when you rooted the phone using either htc unlock or regawmod the necessary drivers were a prerequisite, you should already have the necessary drivers need to run a ruu. If you for some reason still need to install the drivers then install the htc driver package (v3.0.5). If you do not have or can not find the package, you can download htc sync install package and it will install the necessary drivers

Forgot the second i, thanks.

so it found the drivers but now it wont let me use adb to push a kernal image. is there any other way to do this.

You don't use adb you use fastboot, reboot to bootloader and open the terminal in Adb tools or SDK and run fast boot flash boot boot.img and make sure the image file is in the same folder or type the full extension address for the boot image

[Q] fastboot and adb drivers

Ok to do S-OFF it says to install fastboot and adb drivers. where can I find these?
Someone said it was HTC Sync but in the instructions it says to Disable HTC sync so I am a little confused.

you can download and install HTC sync for the drivers, then uninstall it. the drivers will remain
You don't install fastboot/adb drivers to gain adb. Like the guy above me said, just install HTC sync then uninstall and you'll have the drivers. Then Google adb tools and you'll have them

[Q] fastboot problems

I am in a little bit of a predicament, I relocked my bootloader because I was trying to unroot but it seems I should have flashed a stock rom wit an older radio before locking the bootloader and now I cant fully unroot. so my problem is that I am trying to re-unlock my bootloader via htc dev, but when I go into fastboot and plug my phone in my computer will not for the life of itself recognize my phone. and I tried it on my laptop and the same thing is happening anybody know what could possibly be wrong? any help is appreciated, thank you.
Try a different cable and/or different USB port.

yes I am on windows 8.1 , but I downloaded the new drivers that work for windows 8.1 already.
I'm having the same issue trying to install the new CM. On 8.1, my usb drivers aren't the intel 3.0's, am S-OFF, adb works fine, just unable to get to fastboot to install twrp 2.6.3... Is there another way to install latest twrp? Please forgive me as it seems like I've done it before, but so long ago. Here @ 3am it is escaping me.

Also, Flash Image GUI, if you have a running ROM.
Thanks for the links fellas. I'm attempting to get it working now. Really frustrated with not being able to get fastboot working, but I guess I can live with it.
Edit: Flash GUI is stuck trying to flash it. Flashing as zip failed. Goomanager won't download the file at all. Think I am doomed here...
Re-edit: Flash GUI ended up flashing it correctly... thanks

Stock RUU HOX+ International Version.

Hi, i have a big problem.. I was flashing a rom but it falied and now im stuck in white screen HTC quietly brilliant.

Could you tell me where i could find it? I have searched and can not find it in anywhere. Thnks
WRONG SECTION!
Anyways, I believe there's one stock Rom collection thread in the Android development section. Shouldn't be hard to find, just scrolled past it today.

Ok sorry,
I thought this was the right section.
I found a post with a collection of stock RUU
but I get error signature (132) and says it finds the correct version and try again.
My device does not pass the white HTC screen, bootloader is relocked and the current version is 2.18.707.5 and I'm trying to install is 1.17.401.1 and gives me error.
I can not flash the boot.img or backup because the phone does not recognize it when I connect the pc.

Anyway , don't waste your time
Till now we can't find a suitable RUU for updated HBOOT like yours
All you can do is to unlock your bootloader again and flash a custom ROM and a kernel ( BOOT.IMG )

Bro, i cant unlock again the bootloader cause the phone is not recognized by the pc.
I tried to do it from the All In One Toolkit, Vemom Flasher, and ADB and I could not because the phone is not recognized. And if I have the drivers installed, and htc sync manager.
How I can do?
Remove the original HTC drivers and try this universal adb driver
http://adbdriver.com/
My HOX+ wasn´t recognized at all with the HTC drivers by adb.

