Hello All,
I am new to the forum and was going to post this strait to the development section, but being a long time reader, i only have noob posting privileges!
After having some issues and getting annoyed with having to disable the noise reduction for every call on my GSII, i thought there must be a way to have it switched it off permanently. I know there are many custom ROM's that do this and a few hacks out there, but none for a completely stock ROM.
I did some investigating and believe i have found a way to get it switched off on completely stock devices (i'm expecting this to work on all Samsung devices that use noise reduction, but still in early days of testing on GSII) (This will also work on custom ROM's). Before spending too much time on developing and testing an application level fix, i thought i should do some "market" research!
So if you still experience the issue with want it a fix for it, please let me know. As i will need some testers once it is a finished product.
Thanks,
Ne0

Excellent news, as my fix can be implemented at an application level i plan to release the fix as application on Google Play, once my noob restrictions have been lifted i will create a thread in the development forum.

Hi
Can you do the same on Asus tf300?
If so I am very interested in getting your help.

Samsung Galaxy S7 G930T TMobile. Echo Problem due to noise Canceling microphone
Was this ever developed? Noise Cancelling is preventing me from using a special adapter on my old Galaxy Tablet (Tab 3 7.0) and Samsung J3 phone.
I NEED to be able to turn it off and on.

From what I've seen Galaxy S is th only phone with Bluetooth 3.0..
I'm just curious as to what this will bring to the table that other phones will not be able to...
I hope there are some nifty bluetooth gadgets in production for our vibrant!
faster data transfer through bluetooth.
You will be prevented from using the Ryan Frawley's Wiimote App! Congratulations on your bluetooth 3.0 phone!
(And to provide at least some helpful information, he has not responded to any questions about the galaxy s line, our future froyo update may fix this for us).
@PathogenX, Yes I knew that...
@SquareBare yes i'm also aware of that.. i'll just have to wait... i'm liking the multi touch control... which works perfectly so i don't mind waiting til froyo to see what happends ...
i guess i was looking to see if this will mean video streaming or something... i think i saw an article like that b4.. but can't remember
anyways Thank you both for ur fast replies ...!!
The SGS family is the only smartphones in the world (if i'm not mistaken) to have BT 3.0. Okay, the Samsung Wave had it first.

Well, more of the blame lies on samsung than Mr. Frawley.
I read somewhere on these forums that Samsung implemented the bluetooth standard in a somewhat bizarre way. Kind of like how you have to swap wires around when you are connecting the video cable to your TV.
From what I see though, Samsung has acknowledged the issue and will correct it with the upcoming froyo update.

Samsung gets the blame for using the latest technology? How does that work?
I read in a press release from January of last year that the two main features of 3.0 is faster transfer and better battery life. In addition there is suppose to be some security enhancements.
It uses 802.11 to transfer the files like wifi does to transfer files to and from you phone.

This isn't the article that I found before but this is one from the source.

The article I seen explained the bt/wifi thing better and said that bt 4.0 should be out by the end of this year.
Hi guys
So the Galaxy S2 is hopefully coming here soon to Canada and I just had some questions about it.
1) I'm pretty used to looking at the Atrix forums and the problems associated with the bootloader and Motorola's lack of interest in updating their phones.
Does Samsung also have a bad rep for updating their phones or are they pretty good about it?
2) Also, I don't see much action happening in the dev forum ATM.
Is that normal because the phone hasn't been released in the states or is there some restriction stopping people from developing for this phone?
b) Or are people not wanting to put custom ROM's on the phone because it's really good?
3) I read something about Canada and an "AWS version". What does that mean?
Those are the main questions I wanted to ask right now when I think of more I'll post them.
Thanks,
Elliott
1) Not so sure sure about Samsung, there have 3 firmware updates so far but news whether they will be updating to 2.4, fingers crossed though..
2) This is not so true, the development scene is doing quite well i'd say most notably from pulser_g2 and his custom VillanRom 1.1, there are 2 other custom roms ready at the moment as well, Light'ning and one by AngeloM, CyongenMod 7 is also in the works as well. my money is on pulser's VR 1.1 one though, I stand by it .
3) Coming from Australia probably not the best to answer but AWS is a spectrum used by USA/Canada telcos how it compares to the others I have nfi.
If your wondering about this phone, i'd say look no further.
Is that normal because the phone hasn't been released in the states or is there some restriction stopping people from developing for this phone?
Its not two months old yet and many devs do not have SGS2 they have to go out and buy out of their own pocket .
b) Or are people not wanting to put custom ROM's on the phone because it's really good
YES
jje
Thanks guys.
Any info regarding questions #1 and 3?
Just adding to #3: it was something about Canada maybe not getting an AWS version or something like that? (and what is AWS?)
Does anyone else have anything to add with regard to my 1st and 3rd questions?
Also, if I get a phone that has the yellowing problem on the screen I should be able to return it for one that doesn't, correct? (I'm with Bell in Canada) [I realize the phone is not out yet in Canada...but when it is]
Bump...anyone?

also people that get pink spots when taking pictures returned it
Thanks. Is that still an issue with the new batch of phones or it still is? I love this phone but I'd rather not buy one knowing that they all have problems...

1 no Samsung are fair and SGS2 has had about five updates .

