Just Installed CWM recovery on my Xperia S, I did the same on my Arc. It broke the offline charging capability of my phone ... so I searched while and got a answer.
From this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1699118
I have applied the Charger. Now the Offline Charging works yet the Animation is not there :/ because of Charge file has some changes since the previous Xperia :/

my phone went dead yesterday, been plugged into charger all night, red led on, this morning, still dead. Been plugged into usb on pc for about 5 mins,'bootloops' on SONY logo, can get into CWM recovery, select reboot now, phone starts up, then quickly swap to mains charger, phone is now charging.:crying:

This is the method I followed
How did you fix yours to charge? Mine won't charge at all while off, just loops on the Sony logo, I wouldn't mind having no charge animation as long as it charges!
I was sh!tting it this morning, thought I'd killed my phone!

...you forgot to apply the wireless charging patch when you did s-off- didn't you!
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
What's the wireless charging patch?
OP, that happens with clockworkmod. If you use twrp, you can charge your phone with it off.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
I just turned my phone off (not the first time since I acquired S-off) and my phone refused to turn on. I had to do a battery pull in order to get it to boot.
My SD card also corrupted itself (16GB Class 10) inside of my phone last night. I lost some important pictures that I cannot replace.
I wonder if these occurrences aren't caused by whatever method Revolutionary uses to acquire s-off. I never had a hint of any problems before I used it.

If it doesn't get better by calibrating your battery could be defective.
Which phone are we talking about? The ST15, which you posted it from?
Try getting another battery, might be faulty battery.
Since when this started actually?
And there is no such thing as battery calibration for our phones.
This problem started after calibrating my xperia mini .. And thnx for your advices

This problem had occured a week after I bought this mini several month ago .. After that I returned it to sony centre and it works .. And this problem occur again... I wont returned my mini again because my mini was unlocked using xda rom hub .. Is it true that this problem can be solve by buying a new battery?

When my phone jump to 1 .. I connect the charger and after that it jump up to 79 again .. I always wipe the batterystats.bin and this way doesnt seem much effective ..
Sent from my ST15i using xda app-developers app
As I said already, there is no such thing as battery calibration for Android smartphones. All these things are useless. They just delete the batterystats.bin file, which changes nothing about the battery, because it only includes info about which apps has used the battery. The data is used only for the Battery Usage screen, nothing more, nothing less. So deleting that file or using these calibration things are time-waste and useless.
Lock your bootloader and repair your firmware with Update Service first, then we'll see further. If you need help with locking the bootloader, read my tutorial.

Requirements :
1. Sony Xperia S.
2. Rooted with a working cwm.
3. A root explorer.
4. A smile!

Instructions :
1. Backup your current rom. (to be on the safe side!)
2. Download this file from the attachment & flash. Its a flashable zip.
3. Shutdown and plug in charger to see these...

MODS:

Q. What the heck is this? What does it do?
A. Once your device completes 100% charging, it disconnects itself from the charger(recall those days of GB where the "green LED" used to go off after full charge.). So in OFF mode... After the device completes 100% this animation will come up to indicate that device is fully charged & it's not Sucking power anymore.

Done that on purpose. Because after charging to 100%, the device disconnects itself. So in order to indicate FULL charge, the green battery comes out. It's just an indication. If you don't like it lemme know.

If you leave the device even after completing 100%, you'll get the green icon. Because the last image that is displayed is when the charge enters 90% - 100% threshold. After completing 100% the device doesn't accept charge. Thus a green icon.
However, I have removed that in ULTIMATE XSX.

Solution Coming up for your hd battery...
What about this? Like it? This would be an indication for rebooting the device as charge is full...
