Sycning CM10 repo - Odd behaviour - Android

Hey guys, I'm currently downloading and sycning the CM10 repo through a VM and sometimes the terminal shows for example -
"Receiving objects 89% (103/130)"
and it then skips past that and almost everything else syncs to 100%. Is that normal? Or is that an error and do I have to restart the whole sync?
I'm also in a part of the house with somewhat crappy wifi signal, should I move somewhere with better signal to ensure everything downloads to 100%? Or is this normal behavior?
It's my first time compiling from source

As long as it keeps syncing don't worry about it.

Thank you for the quick reply, it's 1:18AM where I am and I was planning on leaving my laptop on all night to let the sync finish. Glad I'm not gonna be worrying all night about whether it was a waste of time!

And I'd something doesn't syn properly...when your done just run repo sync again...it will check your current directory and update or receive what needs to updated or received

When the sync is done do the files automatically show up in the pre-determined folder? Or are they hidden by default and in the .repo file? (I'm thinking they're only in the .repo file until the sync is complete, but I could be wrong)

In .repo until sync is done

Another question, I'm getting an error while syncing the repo.
remote:aborting due to possible repository corruption on the remote side
fatal:eof
fatal:index-pack failed
error:cannot fetch CyanogenMod/android_prebuilt
error: Exited sync due to fetch errors
How can I fix that? (If it can be fixed :\ )
Edit: Attached a pic to show what I'm talking about.

Try to run repo sync again...

Tried multiple times, and the same error pops up. What a massive waste of bandwidth, I won't be able to attempt compiling from source again until next month due to BS bandwidth caps. (75GB/month between...6 of us) I really wanted to try compiling from source but it seems the repository is corrupt or my computer is being a bi*ch. Next time I'll try AOKP instead of CM10.

Contact Sync Issues

Has anyone had any issues with syncing their contacts with Google. When my phone connects to sync it just grinds away and nothing happens. I did notice the other day that my name card comes up really slowly like 30 seconds and it won't allow me to delete it. I'm wondering if this is the problem? Does anyone know how to replace a name card?

My girlfriends phone is having the same issue. I was able to remedy this before I flashed GSB, but it doesn't work now.
You might try going in your contacts, display options, and disable view of your google contacts. Exit your contacts, then go back in and enable to view them again.
Like I said, this did the trick once; but isn't working this time around for me.
If anyone else has any other ideas of level 2 troubleshooting, It would be appreciated!!
Good Luck!

Repo Sync in source

I just began to compile from source for the first legitimate time tonight, legitimate as in, every time before I had syncing errors or other errors and said screw it. Anyways, when I go to sync my repo, it has been over an hour now, and it has just stopped. It hasn't gone back to a command line or anything, just stopped where it was. If I go in and sync it again, and it was not finished, will it simply begin where it left off, or will it start completely over again and take another couple hours?
It will start over, but recognizes you already synced a lot and will skip that.
Greets!
do I need to repo init again? because now when I try to type repo sync, nothing happens.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda premium
well I had shut down my computer and now when I turn it on there is no ~/bin or ICS_SOURCE. WTF?
Just reinstall repo in bin and do repo sync in the source folder
Uhm if u lost the source folder you have to redo repo init too

[Q] Gallery app very slow - how to unsync picasa/facebook galleries?

So, my gallery app is so slow that it is almost unusable. If I open it, I get a bunch of blank boxes that take forever to populate. I think it has something to do with me checking 'sync picasa', 'sync facebook', etc. options when I setup the phone. Can somebody tell me how to unsync these galleries? I went to the Facebook account settings and unchecked sync pictures, but I still have a bunch of albums and it's crazy slow.
Any ideas?
the picasa sync option is in your google account section of the menu.

Yeah, I already ended up unchecking the sync pictures boxes for Facebook and for Picasa. But the albums are still there in gallery. Maybe I should clear data for gallery or something?

After waiting a while, and they have the picasa and facebook icons. So it's still pulling my galleries off the web, even though it is no longer synced. I also wiped the gallery app data, and they are still there. I think that is why the app is so freaking slow for me.
you could try uninstalling facebook and try running a 3rd party facebook app. I personally can't stand the stock facebook app for crap like this and the way its always running.
as far as picasa, if you use it, i'm not sure what else could be done. if you dont't use it, you can remove a lot of its functions via the pc. and that would clear that up.
I have a tip for you OP.
Turn off Wifi then try using your Gallery.
Not really a solution for the stock gallery but I've used Quickpic for as long as I can remember and it's always fast, reliable, and no sync issues to deal with. Currently I use that for normal picture management and use the stock gallery in the rare instance I need Picasa or Facebook photos synced.
Yeah I have found I have this issue if I am connected to wifi at my house.. I know the reason too. Looks like the phone is trying to connect to my networks dlna server (plex) which for whatever reason it is unable to do.. I just removed allshare and the problem is gone.. you can either rename the three or so files in your app dir (if you have root) or you can install a ROM as most of them give you an option to not install allshare.

Titanium Backup Network Error

Edit: SOLUTION: Go into Advanced wifi settings and disable WiFi Optimization. It appears that the function disrupts the WiFi connection which disrupts the upload. The tradeoff of disabling it is your phone uses more battery while idle on wifi so I make sure I only disable it before bed and re-enable it when I wake up and the upload is done.
Edit: SOLUTION 2: I read somewhere on Reddit to take note of which app the upload fails at. Delete the backup of that app and manually make a new backup. After that it should sync fine. I've tired this and so far uploads to Dropbox and gdrive have been completing successfully.
So for the last few months every time I try to sync TB with Dropbox, box, or drive it immediately fails with the message "Upload Failed: Network Error". This happens on every wifi network I've tried. Been searching the Googles for a good while and See other people are having the same issue. Someone suggested that it fails because of apps that exceed like 180mb in size. I have since excluded those apps from the backup but still no deal.. Has this issue been resolved yet? I figured it would fix itself but it's been months and I'm becoming frustrated.[/QUOTE]
Anyone?
It's possible that your Titanium Backup file exceeds the amount of space available in your Dropbox account or your Dropbox upload limit.

