[Q] [Xperia U] Alternatives to ScreenFilter? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hello there,
I've been searching the forums for a bit, and I was wondering if there are any alternatives to ScreenFilter for switching off the annoying LED bar at the bottom.
The reason I'm asking is that the app's icon takes up room in the notification bar and that I'd rather have something a bit more discreet.
As far as I understand it, the app toggles the "keyboard backlight" LED off via a system API (there's a Stack Overflow thread about something similar that I can't post the link to - grrr!), but before I go about fishing in the SDK (I'm a dev, just new to XDA) I'd like to know if someone else knows of an alternative.

I saw this app come by a while ago might be of use

Thanks. I use something similar already (Illumination bar), and this appears to require rooting.
I was looking for something that would kill the light altogether while I was on the home screen...

Full screen while watching movies

Hi
Is there a way to get FULL SCREEN while watching movies. Whenever i launch movies on my tab - I still have the bottom line with TouchWiz and clock and more.. I haven't found a tweak that will let me hide that.. Would be awsome that it hides after few seconds while watching something fullscreen ?
Any fix for that? - I looked in the forum for similar questions on this issue, but didn't see it - Thats why i post it .. Sorry if it is a duplicate of another question somewhere here in the forum.. ;-)
Just wondering.. Am i the only one having this issue?

Therr are a couple of posts.
Basically, since there are no hardware buttons, android forces the taskbar to always be shown to allow access to the buttons. There are no hacks for this yet as it will also require the media player to take no taskbar into account and offer a way out of the app.
Okay.. Well i was hoping there was somekind of autohide when fullscreen, and menu could be tricked by a touch.. Hopefully we will see that..

could be tricky to dev this, what you would probably need to do is have an app you run before opening a movie that hides the bar but also places a toggle to show it again on the power button. However if you remapped the power button and the tab froze you could be stuck. Probably best just to live with it
Yeah.. I saw a feature like that on the Ipad, so if it works on Ipad, it should for sure work on Android aswell..

What he said and unfortunately we will not see an auto hide anytime soon.

[SOLVED][Q] Where to change "recent apps" background color?

Hi @all!
I've modded one of JKay's themes to fit my needs but one thing I can't edit/find.
Googled and also searched on xda but I haven't found anything - only something for an other phone which doesn't work on the SGSII. (no RecentApps.smali in systemUi.apk/smali/...)
So where do I set the background color for the "recent apps" menu? (when long-pressing home button)
Thanks in advance!
EDIT:
I somehow haven't noticed the "popup....9.png" files in the framework.
To prevent such stupid threads in the wrong forum in the future, I will cut the i-net connection on the day after a long and hard saturday night. Sorry.

[Q] Tasker Question for Tasker Ninjas

Hello All - was wondering if one of the tasker ninjas out there might give me a bit 'O assistance.
One of the things I find really annoying when using a clock widget is having the status bar time displayed. So invariably turn it off.
Well wodnt you know it, I then constantly find myself wanting to know the time when in an app.
So the question:
How do I setup tasker to turn off the status bar time when it senses I am at the launcher screen and not in an app and turn it back on when I go into an app?
For reference : i777 + CM9 + Apex Pro
Thanks much! Your help is appreciated. My tasker kung-fu is weak.

I would think you could accomplish this goal by using a combination of tasker and autoinput, if you still want to know more let me know

[Q] Samsung Galaxy SIII Assistive light widget as an application

Hi there.
I'm trying to find the best way of LED flashlight activation and ended up with a tought it should be enabled via double home button press. So Wanam Xposed module allows me to choose which application should be started once I pressed Home twice. Ok.
Here is my problem - I used to use a Tasker task that involved TeslaLED plugin to trigger the flash. Then I found the Assistive light widget, which is a way faster in comparison with TeslaLED. It's virtually instant. But a widget is not the way I like to trigger the flash. It's just not convenient. I thought I found the solution when I found some japanese app called Widget to Shortcut, but it hangs during the widget analysis.
So I'm looking for a way to get an application that simply will be triggering the flash the way the Assistive Light does. Instantly. The best approach is to have the same codebase or activity or intent that implements it (not sure what term is correct here).
And yes, I already tried the hidden Settings activity that allows to use VolUp to enable the flashlight. But it seems not stable to me. First - it stops working if the phone in the deep sleep mode (at least, I guess it's the reason). So, if my phone is intact for a few minutes, I can't use VolUp to fire the light up. And other thing I worried about - I found that this hidden activity somehow prevents the phone from sleeping in certain conditions and that noticeably affected the uptime of my Galaxy SIII.
Plus, I read here that somebody said the same widget on S4 has a lower light level of LED and this was made intentionally. The guy was upset, but here I see the utility - is it possible to choose how bright the LED level could be, in particular for Samsung Galaxy SIII? That would be awesome if I could switch between light levels for a flashlight, just like in real hardware flashlights!
Does anybody knows an answer to either of my questions?
Thanks!
Regards,
Eugene

Navigation Bar Bug - Android Pie

Hi there,
I just received the update from Samsung via OTA of Android Pie. After it was concluded, i noticed some strange translucid bars on both sides of the screen. At first, i thought it was some kind of bug related to the Edge Panel. However, when i slide it, it shows the navigation bar buttons.
I couldn't find anything like that in any other XDA post, nor Reddit, nor anywhere else. It doesn't seem to be a feature (or maybe it is, but too advanced for me) and i'd like to know if you have faced something similar. You can find the evidence, here:

If there's no workaround this, then i'll probably just factory reset it.

Look for "One hand operation+" app and you can disable the side navigation handles there.
