[Q] anyone experiencing option chooser or th3bill's rom? - Motorola Photon 4G

There is a post by niphoet that he cannot install certain roms.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1961248&page=13
I actually experiencing exactly the same for my photons. Problem with rom option choosing, GSM option not installed correctly for certain roms; the latest 1104,1102 and some of the old roms too Changed th3bills recovery but this did not work either.
Anyone experiencing same? Any suggestions?

I have the same problem with gsm in cm10 11/04

Fixed this isssue temporary by flashing gsmfix came out in the past. btw, anyone having GPS issue for recent roms?

On a CM9 rom that I was using my GPS didn't work at all. Now I'm using Th3Bill's Paranoid Android 2.99 and the GPS did come on, nav started up with the correct directions, but the GPS wouldn't turn off afterwards despite doing so in the settings. Rebooted the phone and GPS is off which is better for the battery, not a major issue especially since GPS wasn't working at all before

Have you tried a redownload of the ROM, comparing the MD5 Hash of the download, perform a FULL data and dalvik wipe and reflash the ROM, GAPPs and C2C if you use it?

No I'm not sure what the md5 is so I didn't download that. I have tried redownloadind and performed the full wipe procedures. And may I ask what C2C is?

Two things. First I've used GSB v2.9 and my GPS works just fine. "I tried GPS fix apps" is rather non-specific. There are at least a few of them out there and some of them do almost nothing. That being said, I agree that a full wipe/reflash is warranted.

Doesn't the "supersonic" listed before the change mean that the change applies to the HTC supersonic phone, as opposed to the ones listed as "common" refer to changes that are common across the board?

I think that you're right. That said, GPS has been rock-solid on GSB for my phone as well. I was using it constantly last week on 2.9 while traveling and it was perfect, with very rapid lock, etc. Now, I did do a flash-over of 2.8 (which may have been flashed over 2.7 -I don't remember at this point.) You may want to try installing an older version (or Nandroid restore, if you already have it), see if GPS works, then flash 3.0 (and gapps, of course) over that with a Dalvik wipe.

[Q] Gps never locks on cm7.2 stable

Hi, researching for a family member here, so sort of new to the Aria forums (what's left of them).
Basically GPS is never locking on. This is new since the upgrade to 7.2 from 7.1 stable. From what I have read it at least WAS a known problem in the RCs, and i saw this thread with some flashable zips for other gps libraries. Does that sound like a solution, or does anyone have any other ideas?
Which zip would you go for first? I had said try the reverted cm one, but would it be better to just use stock?
Thanks for your help!
I'd suggest the stock libs first. If that doesn't work out try the reverted.

Thanks, worked with the reverted ones just fine.
i've fixed it with the free gps status , just change filtering option and change it back if you want , and it will lock fast

[Q] any one using CM 10.1 for Moto Atrix by Emerson Pinter?

I am using Cyanogenmod 10.1 for Moto Atrix by Emerson Pinter on my MB860, the wifi does not work, not any wifi can be search.
But i install the CyanogenMod 10 for Moto Atrix by Emerson Pinter, the wifi work fine. Any one know how to fix it?
I dont know Emerson Pinter's email to tell him, and I found this xda forum but i cannot post on his thread.
Wow, really? How about you just look in the ROM thread? It's all been explained...
Not sure he'd appreciate random emails from random people, especially if the given issue has already been covered so many times...
Also, for future reference - it is extremely unwise (if not even stupid) to flash something and not even bother to find out what it is and what it does. CM10.1 is a highly experimental ROM. Again, this has been said countless times before.
yes, I know this rom is experimental and this phone is not my major mobile.
Also thanks Emerson Pinter. Just to share the issues what it is happened.

Install the 20/07 version. Install the 3.1 kernel manually over it which is in epinter's CM10.1 thread (not on his first post and the pain I went through just to search it through posts is beyond words).
Also tell us which radio version are u using. It worked fine for me on AT&T's .33 and .37p radios.

