What happens after charging - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hi all,
if I recharge the phone when it is off, I'd like to avoid the boot when I unplug the device from the wall. Is it possible to do this?

No because that boot is required for the os to load and optimise all applications and system files on your phone. So when you turn on the phone you can‘t avoid the boot.

I'm sorry, I'll try to explain better: the problem is that when I recharge the phone when it is turned off, when I unplug it from the wall, it reboots and turns on, but I'd like it remains turned off.

Really have no idea.. if you want to keep your phone off for a long time at 100%, it is not recommended, best is if you charge to 30-50% to store it (laptop advice, and phone hae same type of battery)

Strange!! I never faced such an issue!!
Make nandroid backup. Reflash the latest rom with complete wipe.. battery data wipe too.
See if you still have the problem. If yes flash different kernel and see if its rectified!!

I remember that I followed all the steps correctly when I done the flash. So what do you think if I do only the complete wipe without flashing again?

Complete wipe. After you erase data and system.. nothing will be left. You wont be able to boot.

how do i solve it?

Hi,
i am not sure, if I understood you properly - please be more specific or use simplier sentences.
I guess that if your phone is fully charged and you turn it of, it will self power on? Right?

[Q] Problem with Rom

hi everybody.
i'm not new in this forum but i onl now registered so i cant post in the android development section ( or so the site says)
i have a Samsung Galaxy S II ( GT-i9100)
i was using a CM10 based Paranoid android Rom for a long time and it was great.
a few days ago i wanted to use a new ROM - [ROM 4.1.2 - 4.2] JellyBam - 20121115 [AOKP.CM10.PARANOID] [AROMA] [SPACESTYLE]
i did exactly what the instructions said :
Put Rom zip in internal SD
wipe data + cache + Dalvik
install rom - using siyah Kernel 5.0.1
after the install the Rom lodas fine and seems to work great but after the first time i need to restart the phone it get stuck in the boot animation
i tried doing another Cache + Dalvik wipe after the install but it still happens
when i was searching the Rom's Forum , no one seemed to had the same problem, and that is why i am posting this here.
if any one can help i will be grateful.
thanks in advance
shlomo
p.s.
for now i went back to a Nand backup of my old rom...
hi there.
i manged to fix the first problem by flashing the rom with a different kernel - Dorimanx...
but now i have a different problem
everytime that i turn the phone on i get the messege "upgrading android"
and there are times that the phone turnes off for no reason (mainly when i get incoming calls)
and after that when i turn it back on again the battary is almost dead - today it happened when i had 70% and when i turned in back on the battary went down to 4%!!!
what can i do???
1.Wipe data/factory reset
2.Format /system
3.Flash the ROM (choose whatever Kernel in aroma)
4.Wipe cache
5.Wipe dalvik
6.Restart
Try that.
edit: oh and if the battery problem persists, calibrate your battery (there are plently of guides out there i'm sure you can find)
Thankx for the help, ill try that (again). Just a few questions.
Do you recommend a specific kernel (if j usr siyah i seem to get a bootloop)
What guide do you recommend to calibrate the battary, there are allot of them out there that i dont kbow which to use
Thanks again.

u can use Dorimanx v7.22 kernel ma8
also battery callibration apps will not aid u in any way on ur SGS2, since it comes with seperate Fuel gauge chip
u can use the 'Stweaks' app that comes with the Dorimanx kernel and do a 'Reset Fuel gauge chip' in it to have a better reading with ur battery

You can reset the fuel gauge chip, and if it doesnt work you can try the following: charge the battery to 100%, leave it on the charger. Go to recovery, wipe battery stats under advanced. Reboot, unplug from charger.
Hope it helps.
Edit: I think I read somewhere that its recommended to leave the battery to fully discharge after wiping bat stats (let the phone turn itself off) and then recharge again.

Why don't you try Rootbox? Jelly bam is based on it anyway, why not try the rom from the dev instead of a cook

well... tried Rootbox and i gotta say its a nice rom.
bot not more then that... the paranoid android settings are all wonky there and i still get many bootloops - even you can work around them by turning on and off...
going to try P.A.C Rom
any advice would be appreciated
Edit: well, tried P. A. C Rom, worked well to start with. But then again it started a bootloop for no reason... For now went back to a nand backup of jellybam from 16/11 that seems to be the most stable. Why does this keep happening???

