Why in the word didn't they use the pogo pins? thats what they are there for. That connector plugged in to the usb port is hideous.. Plenty (maybe all) of other powered cases that use pogo pins. My ATT One XL Mugen power case fits the ATT One X+ just fine, in case anyone was wondering about compatibility. And you can still access your USB port.

Yeah that is weird how the Iphone one does'nt use the usb port but the OneX+ one does. My battery is fine personally but a power case is the way to go if you have battery shortage issues do to heavy use. I have the solar charger so I never worry about battery when I'm out I just throw it on my dash ready to roll. The one you have sounds pretty slick tho Im gonna have to check that out.

And that's the question. Does the Verizon model work well? And by "well," I mean "fast."
I saw a Seido charger in another thread, but there's no way I'm waiting 12 hours for my extended battery to charge.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I use this one http://www.amazon.com/Anker-Multi-Purpose-Universal-Thonderbolt-Revolution/dp/B0058XCV7O
it charges my standard battery in about 2 hours. It even has a usb plug and a micro usb plug so that you can charge your phone while you charge your extra battery. it works with every (android phone) battery i've tried so far. it should work on your extended batteries also. its cheap too!
I've got two of these. Work great!

I also bought the Anker charger but it is a pain to line up the pins each time. I'm terrified I'll short out my expensive batteries!

Thank you. Just bought two for $8.50 total. Hell of a deal!
KORM via the beast known as the Rezound.
Just picked up the Anker charger - beyond happy with it, but I doubt it will last the life of my phone. I was just happy to charge my standard and extended batteries at the same time.
The USB port did not seem to have a full charge pass-through, sort of like charging from a USB adapter in my car. Seems to provide a trickle charge.
Otherwise very happy to have it.
Thanks again guys, for the suggestions.

I have a charger very similar to the one suggested by SamXp. But I got the package deal that comes with a 1500mah battery included, made by HyperCel: (due to the rules I can't post links yet)
The battery was complete garbage IMO, it's not a solid "slab" like the OEM one. The part where the charging pins connect is separate from the cells and pretty much just wrapped in flexible plastic. Definitely not going to trust that in my phone.
I have a question though: I seem to have issues with the touchscreen responsiveness when I'm using USB output charging port. Anyone else seen this? The OEM charger (and my laptop's USB port) don't have this issue. It's annoying because I have to unplug my phone to shut off alarms, answer calls, etc. Does the anker charger have this problem? Could someone who owns one test for me? I've tried with both a generic micro usb cable and the oddly-shaped HTC OEM cable with the same results.

It has a red charging light and when charging is complete that same light turns white. You will need a microUSB cable...
Just picked it up today, they said its a week old. I notice if i move the phone around while its plugged in, it will light up randomly and stop charging. The cable doesn't really click in either like most other phones. Is the charger messed up or the actual charger port?

Please post all questions in the q&a section.
What kind of charger are you using? If it's not the OEM charger that actually fits fully into the port and you're just using a regular usb cable, that will happen because it doesn't fit in securely the way the oem charger does.

OEM charger, black says HTC on it. When the charger is moved upwards it loses connection. The charger port feels firm when using a toothpick to move it around. It isn't actually loose.
Charger says htc, but is the cable the correct one and second question is, is the charger the correct on for THIS device?

If the charger moves at the connector end then you will be able to look closely and see if the pivot point is in the joint between the black plastic and the metal "insert"... It's the charger
Or if the pivot rotation point is inside the phone...
Then it's the phone
The metal insert on my charger is super solid.. No wiggle where it meets the black plastic at all

So I read a few places that say not to use any wall charger with the HTC One except for the charger that comes with it. It also says not to use any other cable? What do you guys thing? The cable shouldn't hurt the phone as long as it's decent quality right? Thanks.
And, dang, this phone can get hot!
I can't speak for anyone else...but I occasionally use my girl's Note 2 charger because it's longer (giggity) and so far I haven't noticed any damages. I'm assuming if it's a longer cord, it takes longer to transfer power from the outlet to the phone and that shouldn't hurt the phone. Then again...I could be wrong.
Yes this phone is Hot and it gets pretty hot. Heat + metal = not a good combo especially when in your hands or pocket.

I have more than a few questions, hopefully some of you can shine some light:
DOCKING STATION
Is there gonna be a docking station like this one , but that is USB3.0 instead of just regular micro USB?
WIRELESS CHARGING
I understand the convenience of wireless charging. Is it slower than USB 3.0 charging?
Does using a USB 2.0 micro USB cable to charge the Note 3 affect in any way? is it slower?
Is it posible to implement wireless charging using the Spigen Neo Hybrid case? I heard the QI add on makes the original back cover not fit properly. Is that true?
NFC
Since the NFC chip is built onto the battery, do extended batteries like the upcoming 10,000mah by zerolemon have the NFC chip as well?Or will I be losing NFC functionality by having a third party battery?
Will Spigen Neo Hybrid case affect NFC?
CAR DOCK/KICKSTAND
I have had HTC EVO line phones since the first one until HTC EVO 4g LTE. This is my first Samsung. Is there an equivalent to the HTC car dock app for samsung (once again, USB 3.0 enabled)?
Is there gonna be an official car dock holder for Samsung, like HTC usually makes?
I want a built in kickstand, but I didnt want to limit my case options based on just that. I was intending to buy something like this, but they are never in stock. Must be wallet size. Anyone know of something similar?
Thank you very much for your time.
Don't really mean to bump, but I think answers to these questions would be a good source of information for everyone
There's an official USB 3.0 dock released but not the multimedia version u linked.
I have modified my Note3 to charge with the S3 wireless card and charging times don't seem to differ that much but I charge my device overnight as this beast never runs out of battery. Also the mod I done doesn't bulk ure cover out.
It doesn't charge wireless for me with my Spigen Slim Armour
If you use a third party battery that has NO NFC then you loose it
In terms of docks as the phone is only just out I'm sure there will be loads of USB 3.0 docks released soon enough for in car use