I tried to install the "adb installer" and uninstalled the original drivers from HTC, and the installation process tells me "device not found"
I was reading that there may be "bricked" the phone. I try to do anything and for any reason the pc recognize my phone.
I think either your phone is nuked or your usb port is (usb is likely, since I've got that problem once too, sent my com to repair and it's working now)

There is no Stock RUU for HTC One X + (Version International) to download? I mean the exe file. I was trying to flash this:

No Ruu available yet that work for our updated hboot
U need to get ( fastboot USB ) in bootloader to be ready to flash , ana u must bein recovery to sideload a ROM , I can't help more , never got a similar problem
Hey,
If you have HBOOT 1.70 like I did the only way to restore ROM is via a TWRP back-up.
Take a look at this thread, this is how I got it running again.

I always thought the drivers install when you plug the device into computer when phones in fastboot. anywho try the ones in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979 or use the windroid root toolkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2499926

Ok, I will try that, ty.
Windroid HTC desire x toolkit works best for this.

Awesome!
So, if I am on BadBoyz 3.2 currently, and am S-on, my path forward would be:
Restore my stock, unmodified backup
Lock bootloader
Run/flash RUU
Unlock bootloader
Am I missing anything?

Well, I'll be damned!
I should have any important local data backed up at this point, so it's probably better to just nuke the thing and start with a fully clean install.
So, just windows drivers, run RUU, boom fully stock Nougat build and FW, still unlocked, ready for TWRP and a rooted ROM? That easy? No April Fools?? :cyclops:
:edit:
I may fire this off at work, so I haven't installed HTC drivers on this computer yet. Just plugging the phone in, I see no unknown devices in device manager. I see "0PGA2" in portable devices, and also ADB interface in USB devices. ADB Devices returns:
List of devices attached
HT54LSV05110 offline
Still smart to install HTC drivers? Anything newer than 4.2.0?

That would be an issue with S-on though, right? I was hoping that the RUU.exe would take care of it all in one shot. Or is firmware flashing first only needed with the SD card method?

I'm not sure...but u can still flash the signed firmware when s-on
I am wanting to run the RUU exe, but am hesitant because ADB doesn't seem to be working properly.
I have tried a few versions of ADB.exe, older ones show the device as "offline", newer ones say "unauthorized".
I've tried every troubleshooting step I can think of, forcing install of latest Google drivers (code 10 driver can't start in device manager), restarting the computer and phone multiple times, toggling USB debugging, manually pushing the adbkey.pub file to data\misc\adb\adb_keys\, toggling the USB connection to "charging" mode, etc.
Nothing seems to work. Best I can tell, the phone should prompt me for an RSA authorization. Any ideas? Does it matter for RUU exe?

I was really just trying to pull some files, because MTP sucks. When I couldn't get it to work, I wondered if that signified some issue in the USB connectivity which could cause an issue running the RUU exe via USB.
No worries?

Yeah, tried that one as well. Says unauthorized.
You think that presents an issue for the RUU? I got the files transferred.
:edit:
Apparently so. The RUU said it couldn't connect to the phone. (Error 170)
Phone says it is "connected as media device" / "use USB for file transfers".
Device manager shows Android USB Devices -> My HTC, and also Portable Devices -> 0PJA2. Can transfer files via MTP.
Do I need to install the whole Android SDK or something?
::edit2::
I uninstalled all HTC and Android drivers / software. Installed HTC Sync Manager (which installs the drivers needed), but when I run it, it says "no phone connected". Same situation where I can see the phone storage as an MTP device, but something seems to be missing.
Sorry for all the handholding!
I think I should just flash the signed firmware (full firmware from RUU in your thread, right?), then the RUU zip version, like you suggested before.
Hmmmm... that didn't work
I wasn't able to run the RRU.exe from my pc. My bootloader was unlocked and i was s-on.
I tried to flash the firmware from the sd card and it stayed on the htc screen. So i just went with the RRU.zip.
I ended up getting the RRU.zip from here and putting it on the sd card and renaming it as mentioned. That worked for me and i am up and running on the nougat.
