I guess the person who has had my number last has had credit issues. They keep calling even tho I told them this is my new number.
Any recommendations on a good call blocker?
Thanks

Could also use Call Blocker Pro from the Play Store (paid app), and Comodo Mobile Security also blocks calls. There are others. Choose which one you prefer.
Note, GT-I9100 has the ability to block voice calls from within the phone menu settings.

Van someone help me get rid of this dam Google voice. I have uninstalled it went online and unchecked it and still it takes my voicemails. I also tried *72 and nothing. Help help please.

Try setting it up again. Skip the integration, then pick your carrier when it prompts you where you want your vms
For getting Sprint VM to work again
Dial *38, wait for the beeps, then hang up.
Supposedly this works after uninstalling GV. If it does let us know please.
Try *720.

You may need to delete all numbers from GV. Then try putting a new number in. That was the only way I could get rid of GV integration,
I just went online and dis-associated my phone. It's worked twice so far. The only reason I keep Voice is personalized greetings for individuals and it saves my messages and call logs.

Hey guys,
I have question regarding AT&T call forwarding. I know how to forward incoming calls on phone A to phone B, but my question is, can I forward outgoing calls from phone B to A also?
I have two AT&T phone numbers, but I don't wan't some people to know about my second phone number. Is there any way I can make phone calls on one phone, but make it appear like i'm calling from the other one?
I tried googling this like crazy, but I'm not even sure what the outgoing forwarding is called.
Thanks in advance

Wow, I've been using Google voice since 2010 for voicemail, and never took the time to look at its other features.
Thanks a lot guys

I actually still don't see an option to change the outgoing caller ID to my cellphone number.
Have you set up Google Voice to give you your own personalized phone number yet?

Yes, I've had my google voice number for about a year now. I have google voice set up on my phone for voice mail only.
From what I've read, what I'm trying to do is not possible.

No...you can't spoof it to show your "b" tele number.
It would have worked better with one att number and one Google voice number.
Unless there is an app that will do it.

I think they were suggesting you just get another Google Voice number to hide your real number. I'm guessing you can't use the same Google Voice number on multiple phones at the same time, but worth a try I suppose...

In the past, when I've blocked numbers through Sprint's 'My Device' preferences, the people I block that text me would get a quick text back from a 5 digit number stating that my phone isn't accepting text messages. That was when I was with any sense ROM, especially stock. With CM10.1 it does nothing. I'm assuming this is because it doesn't have the PRL Update, Profile Update, and Sprint Zone. Does anyone know if that is true? If that is true, before I give this a try myself, does anyone know if Sprint Zone is safe to run on an AOSP ROM? I'd assume not but at the same time I would think it would be alright. Or maybe Sprint just doesn't notify users anymore that another user isn't accepting text messages? Any help will be appreciated greatly.
Edit: I flashed MeanBean and that didn't seem to make a difference. Even with the service update immediately after making the changes. I'm at a loss here.

Try Mr. Number ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mrnumber.blocker) I find it helpful for unknown numbers as well since users can leave comments about telemarketers and what not.

Use a black listing app from the play store or the feature inside the SMS menu if your ROM supports it

i recc a blacklisting app over all else. But yeah you can do that from sprint.com or just give sprint customer service a call, and they will do it for you.

Huh. That's odd. Never had that problem with that. I know that customers can do that through Sprint.com. The problem isn't finding a way to block numbers. The problem is that when I use any block option on Sprint.com that anybody who texts me, who isn't in Sprint, won't receive a message stating that my phone isn't accepting messages. Even though Sprint reps say that all users on any carrier receive that message. But I didn't expect a Sprint rep to know what they're talking about.
For future reference to everyone: read the post before replying. Just an idea.
Thanks for the help.

Im wondering if there is a app or a way to have another number tied to my phone by a app. I want to set up a business but i don't want to use my personal number if i don't have to. Maybe even a number that people can text also. I have paid for groove ip before but its not a dedicated number people can call or text.

Google voice is your answer.
Set it so you can choose between your regular number and your google number when doing an outgoing call.
Texts to the google number go through the google voice app, while your regular number gets it in your normal messaging app.
Any incoming calls will be routed through your normal phone app.
I have never been able to get google voice to work is there a set up instruction page?

Also, You could always unlock it (cheap and easy) and buy a prepaid plan sim from another carrier (I see you are ATT like me. T-mobile sims work on our model if unlocked, vs vzw or sprint). Suppose you could skip the unlock and do the same on your existing carrier.
Then of course there are the options your carrier have for a second line.
I don't remember if there was a setup instructions but I set up Google voice on the computer and it was very easy. That's what I did for my business so the phone rings with both numbers
You can also add a regular voip account into the phone app to use data instead of voice for phone calls. I use it all the time with a voip.ms account.

Verizon's visual voice mail is giving me lots of problems on the G3. Well actually the same problems after the kitkat update on the G2 too. 50% of the time I get a no data connection error and have to refresh. That or turn off wifi for a while which seems to handle it better. It's a real nuisance. Anyone else see anything like this? I'm thinking it's a combination of Kitkat and Verizon.
Yes. It's horrible. Same on Droid Maxx.
My solution is perfect. Use youmail visual voicemail. And use the app better youmail. It avoids the annoying contact sync that youmail uses. And you can change every setting and then some.
The only feature that doesn't work is, if you integrate the voicemail in your call log, it will show up but you can't hit play. But if you have a notification of a missed voicemail it will play from there just fine.
Highly recommend. Worth the cost.

They also don't say how much it is on the play site. Is it a monthly service or one time charge?
One time charge for the app. 4.99 I think. It's worth it. No annoying contact sync that youmail app has.

The voice mail notifications seem to clear and not return whereas on my s3 cleared voice mail notifications would come back.
To me it is the worst thing about the phone. It's almost unusable. How can it be so hard to manage voice mail? This is the kind of stuff that makes me re-think iphones as an option. . . . nah.. not yet.
Seriously, it is a hand off issue I think. This should just silently fail until it gets a good enough signal. It's just amazingly annoying otherwise.
If I put in my T-Mobile sim and install their visual voicemail, it works great. Same with Cricket.

Google Voice.
By the way, I tried that Youtalk app and it was the worst piece of S I have ever tried to use. It didn't work at all. I'll just suffer through the missed data connections of the Verizon app.
Why not use Google voice?

Amen to youmail! Love using it with better youmail app to avoid annoying contact sync and gain extra features. Disappointed that vm call log integration doesn't work well though.
