[Q] Boot sound on stock LWW 2.3.4 - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Is it possible to set boot sound on stock 2.3.4 LWW? I want to set my own sound on start-up animation.

Not unless you root . After rooting you can download apps such as rom toolbox lite which can change boot animation and even play sound.

S3 original boot animation + Sounds

where can i find the boot animation with the sounds because i really liked it and not so much of a big fan of jelly bams boot
Usually /system/media/bootanimation.zip and /system/media/audio/ui/poweron.ogg
But bootanimation.zip only works in AOSP ROM, but you can enable it in stock ROM, and stock RON using another format (.qmg) of boot animation which is harder to modify

Boot animation location

OK so i was looking into changing my boot animation, so i checked system/media but no bootanimation.zip the only thing i could find remotely close to it was in system/customize/resiurce and it was called hTC_bootup.zip and htc_downanimation.zip (are these the bootanimations ?)
if not could someone fill me in on where they are
R: Boot animation location
Yes they are.
But you can't edit them if you haven't write permssions.
You can make a flashable zip for this.

if you are using custom kernel moded one with system permission ..then replace the files you said..they are correct
Thanks for the info guy's, do you mean I need a custom kernel to change boot animation?

Yes. You can use flar2's kernel module (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136815) or atis112 custom kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2142286).
fulmix
No not exactly you need custom Kernel to change your bootanimation. You can use Aroma filemanager to do this on recovery. If you have custom Kernel you can change these files when you phone is up, else you have to use Aroma Filemanager which runs in recovery.
system/customize/resource is the location
hTC_bootup.zip is startup animation..During boot.
htc_downanimation.zip is shutdown animation...During shutdown
Awesome guys Thanks for the info, after i re-sized a few/made a few and tried 'em out I'll post them on here for fellow XDA'ers to use

Boot up sounds not working/ ripple effect for 4.2.2?

Hi guys.
Need some help, using root explorer pro I have put an mp3 file into store/media/ui named 'PowerOn.ogg'
However it doesn't play when I start my phone up !
I had this problem before and I fixed it (somehow) but I cannot remember exactly what I did, now since flashing a new ROM I encountered the problem again.
What can I do? thanks.
I am running Omega v6 with whatever Kernel came with it.
WHile I am here also, is there anyway to get the lockscreen off Jellybean 4.1.2 onto Jellybean 4.2.2 that I am currently running?
I miss my ripple effect
HAVE TRIED CONVERTING MP3 FILE TO OGG BEFORE PUTTING IT INTO MY PHONE, STILL NO LUCK.
Hey
Does that rom come with a power on audio?(when flashed without changes)

[Q] Bootanimation - no sound

So i flashed the bootanimation from here but have no sound:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895327&highlight=bootanimation
I tried placing PowerOn.ogg in both system/media/audio/ui and system/etc but no juice.
Running cyanogenmod 10.1.3. Any ideas?
Would love to know..
I successfully installed a 4.1.2 version of this animation:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193456
On my 4.2.2. Cyangenmod 10.1.3, and it ran successfully, BUT IT WONT PLAY THE SOUNDS.
I would love to know how to figure out where to put the .ogg file that is in the .zip.

You need to go and read the very basic faqs and guides .
I have been doing so but they are plenty and long. I really would appreciate if you could help me just with this specific. Thank you. I have read people calling "stock " both Samsung android and the kernels included in the mod android packages. Thanks again.

I have tried system/media/ui on Cyanogenmod 10.1.3
And I also have tried system/etc
None of them worked.
I even copied the .ogg file to the ringtone folder and the file does appear as a ringtone option in the phone settings, it is just that I have not found the right folder for the bootanimation.
I used Root Explorer.
Thank y'all for your support!.
Was anyone with the sound glitch able to finally make it work? I am using Cyangenomod and baffled by the lack of documentation on bootanimation sound with that rom.