Where? I can't find it on Samsung's website.
I see unofficial ones on eBay that have microUSB 3.0 connectors the plug into the phone but only microUSB 2.0 on the back of the dock, so it's not only unofficial but also not USB 3.0.

Regarding wireless charging...you are the first person to claim that they can keep on using the Note 3 without increase in bulk, and therefore still fit regular cases, albeit wireless charging will only function with the case off. How exactly did you accomplish this?
Regarding NFC, my question was really whether the third party batteries are going to have NFC or not. I did assume not having a battery with NFC would disable NFC.
Thanks for pointing out that USB 3.0 dock! I am still hoping they will release a multimedia one, as my understanding so far is that the current smart media dock does not allow for simultaneous MHL and USB usage.
And what about USB 2.0 vs 3.0 charging? what is your take on that?

I stripped the wireless card of the advertising leaving just the coil and one thin piece of sticky paper so no padding etc therefore its ultra thin.
I personally would only use official battery's so wouldn't know but I assume there will be NFC enabled third party ones.
As for USB 3.0 it certainly charges faster especially when plugged in to my PC

Yes the mAh battery from ZL will have NFC.
NFC still work?
Hi! Have you tried NFC with the coil? I know the coil works fine, keeps the slim profile vs. the OEM back charging cover, etc, but wondering if it blocks the NFC since it covers the battery. The add-on coil seems like the obvious and cheaper choice but I want the NFC to work still as I do use NFC tags. Thank you for the info and any help you can offer!
There is so much information contradicting this that is hard to follow.
To me the stand is not important but I do want the cable. If speeds is bad on the other or any other risks like being able to connect inverse etc, then I rather pay for the DK30 and get it over with.
Also, I have seen some cheap adapters only to which you can connect any usb cable. That would be awesome but the fact I dont see them mention much implies they are not good...or not?

I have used both the EC21 and the knockoff magnetic cable and I do not see a difference in the ones that I have as far as charging is concerned. They both charge at the same rate regardless of which block I use which im starting to think is dependent on how much the phone wants to take in and not so much which block I use. I have tried a galaxy S3 charging block, stock XZU block, and the first gen ipad block and they all show the same charging speeds despite the difference in amperage. Can anyone else verify this for me? I know the ipad block should charge the phone faster since its a 2.1A block, but I am not seeing the speed. I have seen others get charging times around 2 hours and under but mine is no where near those times as it takes upwards of 3 hours to get from 35% to full.

Since these Chinese knock-offs don't have official names, thus making their identification difficult, we would never know for sure which types people are talking about.
But I have one at home, one at office (EC-21 and copy) and they do charge at different rates.
Even thought the copy version is more user friendly due to stronger magnets, I can tell you that EC-21 charges to the phone to full from any % in under 4 hours. Same cannot be said for the copy, which does have a thinner cable.
I have woken up from a 6 hour sleep a few times to find my phone not fully charged. (yes, all apps were closed and nothing should have been sucking the power)
I have seen 2 variants of EC-21
Ones that come with the DK-30 dock, which cannot charge from USB ports on PC, and the EC-21 sold as EC-21, without the dock. This type has a chunkier USB connector which allows you to connect to PC and charge.
The one I have is the cable-only EC-21

as far as the EC21 cable, I took mine out of the DK30 dock since my phone now fits in between both adapters.
I've never woken up to a not fully charged phone when using the knockoff one. I did notice it took longer to fully charge when I use knockoff at work with generic 1.0A block at work, but that's because I have music streaming as well as instant messages flooding in, so that isn't surprising.
after you mentioned that your knockoff cable had a thinner cable, I checked mine and saw that it was a hair thinner but almost the same thickness. I have attached pictures. is that what you're talking about in terms of "thinner"?
has anyone else purchased the cable that I bought off eBay and can give any other feedback on it?

It is hard to judge whether the thickness of the cable is the same for my knockoff, but I can say that my knock off is not the one you have posted the link for. The differences I can see though, are that the USB connector on mine is smaller, whereas the one you posted has the beefier/chunkier USB connector, suggesting that this cable allows it to charge via USB ports on PCs (the one on ebay you posted has the USB connector part looking similar in size to my EC-21, the version which is not the one included in the DK-30 set). Also the magnetic connector is a bit bigger on my knockoff (probably explaining the better sticking power to my Z Ultra compared to EC-21)
I forgot to mention in previous post that the only factor influencing the charge rate is the cable itself, because I have 2 x original Sony chargers (same model)

Indeed. I got one and barely used it.
Just got my xzu. Been reading and searching for a genuine magnetic charging cable. From what I have read there is no official magnetic charger cable made by Sony. So is something like: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Son...l_Phone_PDA_Chargers&var=&hash=item461de4c1f1 fake?
