I'm currently running on stock ICS rom 6.1.A.2.45 kernel 3.0.8 and I can't access the recovery menu. I've made sure my device can unlock its bootloader and I've installed the SDK.
What I'm doing to load the recovery menu is holding the volume up-button while plugging in my device via USB to my computer.
Does anyone know what I should do?
Download flashtools, install it and then install the drivers in the drivers folder with in flash Tools folder.
Download ic15 cwm kernel and fastboot flash it with flash tools and youll be Abel to access the recovery during boot.

Was running cm10 did a a wipe and restored to previious rom, and it won't boot.. Just boot loops.. Anyway to get my phone working again> I can access recovery still
most likely an s-on issue, you need to flash the kernel separately in fastboot. it has to match your backup's rom base

Can you go in detail for me please
You need the boot image from the Rom you made a back up of, it has to match the base at the time of the backup 1.22, 2.13 or what have you and it needs to be flashed in fastboot. To do so you need the mini SDK (adb tools) or the full sdk. Place the boot.img (kernel) into the directory and open a terminal. Navigate to the directory or open it directly in the folder (windows) by holding shift and right click and slecting open command window here. You then boot to bootloader and connect the phone in fastboot. Type devices to make sure its connected and then fastboot flash boot boot.img and reboot
Easiest way is download flashgui and then download meanrom and open up meanrom via flashgui on phone and flash the stock kernel then boot into recovery and then flash your.restore and wala!!! That's what I had to do being s on

Hello,
Pretty stupid question here, how do i install cwm on my sola? I am on .154 (Unlocked BL). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You can either flash a kernel via fastboot which includes CWM or you can install CWM for Locked Bootloader by Atis And yes, locked bootloader version works on unlocked too
Go to Sola's Dev Section and select whichever one you want
could you give me the link to atis's version please?
Here you go : CWM for Locked BL
Enjoy
it gets stuck at waiting for device even though it is connected. one more thing, how do i flash boot.img? i wanna flash fxp's cm9
ok i installed cwm. how do install cm9 by fxp now?
Just follow the instructions given on the thread if you are wondering abt the boot.img, Go to Flashtool and select Fastboot mode to flash the img
ok if i try to boot intto fastboot... drivers need to be installed for connected device. i installed the drivers from the drivers folder in flashtool. but it wont go to fastboot mode
You're pressing Vol. up key right ? Its Vol. up for Fastboot and Vol. Down for Flashmode
yes i am pressing volum up and plug in usb
Wierd You selected Fastboot driver also when installing Drivers right ? And the Device Driver for your phone ? ;p
ok im done booting....did it by trial and error. thanks for your assistance.
Hello,
I am a complete noob when it comes to dealing with phones.
I have a Sony Xperia Sola (firmware 6.1.1.B.1.54 ICS)
I downloaded Rom Manager via Play Store and want to flash a custom rom.
But whenever I try to select the option "Reboot and Install", only a normal boot happens.
How do I reboot and install the rom?? I have tried the button combos (power+volume - and volume +) but nothing works.
Please help!
PS
I am
-rooted
-bootloader unlocked
-clockworkmod recovery via recoverX
-rom is [ROM] Unoficial JellyBean stockrom 6.2.A.0.400 Sola
I understand that the rom you mentioned is recently ported and also deleted from development section of sola (munjeni rom).
According to his instruction, you need to do following thing:
Enter fastboot mode (off phone then hold volume up and plug cable)
Flash boot.img in zip Rom file to phone (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
Turn on phone and enter recovery menu (on phone then spam the volume down)
Do the clear data, cache... then install the zip file (rom)
Done.
Why was the rom deleted from the development section? Any clue? It was such an useful rom (using it myself)
And no, the original instruction only said to flash the zip file. Not fastboot the kernel before that. Fastbooting is only necessary I you get boot loops on normal flashing

You have not flashed your kernel (boot.img) properly

I finally got into recovery mode, but when trying to flash the JB rom, it says something about a (Status 7 error) Flash aborted. how did you successfully flash yours?
First, you flash the stock ICS rom of sola. It will create the compatible partitions for JB in sola.
Second, you enter recovery mode and wipe all data, cache.... (maybe flash boot.img is required to entering this mode)
Finally, you install the zip file (rom).
Good luck.

I have flashed stock ICS, but even after I wiped/factoy reset, it still says Status 7 error
Maybe you should try to flash the boot.img in the zip file of munjeni before entering recovery mode and wipe all data, cache.

You flash in fastboot mode, or with recovery, but you must have unlocked bootloader, or it will brick your phone.
so I was having a reboot issue with AOSP ROM's and was trying to go back to stock before I realized there was no RUU for T-mobile devices.
anyway long story short I am now at the point that I can load a custom recovery via fastboot but have no ROM at all on the phone, so when it reboots it just hangs on the HTC one splash screen.
how do I go about flashing a new ROM without usb access?
any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Chad
You still have usb access it's in hboot menu, Your in a mess , but do this .
If you have a custom recovery and can boot into it, do so.... Power off phone and hold vol down and power until u boot Into hboot ....And then choose adb sideload Rom option in your cwm or twrp recovery and download a Rom to your laptop and select sideload Rom.
If you have no recovery, boot Into hboot manually choose fastboot make sure it says fastboot usb that means u have usb recognituon to your phone it will be in red letters .... download and use hasoons2000 toolkit for tmobile m7.... Choose flash a recovery it's at the far top right of the tool kit to script flash cwm recovery.
Then sideload a Rom from pc to phone via recovery..

[NUT]'s recovery can be installed via the installer (run from PC) or flashed via recovery. Since you can't get into recovery, you'll have to use the installer. Get from here: http://nut.xperia-files.com/

I am unable to boot the device , still can i istall it ? please sugegst
also, i can connect device into fastboot mode using flash tool but not into flash mode , gives me a popup to press back button when i use flashtool, please help
Alternatively, use PC Companion and do a repair. You should be returned to stock firmware with stock kernel and should be able to boot. Then root and install recovery, and then flash the custom ROM.
To enter flashmode, you need to press the volume down button while connecting the phone to the PC.
