[q][rr 3.0.9][mod uninstall] - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I have a (rather silly) question regarding mod installing on RR 3.0.9 - Let's say I installed the mod and want to remove it, what should I do? Do I have to re-flash the ROM?
The mods are from the RR website:
htt p:// ww w. resurrectionremix. com / index.php? action=tpmod;dl=cat216
Thanks,
DFN

Yes, you reflash the Rom again and wipe both cache and dalvik cache.

Omega v5.2 ROM (default version) vs stock firmware

Hi,
I read up on the Omega v5.2 ROM and it looks very good. I just want to know from those who are already using it, how much better performance is it using the recommended version whcih I think is called the "Default" vs the stock firmware? It is that much smoother and better battery performance?

No its far to early to be better by anything but a very small margin .
Battery performance is down to the user not the firmware .

Would you happen to know what apps are removed in the "Bloated Apps Removed version" of the ROM? I can't find the list of apps the developer removed.

Tried Omega 4.2 and 5.2 briefly. Both times it broke Navigon and the camera hung on me. Don't see any benefit of the Hyperx mod. 5.2 caused my phone to warm up noticably.
So you wouldn't recommend 5.2? Also, if I do decide to flash it, do I need to do a full wipe in CWM before I flash it or can I just flash it from stock in CWM?

Have you done ANY research in the main thread? I don't think so, as all of this is covered there, including instructions (theres even a video to walk you through it). Don't be lazy.

A full wipe is the recommend, because then you have a clean installation and you beware of strange failures.
An instruction how you should flash Omega ROM is in the development thread (4th post) --> Installation Guide
I don't know if your phone is rootet yet, if so skip the first step and start with booting in CWM recovery.
Had used Omega on my SGS II, now using Omega on SGS III since 3.0. Works great for me, no errors whatsoever.
Omega 5.2 is flawless ok but hyper x mod is useless. It creates noise in video recording. No need to use 30mbps bit rate but if in future 60fps recording come true it will be a charm!!

You have to install it with CWM:
1. Reboot to Recovery (CWM-Menu)
2. Select the zip-File
3. Enjoy
Looking at the tutorial video where it shows Omega 3 being installed on a stock rom where it says "no wipe necessary"
Does the same apply to version 6 ? as my rom is stock & rooted, will all my apps/widgets be lost or recoverable with Titanium, this will be my first custom rom and its looking great, thanks for your patience

[Q] SGS2 Replace preinstalled apps in Custom ROM

Hey guys,
Please can u tell me if there is a solution to change/modify to your needs a custom Rom you're about to install on your rooted galaxy s2 ( 9100 ).
For example: I want to install CyanogenMod 10 Nightly build... , it's installed, next i install GAPPS (google apps).
Ok, after reboot everything is ok and working.
Now what i want to do is to replace a default CM(cyanogenmod) apps (SMS, Contact manager/Call manager) by those which were included in JB 4.1.2 (leaked version).
Is there any way to achieve it ?
Thanks in advance for any info and suggestions.

Nope, i watched Chameleon ROM Hybrid on youtube but you can see that he is using old sms app (green with smiley), instead of what i'am searching for (Messaging with orange/yellow envelope).
But what i mentioned is that he have TouchWiz launcher (Desktop), where u can create folders etc.. How can i port it to fresh installed CM10 ROM?
Any suggestions? thanks

[ROM] Deodexed XXMB2 without Preload

I leave here the JB 4.1.2 Leak in a Deodexed version. (For testing)
- Don't use Preload.
- It's a complete ROM , not only app and framework.
- Busybox
DISCLAIMER 1:
I am not responsible in ANY way if this bricks your phone/ goes into bootloop. You, and YOU ONLY, is responsible for what happened to your phone.
To avoid problems with system size, the ROM don't have some apps like chaton or music_hub . If you need to install some of them you can install those after.
I removed some ringtones too.
Because that , is important to build a good preload version.
Installation:
Copy zip to SD Card
Download and install CWM 6.0.2.8
Do a Backup (You can use it to restore data if you want to wipe data/factoryreset in this step)
Format system from CWM to have a fresh installation.
Install zip from CWM
[Optional] wipe cache/dalvik-cache
If you don't format data or wipe data/factory reset, you will have your previous phone but deodexed.
Reboot
Download

-Complete ROM? can u specify that a little more than just (not only data and framework)
-Preload?
-What is the difference between this Rom and Estelter's one?

This is a complete ROM : app, lib,etc,xbin,framework,.....build.prop,.. You have a new system and because that, you can use it as base to build a custom ROM.
Estelter change the app and framework directories to deodex apps and jars but you need flash the others system directories with odin before.
Preload is a specific area Sansung use like a extension of the system partition. In GB we don't use that area. I remove some apps from /system/app and the system partition size is enough . I don't need at the moment the preload partition.
Can I flash this zip from GB??

Not. You must use Odin the first time because :
- You need to change the partitions map to JB
- Flash the JB modem, kernel, baseband, CSC, etc.
This ROM is a complete /system . It is the part of the ROM we change in the custom ROMS.
Maybe not the smartest question, but...
Can i change vold.stab and framework-res.apk inside your pack, so that i want to have both effect right after ROM installation (vold.stab already switched, so there could be some mess if i don't change it before flashing of the rom)?

[ROM] 100% Stock 4.2.2 GT-P5220(LTE) [Deodexed/Rooted build also available]

This is a completely 100% stock rom built from the P5220XXUAMJ8 base. It's in flashable zip format, but there is absolutely no tweaking done to this rom; its primary purpose is as a base for anyone wanting to build a mod rom for the P5220 LTE, as well as being there for anyone who wants to return stock without odin.
As it is 100% stock it's fully bloated, odexed, and non-rooted. You can attain root by flashing root.zip (not included in this post, but it's in the main forum) thus, if you have any complaints, bring them to Samsung, not me. Flashing instructions and download link below.
Edit: I've now also posted a deodexed + rooted build. See download link below. No other changes have been made to this version besides deodex/root.
Flashing instructions:
-Full wipe (factory reset in twrp)
-flash ROM
-reboot, let sit for about 10 minutes
-You're now 100% stock. Enjoy!

If you have a custom recovery you can install this ROM to boot up stock / stock rooted. If you're just looking to root and don't want to replace your entire ROM I have a root method with guide posted here.

Hi Pbt
Sad to hear this. Although it doesn't help you in THIS question, but I'd recommend to switch to Android 6.0.1 Mashmallow following this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3/development-10/rom-cyanogenmod-13-0-t3342017
Don't mess around anymore with Android 4.2.2...

the problem is that I come from the CM 13. I preferred to return to rom stock because it seemed that the CM13 lag too. I think I will try to install the original firmware with Odin
