These are the instructions
- Flash u.elf kernel
- CWM flash rom
- Flash ICS stock kernel.elf
Despite searching, this noob cannot find where to download u.elf kernel and ICS stock kernel elf.
Any assistance is well appreciated.
surely question is not too retarded to merit a reply

I'm a bit confused. Can you please help me?
Please correct me if this is wrong...
Steps I'm about to take:
Flash rage kernel -> then flash cm7. (or do i need to reflash stock kernel first?)
Questions:
- Can I flash kernel and rom from CWM?
- Will I lose my root/cwm when I do the steps?
- If I accidentally flash a kernel that is incompatible with the rom what would happen?
- Any list of kernels that works well with CM7?
Thanks for helpers.
Help. I'm having a hard time installing rage kernel 2.9 for FXP, after I flash it. It won't boot and it won't enter recovery mode. Because of that, I can't install the cm7.2 rom. For now I went back to X kernel. x______X Help please?
Or do I install the rom first before the kernel? Help pleaseee...
Edit: Nvm, fixed it. Found the solution on the original Rage kernel thread
- "If you used KRsH Kernel or X kernel before you need to restore /system/lib/modules/ with stock files. Or just simply flash this: signed-mango_stock_modules.zip (2.3.4) or this ics_wifi_modules-signed.zip (4.0.4) via recovery."

- Kernel can only be installed via fastboot, read forum or my tutorial for more info. For better battery life, use Rage Kernel 2.7 from that topic. ROM needs to be installed via Recovery.
- Root and CWM are included in the kernel already, no need to worry about that.
- Bootloop.
- That Rage Kernel and the original kernel provided with the ROM(in .zip file).

These modules are only related to WiFi.
First install the kernel, else you cannot install the ROM in Recovery.
Make sure your bootloader is unlocked, then install the kernel via fastboot, then enter Recovery(already in kernel, no need to install) and install the ROM.
As I can see that in installing new Zelly Cream rom they have mentioned that after flashing a stock .587 ftf file install your desired kernel. Whats the point of flashing a desired kernel over a .587 ftf stock kernel. Or in other ways why do we need to flash a .587 ftf file when we are anyway going to flash it with a custom desired kernel. Does it make any sense or does it have any impact over it to flash multiple kernels. Please anyone do explain Thanks.

if u dont flash stock firmware before flashing any rom, u may face bootloop.. thats why OP of that rom said to flash stock firmware first...
when u flash any custom kernel the stock kernel will be replaced.. u can also exclude the stock kernel while flashing the stock firmware in flashtool.. custom kernels has many pros over the stock kernel, like built in cwm, oc, governor, I/O, performance boost etc..

Here you go!
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35239?tstart=0
Flash the right firmware and the kernel will also get flashed in the process!
So,that means i don't have to flash any kernel?
I read on other sites if i have stock ics then have to flash stock kernel for gb,what should i doo then?
I don't want to brick my precious
When you download .ftf file (those ones provided on the above link) you are flashing kernel + rom - in this case all official (stock) so no worries
You can do it via flash tool - it is very easy
Thanks guys for your quick answer and help:thumbup:
I'll be back(after flashing gb)!
It's done, thank you guys!

the link you posted has .587 firmware for mini pro.... download it....
you have to flash it first by using flash mode and then you will find boot.img in the zip file of Xtream Bean ROM V 3.0....
extract boot.img from zip and flash it in fastboot mode.... now go to CWM recovery and follow the instructions

I guess it's not really necessary to flash the .587 kernel first... just go ahead flashing the boot.img from inside the zip and boot in cwm recovery and flash the rom
If you really want the kernel, take it from here
thanks for ur reply

Normally there should be no problem just because you didn't flash the .587 kernel first, but you can try flashing the stock .587 kernel I posted earlier and then the boot.img you take from the rom.zip
Did you wipe before installing v3? Sometimes there are problems because you didn't wipe, but I don't know about the rom...

I don't think there is a pre-rooted kernel but we have pre-rooted stock roms for z2 and you can download and flash any kernel that is stock based (like elite kernel) and flash a pre-rooted firmware
