When I have my phone tethering switched on and leave it on sleep for a about 10 minutes while tetgering it completely loses all signal bars and data connectivity its happened with the last couple of cm 10 night lies and other android 4.1.2 and 4.1.1 custom ROMs but as soon as I wake the device it restores the signal and data within seconds. I've flashed different radios and tried the new siyah kernel but none of them changed what is happening, Any Ideas?????

I started flashing custom roms to my current phone 2 years ago, but now it started to bother me about my data connection. When I was in stock, I had a very reliable data connection (4G I believe). However now, it does not even connect to 4G. Is flashing a custom ROM (originally GB, now JB) affecting my data connection? This bothers me a lot as whenever I'm not in wifi range the internet becomes very unreliable, especially when using it with GPS.
Another potential related topic is modems. Is that really related to my problem? How do I know if I have an updated version?
Settings, about device, baseband version is your modem. Different roms will flash different modems. If you used to get good connection, then you flashed a rom, and now you don't the modem could be the problem. Try a different modem. Flash it and use it a day or two before you flash a different modem as it may take a day or two to settle in. If after a day or two you are still unhappy flash a different one and try it out. For me in my area I prefer UCLE5, but you may operate better under a different modem.

Two answers.
1. Yes, different firmware loaded with different modem will affect your mobile connection. If you know your original modem, then reflash it again.
2. How do you know that it was 4G? Based on tested data rate or just purely depended on the little 4G icon showed on the status bar?
Just fyi, SS stock ROM always indicates 4G even though it's not 4G rate while the custom ROMs such AOKP does indeed displays the correct mobile speed.
I did some searches on this and I can't find anything on this.
I've just noticed that my phone is stuck on 'H' signal, it can scale up to H+ as normal but as soon as the data has finished transmitting it will go back to 3G for a split second before returning to H and staying there. This has happened for a few days. I've noticed that my phone is getting unbearably hot (with a UV CPU and GPU, fully tested, stable) and my battery life is awful.
I've now gone back to a completely stock system, ODIN reflashed the GMK6 update (stock recovery, kernel, modem and ROM - ROM was always stock anyway) and the problem still persists.
I'm going to phone my network in the morning to see if they've done anything in the area or if anyone else is reporting the issue but has anyone else ever witnessed symptoms like this?
More background: I've recently tried ArchiPort 4.4 before going back to stock and I've been using the Devil2 kernel for more than 9 months. In the UK on the Three network, which is 3G only, no 2G.
Hi guys,
Last week I loaded the latest SOKP rom to try on my i9305, it's a great ROM and I wouldnt like to change.I had to change carriers a couple of days ago and have had issues since then.
Firstly the signal indicator on LTE was constantly going up and down in multiple good reception zones - so I tried some different modem files and found XXUEMKC works well. Now after LTE is connected for a few hours, especially idling, the signal indicator goes orange and no data flows, I need to turn off data and turn it back on to make it work again.
Any ideas?
Having this strange issue now for a while. Phone will operate normally 75% of the time when i hit the power button, but the other 25% it seems that the screen will turn off and then it will fail to go to deep sleep and loses mobile signal. Once it does this it drains the battery very rapidly like 8% and hour so suddenly in 4-5 hours i might have lost all my days remaining charge. If i catch it in time, only way I can get network signal to come back is to reboot the phone. I just got a replacement sim tray from htc, and a new sim from VZW and that hasn't fixed the issue. I've tried flashing the latest RUU and that hasn't helped. Issue persists no matter what os version I am using. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
I was having network/battery drain issues last week. Under network settings I changed from global to LTE/CDMA mode and things seem better so far.

I am currently on my fourth DNA, each one of them having issues with the mobile data went into "Disconnected" stage regardless weather its on CDMA/LTE or global. Switching it on / off to airplane mode didn't help either. I just finally move to custom ROM (CM12 Lollipop 5.0.2) on the weekend. It seems to be better now. The LTE speed still sucks though as compared to another phone next to me.
Hmm. Not sure if anything changes, but after a reboot last night of ROM CM 12 5.0.2 unofficial, today my LTE speed tests have been averaging over 15mb download. I'm on this ROM for 5 days now.
I have been running NuSense Six for last few months and all of a sudden the phone now locks up all the time. As of last night my Wi-Fi dropped and could never connect. I switched roms and went to a Stock rooted 5.0.2 Rom and it's the same thing, I can't connect to any network and my phone will lock up and not charge, or will just slow charge and take almost a day. Anyone know what may be wrong?
