Best File manager which uses quad core of s3 - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What is the best file manager for s3 which will use its full 4 cores for tasks like compression and decompression. Also any other zip software which can do so fastest using maximum performance of s3?
P.S. does androzip use all 4 cores?

Dude, S3 is dual core. Search on web

Dude the international version of s3 i.e. i9300 has 4 cores clocked at 1.4ghz. Search the web

I am pretty sure that international version has 4 cores. At least mine has.

As for the file manager - isn't it more dependent on read/write parameters of the sd card than the cpu?

oh ya thats there.. but still which is best performance wise? and also is there any way to send folders via wifi direct directly rather than zipping them first?

Root explorer

There is no app at all that uses all four cores of s3. So it's pointless. Though the best and fastest is solid explorer beta 2. I tested about ten root explorers she it was best. Try out. It's free on market.

Any free root explorer apps?

Is the pay version of root explorer the only one or are there any free ones that r good?
Thanks

ES File Explorer or Super Manager work fine too.

thank you!
I think root browser is the best looking and best functional free app for root browsing:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree
To get rid of the ads you may have a look at the developers thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1338582
there are actually a handful of good ones(free ones). u should start with root browser lite. has a lot of options. but to name a few off the top of my head would include, script manager. andro zip root, there are also browsers in rom toolbox and other apps. depends i guess on what it is you want to do when you find what youre looking for. to be honest, the stock file manager on the razr or the "my files" app, is really not that bad
My choice : Ghost Commander
But, my favorite is ....
command line mode in Connectbot's text terminal

All these apps you lot talk about on the market that you have to pay for are free on Google.
I would like to post the link here of the paid version but someone would report me in a heartbeat.
I have Rom Tool Box Pro & like Root Browser, but my new favorite free app is X-Plore. It does everything root explorer does & has some nice customisations.

I agree with Solid explorer. It is awesome.
From my ICED down MAXX!
ES File Explorer for me.
it accesses my Box.net, SkyDrive, GoogleDrive, and DropBox right inside the app. moving/copying files couldn't be easier.

Best Task Managers

Hello all
Is there an onboard task manager in this phone that'll allow me to manage content of my SD Card and other things or do I need to download one?
If so, what are some of the best Task Managers available?
Thanks
Task manage or do you mean something like a file explorer? Try estrongs file explorer.

I think he does want a file explorer. Estrongs is good, Astro used to be but it's glitchy and overwhelmed with adds
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Everyone needs to but Root Explorer. It does everything a file explorer needs to and more. You can edit virtually any file and change values without destroying the structure of it. It's the ideal all in one file manager.
Tapatalked from my shiny new HTC Evo LTE
Agreed. There is nothing as good as root explorer. I tried a kinda cool one called Xscope, but it was just too cluttered. Hmm, maybe on a screen like this it'd look cleaner. But yeah, everybody buy root explorer.
And the best task manager is no task manager. Lots of literature about that. Android is the best task manager for Android. (And maybe an init script or build.prop with OOM values modded)
sent from my Evo LTE, usually.
Depending on what you want I use es file explorer which has root access and RAM booster for task managing though task managers are the devil

This. The only thing missing currently is streaming from smb, but that's noted in one of the change logs, so I suspect that will be back soon. In the meantime I keep ES Explorer around for that. Otherwise it's functional AND easy on the eyes, a rare combo.

Which file explorer? for daily and ease use

Which is the lightest fast and practical file explorer for everyday use?
What do you need it for (built in file support, root access, etc)?
Try xplore, it has all one needs in a file manager.

This is pretty easy to answer: ES File Explorer.
It's free and fast and besides being a normal file manager it's task killer & cloud storage (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) and ftp client.
I've been using if for a couple of years with tons of different roms and mobiles and never had a problem.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en
just for copy paste files and extract zip files... simple ui like root explorer?
There are 2 file browsers I use on an everyday basis, firstly if you want a good UI experience, the ES File Explorer and the best thing about it is free! Second thing I use is the Root Explorer app and it is not free although it's worth a buy, if you are onto changing ROMs and other tweak stuffs then this baby is for you!

Wrong section -_- and as far as ur question is concerned use root explorer
Solid Explorer or FX Explorer.
Been using Root Explorer for a long time, and it's rock solid. Recently though, I've started using FX Explorer and it's the only one I use now. And next time you have a question, post it in the Q&A section.

There are too many free android apps developed by Custom Android Application Development services those are free on Google play for wifi file transfer. I am listing a few here.
AirDroid
WiFi File Explorer
Solid Explorer
ES File Explorer File Manager
Samba Filesharing for Android
TeamViewer haves file transfer function also

Es file explorer does the trick for me. There are also plenty of apps that create a file server accessable from a browser. Main problem wireless being much slower than an usb transfer.
But seriously, if you're demanding enough to want free, expect some adds. Surely you don't work for free so why should others. It's not as if you couldn't use an adblock if you're really inclined.

Man alive. Just pay the euro or two it costs to get rid of the ads. People either pay 600 euro on a smartphone or get tied into a contract for 40+ euro a month but refuse point blank to pay another euro for an app they will probably use few days for years to come. Most apps will cost less than a cup of coffee. Just buy it, support the developer. Why should they be expected to work for free??
