Hi I recently flashed the global ics .ftf for Sola and it has been causing a few issues like -
-Sync is not working well
-Installed apps are not showing up on 'my apps' in google play
-Play music and movies don't work
-By default phone was renamed to Xperia Sole (so this is not global but italian version i guess)
-The rom had live ware instead of new smart connect
I tried repairing the phone via Sony PCC but the same firmware was re-installed. Is there a way I can get back my original firmware version. (for US) as per my SI no.?
Thread closed, kindly post in the General Discussion thread next time.

I have a Chinese (PRC) version of the Samsung Galaxy S2. This caused a lot of trouble in the beginning because it doesn't come with the Android market or any of the Google services. Also it didn't allow the installation of non-Chinese ROMs. This was remedied by installing ownhere's hacked mod.
Later it was discovered that you could pretty much put any ROM on the PRC version of the SGS2, as long as you kept the original Modem and CSC. So I did and I'm now running Cyanogenmod 7.
However, now that ICS for the Galaxy S2 has been leaked, I would like to start this thread to provide a source of information for fellow owners of China (PRC) phones so they can update to ICS.
I have downloaded the ICS 4.0.3 package from the above link. I tried the following ways to install it:
- Odin 1.85: repartition, modem, csc AND pda -> NAND write fail in the very beginning, soft-bricked phone, revert to ownhere
- Odin 1.85: repartition and pda -> NAND write fail in the very beginning, soft-bricked phone, revert to ownhere
- Odin 1.85: only pda -> NAND write fail etc etc.
- revert to the original stock Chinese firmware, however I have forgotten the name and code of the firmware and the firmware thread on this forum does not list the latest stock (original) China (PRC) version.
- UPDATE: Tried Bezkes ROM, installed the zip via CWM recovery. Seems to work but many apps still crash, like google maps, the camera, some settings. Functionality is really 差不多.
Has anyone been more successful than me?
I tried kp8 on hk sgs2,home button not working,so give up
Using airbus1.1 and disabled media scanner
Very smooth and okey battery life
And I found that official Facebook apps services is always on,so I using "Simple feed" to replace fb
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
I'm really only talking about PRC phones. The Hong Kong ones are the same ones as anywhere else in the world. PRC phones are modified not to accept non-PRC modem binaries...

Any news for Chinese owners? Perhaps this thread should also be stickied. Last time there seemed to be quite a few owners of Mainland Chinese SGS2's.
I'm using the Chinese S2. I don't know what China's issue is. What's the point of buying an Android phone if there's no Google Apps or Android market?
Hello all. Sorry to have posted in the Neo area but i couldnt find any section for Sony Ericsson Xperia PRO MK16.
I updated my Xperia PRO via WIFI from 2.3.4 and it completed but theres no change at all. In "about" in settings it says Android Version 2.3.4 but in the end baseband says 4.0.2 (or maybe 4.0.4). And even the apps stopped working, requiring update as happens after update but the phone is still using GB and still says Sony Ericsson on restart rather than Sony. Even by looking for updates, the update centre says your phone is up to date but not a single thing changed!
I updated my Xperia neo via the PC companion and its updated to 4.0.4 flawlessly. And on the restart, Sony Ericsson became Sony etc It had asked me to press the back and home button together on restart (i dont know what for but i wasnt asked to do it via WIFI update).
Somebody please help!

Hey Folks,
I Googled, I really did, so don't get angry at me...
As many others, I updated my phone to ICS, and found it really disappointing. Laggy, choppy, and the UI was messed up in few places(like getting to favorites in phonebook). Not to mention the annoying notification LED issue.
So, I went and installed CM 9.1 and tried also the CM 7.2.
Didn't like it, decided to go back to latest stock Gingerbread.
What is the latest OFFICIAL GB?
I've seen a thead about 4.0.2.a.62 on XDA forums, but the link to rapidshare wasn't working. I tired one I found on shady site(yeah, I know, stupid), but it had issues with physical qwerty, and I just didn't trust the software of a random site.
Currently, I'm running 4.0.2.a.58, but I'm receiving notification about an update to .62 via the update center in the phone, but it fails to install. (probably cause I put in a boot.img from CM 9.1 package) Also, the notification is annoying as hell. Any way to remove it?
Can someone please point me to the latest, RELIABLE GB rom? Also, is there a way to put back the original recovery image? (working download links and step by step instructions for a noob would be very appreciated)
To sum it up, how do I get my phone to be like a regular, stock phone from SE with the latest 2.3.4 android?
And no, there is no Sony service point in my country, and the vendor previously refused to honor the warranty and roll back official ICS to GB.
Welcome to the forum. Thread moved, please post all your question threads here in Q&A in future.
Also normally common questions can be answered by reading the sticky threads at the top of General like this one as they normally cover all the basics.
Thanks

