I'm not sure if somebody else experiences this, but as soon as I've installed ICS on my Sola, my sd card would cause either a bootloop (Samsung class 10, 32gb) or would reboot itself whilst reading/writing from/to the sd card (sandisk, 32gb, sandisk, 2gb).
Like I've mentioned, this only happens on ICS. I've tried the stock ICS ftf, then tried Dynamic rom, problem still there.
On one hand I feel like requesting a repair for my device, but on the other hand, if I flash it back to GB, relock BL, they won't find a problem with the SD so that gets me nowhere since official ICS isn't released yet -- which makes me wonder how the official release can differ from that of the global ftf...
What to do? This makes me almost regret not getting that Xperia Go when I had the chance.

hi everyone well last week ive tried many times over to install ics rom over my gingerbread and everytime this is what i get after i have completed followed the steps of how to upgrade to ics rom....when its trying to install the sd card can not be mounted...and repeats it many times over...so then i put phone into recovery so i can reboot...and it rebooted into the ics rom which i dont know how, but now my sd card is damaged and cant mount so i lose all my info no biggy....after reformatting the sd card, its ok...so i figure i would start it again...same thing.....i even did the steps but left the sd card out where you are suppose to and put back in when needed...still the same thing cant read sd card on install and after reboot sd card damaged need formatted...so i dont know what else to think except that i just cant simply get it flashed to the ics roms of any kind properly...if anyone can help thanks
Should be moved to q&a section. You will get help there.

lol i dont know how to move it except just post new thread there
Sounds like you need a new SD card. Some of the stock cards don't play well with MTD based ROMs. I would probably get a Class 10 microSD card (be careful if you get 32gb, there are known problems with some of them)
I bought http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-microSDHC-Class-Memory-Adapter/dp/B0058GH4U0/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1335980268&sr=8-12 and have had no problems at all after!
You are flashing the THS build 2 first right? You have to flash that rom, then reboot to recovery by holding down the power button wile your in the OS and select the recovery option after that you'll be in a compatible version of CWM. Flash AOKP M5 from there.
Sorry I searched for about an hour but couldnt find anything similar to this exact question. I must be as good at searching as the government is at solving anything.
This is my buddy who has an SIII on verizon. (Im still rocking a G2).
End goal: Get JB (cyanogen) working so he can be rid of VZ's & samsung's annoying bloatware and rock his music (~50 GB... those audiophiles)
He tip toed into the waters and rooted the SIII a few weeks ago and installed official CM 10 (JB) downloaded here on xda. through odin.
He is getting ran around in circles because when he formats the card to FAT32 on his pc but then neither the PC or phone recognizes it when he puts in it. So he formatted it to exFAT but the phone gives him an "sd card damaged" message. exFAT is an issue b/c CM 10 needs FAT32 to install. He used Partition Magic (I think) to format to FAT32. SD Card Formatter to change back to exFAT but it doesnt allow FAT32 formatting for some reason. Hes formatted in the android as well to see if that helps (didnt), which is a pain to lose all the tunes.
The card is a legit sandisk purchased on amazon. Here.
Ive read recoveries dont support exfat, but found that under another phone, so I dont know it if holds true for his phone and/or this rom.
Basically will one of the JB roms support exFAT so he jam out?
Im not a super modder but have had some experience rooting and flashing roms on my G1 and G2.. Any help would be peachy
I have a problem. This problem is the reason I stopped messing with JB roms a few months ago. I would try AOKP and CM10 roms both. I don't remember which one had the sd card not reading, but the other one wouldn't have data. So I gave up. I wondered back today and found out that the ota had been leaked. So I installed ss3.07, and used lightwave's util to get a jb kernel so I could dual boot. Then I isntalled hater's blur JB rom. I am running into this problem again where it says no sd card is inserted. I have tried different sd cards, and it reads fine on my ICS roms. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.
OH, additional news, when I goto my files app, it doesn't list any internal storage either....but I can still download apps from the market. It says device storage is unmounted.
Trying to get to storage in options FC's settings
To clarify some more things I've figured out, if I'm running a JB rom designed to run on ICS kernel, I can see the internal storage but not SD card. I can also access the storage settings menu. It just reports my internal storage, and says mount for sd card.
On a JB kernel and rom built from the the OTA leak, phone doesn't report any internal or sd card. This happens in any JB rom I try.
I hope this isn't too confusing. I would love to run JB some time soon. Thanks again.
I figured someone might at least have a joke or useless comment :/
I've had problems similar to this. I would take everything I needed off of the sd card and format it. Hope this works.
Tried that. Along with different sd cards. Thanks for the reply though.
Hi to all community, I am having a pretty serious problem with my device (xperia mini pro 17i, Locked bootloader, Rooted, upgraded to Ics and later to Zelly bean pro 2.0, O2 uk carrier) and I have searched everywhere without finding any solution.
Since I bought the phone I am having a lot of sd card reading issues up to the point that I had to remove the battery\card and reinsert them 3-4 times per day (8gb class 4) .
I thought the problem was in my corrupted sd card which I replaced with a Sandisk 32gb class10 but I still had the same issues. The worst of all is that once or two times per month almost all my folders apart from the system and app folders are being wiped out. I tried to recover them but with no luck.
Things went much better when I replaced ICS with zelly bean , I had almost zero issues with my sd card (maybe only once per day), but today and after a couple of restarts all my folders where gone again (almost 20gb of pictures and music).
Have you ever had any issue like this ?
Xperia mini pro
Rooted
Zelly Bean 2.0

Hey,
It is a strange issue and I didn't face such an issue before but if I were u, I will do the following..
1- Backup data on SD card.
2- Format SD card.
3- Install CWM through X-Parts or wherever you want.
4- Wipe all data "Even Dalv. Cache".
5- Connect phone to PC Companian and start "Repair Phone".. It will install the official software from the begining without any root premissions.
6- Root the phone again.
7- Download Titanium Backup from Play Store to fix permissions of root.. Nothing else.
8- Backup the offiicial ROM with CWM... Cause it is the best from my point of view.
9- Install your favoriate ROM.
10- Restore your data on your SD card and plug it again in your device.
I wish it will help you man.. Good luck
That's exactly what i didand I hope i will not have any further issues, wiped everything and formatted the sd card, installed official gb rom, rooted then upgraded to ics and flashed the zc rom with all the other updates , if that fails too then I am afraid that it is a hardware issue.
Whenever I flash a ROM onto my I9300 the extSD card will not mount. According to whatever ROM I use the card cannot be read or is corrupt. It works fine in stock JB, however when I restore the device to stock JB it then states the card needs formatting and I have to go through the process of chucking all my music back onto the card after I format (which I'm doing right now).
The card I'm using is a Sandisk Ultra 64GB Class 10. I'm able to make backups and restore from them on the card itself through PhilZ Touch as CWM wouldn't read the card either and some other users suggest I try PhilZ recovery as they've had similar problems. Has anyone else had this problem and is willing to offer a solution? If so what card do you use?
I've heard flashing back to ICS which will write a different mount code than the one JB writes to a device, and somehow this will fix future mounting problems. I don't know how much of this is true but you can read the article here: http://checkrom.com/threads/cant-mount-internal-sd-card.994/
non Sammy based Roms only support fat32