Nope I have plenty of free space in drive, Dropbox, and box.
Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the app or clearing the apps cache and data?

More times than I can count. This has been an issue for months now. Started on my last phone. When the problem persists over multiple devices, multiple ROMs, and multiple installs I can't help but believe it's the app. Especially since I'm not the only one experiencing this.
bump
I've been having trouble with this too, but only since I got my new HTC One a few weeks ago. Before that, it always worked fine with my Galaxy S3. I have yet to complete a full sync with my One.
So frustrating and there seems to be no fix.

I have encountered this from time to time on all 4 Android devices I have used. Sometimes it's just a network timeout, and rerunning the backup (sometimes multiple times) usually fixes it. Other times it may be a particular file that kills the process. The problem is that the app messages disappear when you try to access them.
Generally, at least for me, eliminating the offending file, either through labels or deleting it (if it is defective or doesn't belong in the backup directory, and happened to have been saved there).
If there is a TitaniumBackup log, I haven't found it, and I don't know whether or not the logcat would reveal anything.

I've tried deleting and excluding backups that are more than 250mb and had no effect. Nor does retrying the upload endlessly.
Same issue for me on Dropbox. Box works but Dropbox fails everytime. Getting a server error everytime.
So lame... In the mean time is there a way to get one of the automated task apps set up in a way that it can upload the tb folder to cloud on schedule?

It is annoying that we are unable to access the error notification as well, anyway
i followed the advice from the guy above saying keep rerunning it multiple times, and it does it bit by bit so have got there in the end, thanks to good ole XDA forums
Just a shame i didn't receive any support at all from an app that was happy to take my money
So after todays update, forget about the network error.. Now I'm getting the Insufficient Storage error so cant even do a backup on both my devices. This app is just trash now a days. Sucks there is no comparable alternative.
I'm also struggling with this. I've tried a load of different options with no luck either. I'm hoping we'll find a fix for this sooner than later.
I will say though that I was able to sync to GDrive at one point. Just lately, its been giving me a lot of problems.

No Gmail Notifications on Meizu MX4

Hi all,
I don't get notifications for new Emails using the gmail-webapp on the meizu mx4 on ota5.
I already deleted my google account, rebooted and created the google account again, but it still doesn't work.
I checked the notification settings, but gmail is allowed to send notifications.
Anyone else with the same problem? How can I get notifications to work?
Would you please be so kind as to upload the following log files?
~/.cache/upstart/account-polld.log*
~/.cache/upstart/ubuntu-push-client.log*
That will help with debugging.

Hmm I just got a notification for the first time. I have send an email to myself to test notification, for which I didn't get a notification, but someone just send me an email and I got a notification for it. I put the logs in the attachement.
Thank you for the logs. I'll have a look at them right away.
---------- Post added at 11:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:14 AM ----------
Ok, I couldn't find any errors in the log files but I saw a similar bug report in the reviews of the Gmail app (even though it is no issue in that app's code at all).
I'll have a look at the code and will maybe send you a debug build with more debug information if I find that this would be helpful.
Had to take a short break but here we go.
Attached you can find the debug build. It produces some more log output than the old one but no private data is included.
Please install it by making your system writable, downloading the zip file, extracting the deb file, pushing it to your phone and installing it by running
Code:
sudo dpkg -i account-polld_0.1+15.04.20150410-0ubuntu1_armhf.deb
Please note that you will have to do a reflash using the ubuntu-device-flash tool the next time you want to update your system. It will preserve your data but it will be an additional step.
After installing the package, please send yourself a few test mails from another email account (preferably a Gmail one, definitely not a Yahoo one as Yahoo emails always land in the spam folder in Gmail).
If you want, you can also send me your email via PM and I'll send you a few test messages.
After sending those emails, wait 10 minutes to make sure that account-polld has run in the meantime, then grab the log files again and upload them here.
That will allow me to have a deeper look into what is working and what isn't.
Thank you very much in advance.
By the way, I only need the account-polld log files from now on. You can leave out the ubuntu-push-client logs as they are all right.
Thanks, I just installed the deb file and will ask my friends to send me some emails.
As I am on sports event, I wont be able to upload my logs until late afternoon.

Now that's interesting since I didn't change anything of the logic.
Would you mind giving the unmodified version a try again? Either by reflashing or by installing the original Debian package from Launchpad: launchpadlibrarian.net/202778718/account-polld_0.1%2B15.04.20150410-0ubuntu1_armhf.deb
Please run the following commands before installing it and reboot afterwards:
Code:
stop account-polld
stop ubuntu-push-client
rm ~/.local/share/account-polld/*
Let's see if that changes anything.
OK I will test it tomorrow.

That was because the rm command deleted the information which mails have already been shown to you. That was part of resetting the push client to an as much as possible pristine state for testing.

Hmm for me the bug is not fixed. The email notification sound still remains the same. I maybe was too fast, when I marked the notification problem as solved, because I still often get no notifications for new emails. It seams that it depends on the source or content of an email if I get a notification, because for some sources I get everytime a notification, for some never. For the most sources I get no notification. I assuming that because I got an email from a source without notification and after that send me an email from the source I know I will get a notification and I got one, but just for the working source, the other one was not in the notification list. So notification still not working correct for me
