Think you want nelp3 or 4.
Where can I get nelp I've tried a few links and they're all removed?
Sent from my GT-I9100
The nelp3 is in the uk s2 owners thread (page 2) in general section.
The other ones from veyka(in my sig).
OK thanks a lot got nelp4 so this should be fine to just use CMW?

Need assistance please. I upgraded my GT-I9100 via KIES to 4.0.4. Now my modem is not working. Kernel version 3.0.15-I9100XWLPT-CL941023.
I did install version 4.0.3 back to to check and modem was working again. When I updated the software again, same thing happened. Tried various other modems that I could find on XDA forum, but none seems to be working.
Can anyone assist me in finding the correct modem for South Africa for (4.0.4)
What modem is it? Q6?

Gday,
Basically I've been reading through countless threads throughout the site involving flashing my Samsung Galaxy S2, I've came up with a very rough idea on how I'm going to do this and I am very sure I've got it under control but I've made this thread just to make sure I'm not going to ''brick'' me phone and and because I'm a noob.........
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2
Model Number: GT-19100T
Baseband Version: 19100TDULP4
Kernel Version: 3.0.15-19100TDULPB-CL710191
Build Number: IML7.DULPB
I do live in Australia and my Galaxy S2 was locked to the Carrier VODAPHONE but its been unlocked and now uses a TELSTRA sim....
Now my question I believe my phone is all stock and Ive chose the custom firmware I'm interested in using
[ROM][JB:CM10:HYBRD] PARANOIDANDROID [2.13,True HybridMode, Size&UI on PerAppBasis]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619582
So for me to be able instal this firmware i need to root my phone ? to put a custom kernel on it?
Ive searched through the forums and haven't really worked out what kernel I need?
Is this what i need to use to install the firmware I chose ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399&page=617
Hhahaha
I know how to go bout instal the firmware its just the making the phone to let me is the problem????
Any help would be great!!!
And suggestions, i did think that maybe my model could not instal that firmware?
READ READ READ! there is no shortcut... but this is what I did...
READ READ READ! there is no shortcut... but this is what I did...
went Voda 2.3.3 to Telstra ICS using Checkfus to get .tar/.md5. Got sick of that, rooted with CWM. Then went NeatRom which has Siyah kernel. Crap data speeds, so pulled out modem from Telstra ICS rom (modem.bin), put that in which fixed data speeds... chucked CRT-off mod on for the hell of it.
1. You need to root your device first.
2. Then flash a custom kernel
3. Backup your present ROM
4. Download ParanoidAndroid and Gapps
5. Backup your important data
6. Flash ParanoidAndroid.
Done.
If you have any questions, let me know

the things you should always care about when downloading and flashing are:
1. Your phone model NO. Is it compatible with my phone? This is a very important question. Stuffs meant for GT I9100 are compatible with your phone whereas stuffs meant for GT I9100G are not compatible.
2. Your Android version
3. The base of your firmware or custom ROM. Unmodified firmwares are based on Samsung. Stock based custom ROMs are also based on Samsung. CYANOGENMOD, AOKP Miui are based on AOSP
4. Your Kernel. Most custom kernels are dependent on your Android version or the base of your firmware or custom ROM

As Jokesy said, just make sure you flash a ROM made for the i9100(T,M,P) and NOT the i9100G. It will kill your phone.
Also, if you flash a 4.0.4 ROM, make sure it has a custom kernel such as Siyah kernel. This removes the MMC_CAP_ERASE brick bug that so many have been hit by. It's associated with stock 4.0.4 Samsung ROM's, it just kills your phone when you wipe data/factory reset in stock CWM. Just a note for future flashing.
Sorry for the noob questions but IM just clearing stuff up before I go ahead with the flash.
Because model number is extremely important does it matter that my phone is GT 19100"T"

No mate, the i9100T/M/P are all linked with the international i9100. The i9100G has different hardware meaning the ROM's made for it won't work on the international i9100 and i1900M/P/T and vice versa. Good luck.
Yep all good so my Android version is 4.0.3 I just checked, I should be good to go I'll report back once I've finished thank you fellas ! IM not sure what that killa posted was talking about but IM just going to follow through with what you have said and hope it works

