electrify doesn't have lte. i do believe it does support hspa+ 4g (GSM).
it should work in europe if they run the same frequencies as here which i'm pretty sure they do in europe.
no need for a different radio.

Hey you guys. Currently own the HTC Touch Pro 2 AKA AT&T Tilt 2
I'd love to own the new HD2 but I dont know where to find one online for a good price and if its capable of the AT&T 3G GSM bands.
Second phone I'm deciding on is the Sony Xperia X10, and again, I see the only 3G band it can get from AT&T is the 2100 band.
So the lesser the bands it can connect to, the less 3G service I can get? Am I correct?
Thanks.
bump anybody?
You'll need a Telstra HD2 if you want AT&T 3G. As for the X10, the Canadian Rogers version would work on AT&T 3G bands as well.

Thanks Chuck. I've seen the Telstra HD2's and their really expensive at the moment and have to load a hack rom on it for it to work.
What would you think of this Xperia?

Hey you guys, got a question about an unlocked TMOBILE HD2, would it work with AT&T 3G network?
Thanks.

That one won't work with AT&T 3G. You're looking for something with 850/1900MHz 3G support. The white version of the X10 on that site would work.

No, T-Mobile and AT&T do not use the same 3G bands. It will not be compatible with AT&T's 3G network. The best you'll get is EDGE.

The 3G/4G part would be the same. AT&T is advertising faux 4G using HSPA+ 3G technology. As for ROMs, I would wait on that because there could be subtle differences that may cause a soft/hard brick.
even to root i'm having problems.
i have seen that before with galaxy I9000 x I9000B !!!
try this

great man..now it's root!!!!!
thanks
The only thing now is, can i install those custom roms?
Well, i was searching and i noticed that here is no section here for the 3G GSM version of ATRIX, just the 4G US version.
What about the european or south american (or even asian) versions? Does all this custom roms works for them too?

They are the same device essentially, and I'm pretty sure they're 4G enabled, just worded differently. They support HSDPA 14mbps (Cat 10) / HSUPA 2.0mbps which is HSPA in the US I think.
just the at&t atrix is currently unlockable but likely the international ones are getting unlocked with update so currently it is just possible for at&t atrix to flash custom roms, and the thing with the 3g/4g naming is region specific but the same hardware.
Here in germany 4g is lte, actually lte is called 3.9g so we don´t even have 4g

Fixed that for ya!
It's the same phone
Just switches automatically to 3g. But in EU the carriers have very expensive prices for hdspa connection. So i use it in 2g mode (leeeesss of battery consume).
Ok thanks to all of you very much. I'm a little outdated about wireless technologies and i tought 4G was cdma-based stuff. So hsdpa-hsupa are 4g gsm based technologies? I can flash my atrix with a custom rom with no problems?
Another thing that bothers me is all that acessories that comes in the pack. Remote control, dock, hdmi... will all this stuff work with the custom roms?
One last thing: Can i use it on hdmi without that "hdmi modes", just displaying whats on my screen like a game or movie, like i do with my xoom?

Just out of curiosity, do all Atrix use the same 3G bands?
If not, wouldn't that affect software porting?

but th eofficial specs on motorola's website say 14.4 down and 2.0 upload, not 5.76. are you sure its 5.76Mbps HSUPA?
Is there a way to use all 3 networks because 4G is now in my area and it would be nice if i could use that network for better speeds. But it seems that most roms are either GSM and 3G or 4G and Wimax is there any solution?
I don't think you understand the question your asking.

If you have a 4G capable GSM phone in America on a carrier such as T-Mobile or AT&T you can have 3G and 4G
If you have a 4G capable CDMA phone in America on a carrier such as Sprint or Verizon you can have 3G and 4G/LTE
GSM means the phone uses a SIM card.
CDMA phones don't use SIM cards.

In Australia we have Vodafone,Optus, etc that offer 2G (GSM) and 3g (WCDMA).
But Telstra Australia's biggest carrier now has 4G as well. I thought that maybe to access this new network I was restricted by the rom I am using, not the sim card. Because of the two different type of roms ie GSM and CDMA. Or is all controlled via my carrier?

your "4G" isn't really 4G, it's 3.5G.
It's still HSPA (WCDMA), just a faster version and your phone already supports taht. It will say either E(edge), 3G or 4G/H+
IF it is LTE that you are talking about Telstra getting, the 3vo does not support that network, there isn't an LTE radio on the device so no possible way for you to access it.

I bought an HTC Aria from Seattle/USA. It's ROM was changed by at&t so I wasn't able to do almost anyhting. I even couldn't use 3G. Then I found a way to root my Aria. I rooted it but still no 3G. Is there a way that I can enable my 3G. Is it about software or hardware? I live in Turkey by the way. Can anyone please help me

A North American Aria radio uses GSM 850/1900 for the 3G frequencies which isn't compatible with the rest of the world. The radio is hardware, thus there is no software solution available to modify a NA Aria to use the GSM 900/2100 frequencies for 3G, so you will never be able to get 3G except in the North/South America

Thanks for the reply. I've got a couple questions:
1) Can I change the radio, is there a simple way?
2) What if I had bought my Aria from a non at&t shop. Would it still have the same problem?

The radio hardware can't be changed.
There are different versions of the Aria around the world. The one you need has the model number A6380 and is named "HTC Gratia" in most countries where it is sold (but some regions still call it "HTC Aria").