Feedback after using 20130804
Sorry I am too new to XDA so i cannot provide any response in development thread yet. I am now currently on epinter's CM10.1 of 2013-08-04. So far I don't experience any screen tearing or random reboot on this version. Wifi and GSM are working as well.
Additional information:
- Memory type: Hynix 54nm
- Panel: 0x740
- Tegra Revision: A04 Prime
- Tegrapart: 1100:100:800
- Baseband: N_01.100.00R
- Simcard plugged
- MicroSD plugged
Hope this helps a little.

Rom: cm-10.1-20130807-UNOFFICIAL-epinter-olympus.zip
Kernel: kernel-cm10.1-20130808_0352-epinter-olympus-hporch32.zip
My Atrix is running the above rom & kernel without any WIFI issue.
But it has the bluetooth problem, it can establish the communication, but there is no sound coming from my car bluetooth or my garmin device whenever I tried to make a phone call. Anyone experience the same issue on this 0807 rom?

It's a known issue. BT audio works only for media, not for phone calls.

First - thank a lot guys for the wonderful ROM!
I have similar problem with wifi, installed latest:
cm-10.1-20130824-UNOFFICIAL-epinter-olympus
gapps-jb-20130301b-olympus-signed
+
kernel-cm10.1-20130824_0307-epinter-olympus-hporch32
wifi was working for short time, and then - nothing.
I attach dmesg messages to this post, please help. The ROM is great, the only trouble is wifi for me.

The 8/24th release uses an old WiFi driver which is not compatible with every Atrix out there. Have you tried 8/26th release? It uses the newer WiFi release. (you can check EPinter's page for details)

Thanks! I have epinter's 26/08 release, both kernel and the ROM. Wifi works a little better, but far from ideal. Often Wifi connection disappears (good signal conditions) and I have to restart it. However at this point - the Wifi settings page gets stuck (turning on Wifi, bla bla settings are not responding, wait/kill dialog) and requires closing the Settings application. I find it interesting that upon fresh phone boot Wifi connection is established sometimes smoothly, sometimes not, however even if the connection is established - the troubles always happen later.
Just for those who will tell me to make wipe of /data, /cache, etc prior to the installation. This all has been done including formatting of /preinstall and /system.
Without Wifi and cable now I cannot attach the dmesg file, I will do it later from home.

For me, the Wi-Fi is stuck on "Turning On" and hasn't worked even once.
I am on 08/26 build, and I am using kernel-cm10.1-20130903_1952-epinter-olympus-hporch38.zip. I wiped everything I could wipe using TWRP before installing this rom and kernel (can use TWRP only, because my volume down key doesn't work anymore).
Anyone has any ideas about how to fix WiFi?
Thanks in advance.

Did you properly flash it?
That build has a different wifi module than that kernel expexts, you need latest build with latest kernel

I guess so. TWRP says everything went smoothly. The phone boots fine. Not sure what you mean by "properly" flashing. Am I missing something?

I doubt if there's a kernel that is released after 09/03. If yes, could you please point me to the latest kernel? Also, I believe 08/26 is the latest rom available on epinter's website.
Thanks for your responses.

Crash on screen orientation

Hi,
I hope I'm in the right section for this.
Since I updated to Android 4.3 (latest HellyBean build), my phone crashes after a few screen orientation changes.
Does anyone know what the reason for this strange behaviour could be?
Thanks for your help!

You did full wipe before flashing the rom?
If this happening again and again then flash the rom again to check
Thanks for your response!
Yes, I did a full wipe, but I will try flashing it again.
Could this probably relate to build.prop mods?
Edit: Seems like a broken design was the problem. Activating the stock one fixed it, at least until now.

If when you go to settings->wifi it says "Wifi is turning on" or something relevant to that
you should reinstall rom and make sure you Factory Reset on CWM.
wifi issue
I did all the steps correctly (factory reset-wipe dalvik-wipe cache-format system-format data) but didn't work for me again
It's typically a kernel issue. See if there is another compatible kernel for PA for your phone.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say in the forum for your phone where you got the rom from...Search in the PA thread. Surely others have tried different kernels there or search for others with wifi issues with that version and see if there's an easy fix.