Modems deal with network signal, mobile internet and GPRS. Rarely need to change them unless you experience poor reception on your phone. Here is a link to a thread with a whole load of modems if you wish to have a look: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131950
Modems do not have to match your kernel version, modems will work on GB, ICS and JB. They don't have to match the firmware on your phone, just in case you were wondering. Any other questions, don't hesitate posting here and I'll do my best to answer them.
oh awesome mate I really do appreciate the help as like I said I'm just confirming in me head before I give ths green light, ha there any particular way I need root my model of phone seems there's a few different ways ? thanks once again

Just had a quick search and found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227762
The third or fourth post says you can use i9100 methods to root the i9100T. However, it will change the product code to i9100 (don't think this is a problem, just more of would it annoy you)?
You can use CF-Root which is very easy to use. Please dial *#1234# and post your results.
Nah doesn't worry me at all, is this.what your after

Hello guys,
i have searched around forums about rooting the S2 and encountered alot, but I still have my fears as none of them was specifically for the version I have, detailed below. Please give me some links regarding this version because I dont want to loose my phone
and yes, I am an intermediate computer user. So I will understand most of the terms anyway. Thanks.
Model: GT-I9100
Android Version: 2.3.5
Baseband: I9100BUKI1
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKDD-CL161513 [email protected] #2
Build: GINGERBREAD.BUKJ3
Thanks guys
Ive no time to search properly but youd be better updating to 4.0.3 for your region etc then root from there.

Where can I find a CWM flashable XXELLC Modem? I am able to find multiple other ones but not that one?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
The modem that came with XXELLC was XXELLA as far as I can work out, so in short, there isn't one
Ah, gotcha, for some reason I thought I had that before, guess I'll just have to try a different one as XXELLA isn't the greatest in my area. Thanks for the reply
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
In my XXELLA the baseband is BUELL1 - and after a few days i think it looks better in the status bar, but under settigs-akku i have a worse mobile signal.
The xxellc builds didn't come with any specific modem just download the latest cwm flashable zip for your location a good way to the find out would be to go to Sam firmware. Com and go to the firmware checker it should be able to tell you what the latest modem, csc, and pda it is. I know cause I had the same problem I have an Indian s3 with the xxellc build number, but after going to the firmware checker I figured out that my baseband is ddelk1.
Hello there! I have a i9300 with CM 10.2. Works really nice! I also have TWRP. I looked everywhere for a compatible modem and RIL set because original set (that came with the phone and was modified by CM) doesn't show my signal strength corectly (it is a HUGE number). I'm looking for an unbranded, Europe modem. Also, thanks for reading my first post!

I think you are new to here.. would be better to read Faqs and Guides First to Know about your device and do rest of the things else you will mess up with it..
As far as I know, you should flash a modem without Ril because Cm have his own, or you will end up with a No Signal..
I have flashed ROMs on my Samsung Galaxy S since 1 year so I know some stuff. I never worked with modems and RILs. I knew CM has it' s own RIL but I thought maybe it would work with other RILs too. My modem is XXLF5. Also, the modem you have is umbraded? Because my phone isn't bought from Orange, it's unbranded by default.
By the way, thanks for giving me tips! Much appreciated!

I have flashed BUEMC2 modem(no Ril) with cm 10.2 and it's all OK for me even if the Ril don't match with the modem, but I'm from Italy with Vodafone carrier.. Here is a list of modem+Ril for the i9300 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2076857
if you want only the modem, delete the System folder that is in the zip file.

I'll look for a modem that suits my needs and post back the result! Thanks!
Edit: If I install a branded modem onto an unbranded device what will happen?
Edit 2: I installed BVELK1 branded to Orange (even if the phone is normally unbranded by default) and works fine! I'll keep testing and I'll decide if I keep this one or resume my search. Thanks a lot!

From what I've read, Modem are related to your SIM card carrier and country .. In fact my phone was branded Tim, but my modem is for Vodafone / Europe , matching my actual carrier and works very well..

Hey
I had the same problem with the high dBm values after installing another modem/RIL
around 1200dBm for weak signal strength und ca. 1900dBm for good signal.
After reinstalling the RIL that came with CM10.2 everything worked fine (I made a Nandroid-backup)
The RIL is just the files in /system/lib/
libril.so
libsec-ril.so
right?
if yes => i could upload it (but I'm not shure if this will break any certificates)