Of course you can't do an over the air update on unlocked boot loader, this can brick your phone!
The latest official firmware is 4.0.2.A.0.62 and for Germany (only?) .69 that you can download as a flashable zip
There is no recovery image, xperia devices don't have a stock recovery
You could flash a prerooted kernel for gingerbread (e.g. rage kernel), boot in cwm and flash .69 :good:

Thank you for the information
Now, is there a tested and working .62 image laying around? I've found one, but it messes with my qwerty, and I don't know where it came from and if someone put in bits that shouldn't be there....
The ones shown here in the forums is 4.0.2.A.0.42... (I have the sk17i model)
Hello folks,
Here's what I'm trying to achieve. My two Us are Middle East devices with the SI numbers 1261-8745 (white) and 1261-8746 (black.) As some of you may well know, there was (and still isn't) no "official" ICS upgrade for Mideast-sold U's, so I had to flash ICS manually. I tried several versions of ICS, including Generic_World, but all I got was lag, lag and more lag! Sometimes the problem was so severe that the devices were almost unusable, what with having to reboot several times a day. I mean, heck, my old Xperia Rays, with their inferior hardware, perform much better with their "officially" obtained ICS upgrades - so much so that sometimes I find myself picking them up in the morning and leaving my U's at home!
So, I realized I was much better off with the stock GB that originally was on the devices. Now, I don't have the exact original FTF/kernel that came out of the box, but I'm figuring I should be fine with Generic_World or something similar. Problem is, each time I flash GB (2.3.7), it tells me that an update to ICS is available - which it never did when my phone was still on its original GB, not even through PC Companion. So, what I want is exactly this: to reflash GB and NOT to be notified of the ICS upgrade.
Now, I might have got this all wrong, but from what I've gathered so far, I figured that after flashing the GB rom, I can achieve this by editing the build.prop file and changing the SI numbers to the ones I mentioned above - which should prevent GB from notifying me of the ICS upgrade. Am I correct? Or am I missing something? Please let me know.
Best regards,
Shady
What you can do is that, root your Xperia with the GB f/w and then download an application that is capable of freezing system apps.. Freeze the 'update centre' app and it will not show any notification regarding the update..
Or download any root explorer and delete the same app!

Thanks, but what if I want to do it the hard way? Is there a way to get the phones back to the exact same stock GB that came on them out of the box (i.e. the one for the Middle East) without knowing what that exact version was? Is there a way to "modify" a Generic_World rom to turn it into that?
I also have two other brand new, unmolested U's that are still in lying in their boxes. Is there a way for me to "port" their stock roms into the older ones?
Shady
I was using Xperia 1 J8110 with android 11 lastest ver, but then desired to move back to android 10 but i flashed the wrong FTF which was J9110 android 10, after that i see that my phone doesnt have signal service anymore so i download a stock J8110 FTF. But when i flash it with Flashtool it tell bundle not match with your device. I tried with newflasher but get the error as the pic1 here. PLS help me!
*I flash the wrong FTF with Newflasher with all these file inside at pic2.
Hi,
If you did not solve your problem until now try Xperia Companion (just click here) to go to the original ROM. It should work restoring some original ROM and after that you can do whatever.
Also please keep in mind that the rollback from Andoid 11 to Android 10 is not supported by SONY. It probably has something to do with drivers not being rolled back and sh*t will be breaking so try to stay on Android 11.