[Q] Hard brick Samsung Galaxy SII

Hi, i'm a new user of SG SII, and i don't know much about it. I was trying to install new ROM on it, first I tried to unroot my phone with CF ROOT, after that everthing was OK. Then i tried to install REVOLT JB i9100 ver 2.8.2, when i got by CWM in recovery, instead of clicking wipe data, then cache and ccache partition i did: wipe data/factory reset, and wipe cache partition, wipe dalwik cache and format system. I flashed kernel and during ROM installation phone turned off and did turn on. i think it's hard bricked. I don't know what to do, please help.
Are you still able to get into don't download mode o your phone ? ( volume down, home key, power button )
If so, reflash your kernel and go from there.
Also have a look at CyanogenMod, they have a good post with instructions on here.

no, phone doesn.t response on anything, even if i'm charging the battery.
Try removing your battery and unplug cables.
Then try download or recovery mode again.
If it really doesnt work then there is probably something fried on your system board, doubt anything you can do about it as i had the same not that long ago out of the blue.

ok, i'll try to do it. but i have to ask if that will not work, can i save my phone by changing main board on warranty in service?
You can always tell them that you were updating via kies and it dropped dead just like that.
Your battery was low when you tried to flash it, wasn't it?
try a jig first tho; there's something fishy about those wipes you mentioned.

On some occasions flashing a device can use 40-50% of battery to prep and flash device which is why its advised to never flash your phone unless you have at least 50-60% battery.
If power cuts out during flashing procedure it can damage nand/ic chip, corrupt bootloader, corrupt sdcards etc.
After leaving it plugged into to charger overnight try a USB jig to see if you can get it to wake up in download mode, If you can re-flash rom and go from there.

From what you described, it couldn't have hard bricked your phone. In fact, it isn't easy to hard brick our phone unless you install that infamous ICS 4.0.4 leaked ROM or mess with flashing of PIT file. Try to use another fully charged battery to boot up or go into CWM recovery.

while i was installing new rom, process was like 0% for about 5 minutes, and then phone just turned off. When i did flashing and installing CWM everything was ok. I rooted it with CF root.
Exact same problem here. Followed the root guide to the letter and all OK. Set omega rom installing and it stayed at 0 for five mins then it shut off. Now no life at all.
Gonna build a jig tomorrow so I'll update here if it works.

The reason for this is stock kernel who has kode cause brick.

[Q] x10i Keeps Rebooting.

Hello,
I have flashed a few custom ROMs onto my x10i and each time it reaches the lock screen when it starts up it just seems to go into a reboot loop from kernel splash screen to lock screen again. Is there any fix for this ? I have tried using SEUS and restarting the whole process of flashing a kernel, rooting etc but it doesn't seem to work. it literately only happens when it reaches the lock screen. sometimes it lasts longer than that. Whenever I wipe the system it seems to work fine but as soon as a few things are running it starts to reboot again. The current ROM I'm running is PAC-man, with the kernel supplied along with it.
Could anyone help me ?
Thanks,
mmy4life
I have the same problem
use the phone until the battery become empty charge it in off mode up to 100 enter in xrecovery advanced options wipe battery stats and reboot
maybe you did an error when flashing or it runs wrong kernel. my suggestion : just use another ROM there are many nice ROM you can choose, and dont forget to follow step by step installation guide provide by developers.
Is the rom overclocked as this can can happen on some devices try and set the CPU to 998

That usually happens when the ROM is using overclocked CPU settings or an unstable CPU governor as default but it can also be defaulted inside the kernel. You simply flash another kernel and appropriate ROM.

btw 1eyedmonster how do you set the CPU to 998?
I am also having ths reboot and crash issue... is there no fix for it? I have read about this reboot error at numerous sites. Must be a bug or summin man... or we dn summin wrong... and if it were hardwars related then to what hardware wd you be referring to? Is it a replaceable part? How easy wd such a task honestly be... i have 2.3.3 with 3.0.0.75 and no matter what it just wont stop dropping itself while i just start to appreciate it all over again... so im sure there have bn plenty issues regards this... so is there an answer?

[Q] SGS3 Charging problems

A few days ago my charger (not an official Samsung charger as I bought my phone from a random shop) stopped working as it only works when you hold the connector in a certain position. Ever since then my phone won't charge unless you take the battery out for a few seconds, put it back in and connect it to the charger (I now use my camcorder's charger and my PC via usb). Also, the charger stopped working whilst it was in the phone (I was using it at the time).
Does anyone know if there is a solution to this problem?
Thanks in advance!

I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.2, would it be safe to back up my apps and system data with Titanium Backup then restore the backup after the factory reset?
You didn't mention you were on a custom Rom, do a nandroid then flash a stock rom to test.
Don't change anything until the charging has been tested.

Alright, thank you. Was this fix sacrificing everything that I had before which is currently in a nandroid backup?
You've proven the fault is with your rom/setup, restore the nandroid and the charging problem will return.
If you really want CM then flash a clean install of that rom and test charging, if it works then restore apps only from titanium.

The awkward moment when I forgot to backup my apps... Would going back to the problematic nandroid, backing up my apps, reflashing a stock rom then rooting/installing cwm/cyanogenmod be safe?
Edit: As opposed to reflashing a stock rom, installing cwm now and backing up this setup would save time
My phone got back into the habit of doing this, the fix seemed to be only temporary... I really don't want to go stock, I enjoy Cyanogenmod.
