have to get ready four work. i keep getting where you have to install or whatever the android sdk to eclipse (classic 3.7.2)...

Hmm... the key thing is to have the latest version of SDK Tools (a packet that can be downloaded from SDK Manager).
I have been trying to import the android source into Eclipse (the entire root directory along with all of the files and subdirectories) as a single project as specified here in the AOSP documentation: http://source.android.com/source/using-eclipse.html
No matter what I do though, I end up with hundreds, if not thousands of errors. I have the latest Android SDK, have tried to set the build path to use either Android 4.2 AOSP APIs or Google SDK 4.2 APIs to no avail. I have also tried importing it as an Android Project and a standard Java project. I have followed all instructions for setting up the build environment correctly and checked to make sure it builds correctly using make.
I have tried to remove the sample code packages but am met with the same result.
I usually make changes directly to the file in a simple text editor like gedit but I wanted to use Eclipse to do error checking and validation.
Anyone know how to successfully get and build the android source in Eclipse? ANY help is greatly appreciated.
P.S
I am using Mint 64bit and Eclipse Juno
My first question would be, are you able to create a new Android application project that compiles successfully?
I have a vmedia vstik (similar to vmedia vbox) that is running android with custom overlay/launcher.
I love that launcher very much and would love to install it on android in my car. I thought it would be as simple as copying apk and installing it, but it isn't. When I try that, I get a message that apk can't be installed. What would be a proper way?
I have checked running processes and found main apk file, but it must depend on some other apk files or libraries.
Here is the apk https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_nn7EWQVqpIMFhhdVNtZkJaVlE/edit?usp=sharing
And here is link to the vbox which is similar device but runs same interface http://www.vmedia.ca/vbox/
I found on your forum the necessary programs for android, here is a link to the topic:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2613243
But the file is already unavailable and any attempts on my part to download it have not been successful.
do not have a computer and I can not compile the sources. Can anyone help me and compile them? Well, or give a copy of your device.