Hi all,
I upgraded to 2.3.5 stock ROM from 2.3.4 stock one. I don't find the menu navigation to be smooth, I also feel that the sound quality has gone down not at par with 2.3.4 sound quality. Can other users give their feed backs, it might just be my illusion? Can somebody also guide me to get the default nexus S music player installed on my S2. I feel the native android music player always has neat output, I just want to compare it with Galaxy S2. Getting very naggy, anyways I would seek for one more help I recently got to know that my Galaxy S2 doesn't support adhoc wifi connection, doesn't even detect it. I got to know when I installed wifi manager it detects the network but fails to connect saying android doesn't support adhoc wifi network. Plz help I am able to do this with my Ipod touch, its let down I was very proud abt my device.
I am waiting for my folks feed backs to downgrade from 2.3.5 to 2.3.4. Plz reply to my queries

From when Samsung droids users have turned so inactive. folks O am asking for a help. Is nobody willing to reply
Hey man, I have been using 2.3.5 for about a day now. For me it's been pretty good. I'm using the stock kernel and all. Battery life has been decent overall, and colors seem to looker nicer. I like the update so far, granted its only been a day. The only tweek I did was use the Epic 4G Touch Twlauncher apk so I can easily change the default home screen. I do get quadrant scores of average about 3500. I'll update this with more feedback when I spend some more time with it.

I guess everyone is busy replying to the large amount of threads full of questions to which the answer is right under askers nose. Just wait a few days or weeks, the answer to your question will come to you eventually.

Hey sorry friends I didn't mean to hurt to u all, this forum has always been so fast that I expected this to be quicker. Thats it, how can get upset I got s II coz folks here suggested me to. I am proud to be a part of this forum.
Hallo everyone!
First of all - I got myself a smartphone just yesterday for the first time ever, so yes.. I'm even less than a Noob.. you can call me noob^2..
Second: i searched the forum but I did not find a similar topic. Either there is no similar thread yet, or I don't know how to use the Forum search engine properly.. If so, please excuse!
I have a SGS2 i9100 (not G) and android 4.0.3. Not rooted (don't know yet how to so..)
I would like to replace my ipod with the SGS2, but the soundquality is very poor. I would like do connect the phone to an usb DAC (fiio E7 for example), but i read that it is not possible to bypass the internal crap yamaha-DSP. So is there any possibility, hack, or whatever, to send the pure, unprocessed mp3 data to the DAC via USB OTG??
Thank you a LOT!
Not currently possible with the SGS2 & highly unlikely to ever be. Devs who have been asked to have a look at it have all gone 'Nup' because of Samsung's proprietary/closed source drivers & so on. To give you an idea of what devs are up against/why nobody will tackle this, read this post.
Only way it will ever happen is if you code it yourself, or a dev with a lot of time on their hands (there aren't really any of these; the development they do now is done in their spare time & on top of the jobs they have) who actually wants to use this themselves.
Don't ditch your iPod.

Well, that's a pitty!
I read somewhere that android 4.1. (Jelly Bean) supports that USB audio out capability. Is that true, and does that mean, that if I could install jelly bean on the s2, I could use usb audio?
Another, probably stupid, question. Is it possible to install the 'not touchwized' - original - version of android on the s2? Would that make usb audio work, or is it a matter of hardware and drivers??
Thak you for your reply!
Hardware & drivers. Won't work no matter what. Unless a dev makes it work as I said in my previous post.
So right now, no one is trying to make the s2 work..? Would donate if someone succeeds..!
What about the Galaxy nexus phone and about the Galaxy s3? Do these phones support usb audio, even though they are from samsung?
1) No, offering money won't make any difference. There have been threads made in General where people have pledged differing amounts of money; in one thread I offered $20, all up maybe 6-7 people pledged money totaling around $150 to get it working. No devs took up the offer. Seriously, this is something that is very difficult & time consuming to get working, it's not simple like some people seem to think. It just isn't going to happen. Money isn't the issue, the issue is time and/or a desire on the part of a dev to use this feature themselves. No dev so far has had either of those nor a desire to get this working.
The fact it doesn't work on stock roms should tell you something.
2) You're asking in the wrong place, ask in the forums for those phones.

Hi,
I've finally received my Omate.
Before doing whatever:
1) how can I safely detect whether the received model is the right one (should be the 1/8/2100)
I ordered it from the pre-order omate site, not from kickstarter.
2) how can I backup my actual ROM (and other things if needed) before trying to do something?
Thank you very much in advance!
Hello,
sorry but I'm impatient. I have the truesmart now, I've been waiting for months to get it (as we all did!) and now I'm not sure what to do, so I can not use it
Sorry to disappoint you but all you can really do is hoping that the watch will last some time. No respectable developer is supporting anymore the watch. Turn it on and use it as it is, you are on your own, not even Omate will support you.
Some people reported satisfactory experiences with their watches after reading through this forum though. Maybe its because they updated their watches using the patches as recommended. Mine has great battery life and I like the swapplink app. It works for me.
I use mine all the time, works good, especially after installing the ensec rom. I don't have much to complain about anymore.

Thanks.
I will get mine (1GB/8GB Extreme, kickstarter developer version; used) soon. Not sure what rom version it will have.
Can you please send me a link to the latest ensec rom (and how to flash it)? I apologize for being a bit lazy and not reading though all threads.
I saw that most developers quit because they were not properly referenced when some other developer took/stole their work and instead of apologizing even insulted them. Sorry to see that happen and I wonder why xda is not looking into this and responding appropriately (to prevent this from happening again; does not do anyone good). We all want to be acknowledged/rewarded for what we are doing.
There's like 3 roms to choose from in the truesmart development section, one of which is ensec. Everything is in that thread.
Thanks! Seems like 1 developer still is contributing and working on improvements-thanks on behalf of this community to kuronosan.
