hi i am trying to do a port from a rom that has a different screen resolution to the phone i want to port to i have the rom booting fine but at the wrong resolution can anyone tell me how to change this, thanks in advance
The dpi value in build.prop
How much of a resolution are you trying to change?Like for instance is it hard to port a ROM from a phone that has a 4x7" screen to a 4x3" screen. Thanks in advance!!!

thanks for the reply there is no dpi option in the build.prop even on the working version of the rom which is very confusing even if i take the build.prop from the working rom and copy it to the one i want to change the resolution off it does not help
I believe this line is the line you are looking for in the build.prop
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density=[some number here]
mine for the HTC Rezound on my rom is 320
Can I change the resolution and port a ROM from a HTC one x to a HTC sensation?Is it possible to do that?and is it a hard process to do. Thanks

hey guys i m new to android development but according to my research i found this in my build.prop :
ro.sf.7x27A.lcd_density=240
ro.sf.8x25.lcd_density=240
So you gotta edit those lines in your build.prop or you can look in your base rom's build.prop And my devices are samsung galaxy grand and celkon ct 888
Screen Resolution depends on Hardware...Its not Resolution you guys are trying to change,its the Screen Density per Inch.......And porting 720p ROms will work on Devices having lower Resolution but it wont give 720p Resolution :victory:
any one help
I got 2 phones with different screen size and resolution
my base rom is 4.5 inches 540 X 960
my port rom is 5 inches and 480 x 854 what changes do i need to do

I heard Fl.ash is trying to port the HTC interface to ace. I thought the Sense UI can be enjoyed to the full extent with the whole package being ported to Ace. I heard that wildfire also has the same resolution as ace, so no need to port the graphics.
Any reply, positive or negative from the dev., I shall respect.
Thanks!

first of all, wildfire doesnt have same resolution as ace. its ldpi (240 x 320) while ace is mdpi (320 x 480). u shouldnt always believe what u "heard".
I guess he was talking about the Wildfire S, which has pretty much the same specs as the Ace and a mdpi screen.

I am extemly sorry sir, I forgot to write HTC wilfire S, in fact I downloaded their official rom to see if can do something, but I don't know anything about porting. I read somewhere that I had to replace a few lib files and it will be done. please help.
Yes the newer Wildfire S has hvga(320x480) resolution...but the sense UI is closed source and copyrighted with closed source framework heavily integrated into stock HTC . Because of this non of the attempts to port the sense UI or the system over the xda and underground have been fully successfull(not fully working) .
And the official ROM you have downloaded should occupy some system space like 250 MB while our total system space is 214 MB.

Yes sir, I know. I also know that it has been ported to many non-HTC devices like galaxy S (our distant cousin ) and HTC hasn't bothered to file a patent infringement case. Surely not all companies are as dumb-headed like Apple.

Thank you for being supportive and yes Sense has been ported to galaxy S : http://www.androidtotal.com/htc-sen...xy-s-i9000-running-android-2.3.3-gingerbread/ , but with some limitations. (Just like our CM ).
yup many non htc device got sense so why not ace if possible
and here devs not sell rom it is unofficiall port so htc not claim void of copy right as my point of view
I know this is a noob question, but does anyone know how to extract files from a .img in the stock rom file on windows 7?
I would love to know if someone is going to do this. I wasn't aware fla.sh was attempting to port it though...
fla.sh isn't porting Sense to Ace. Only framework theme

It's just their sensor. The sensor on the XPS also seems to be capable of burst captures and stuff, but I didn't test it yet.

It's not a screenshot, it's a snapshot in the same resolution as the video is, up to 1080p. I don't think the One X does that differently.

480 x 854 pixels, 3.7 inches (~265 ppi pixel density)
Yup I do have same question
My xu pixel density is supposed to b 280 ppi bt build.prop shows 240?? Why??

I use Estaskmanger, it shows you information about your device and it shows that the pixel density is only 240 ppi, soI want to check if other users have the same thing with sola
Just installed es task manager, and you're right. 240 ppi
maybe Xperia Sola render things in sub-Native resolution then upscales it?
thus resulting in lower DPI than what should be.

Is there any other information tool to test with because I tried it with other phones and it shows lower ppi than it should be
My friend has a galaxy pocket and it should be 143 ppi but on es task manager it showed only 120 ppi
So i thought there might be something wrong with the app
Is it possible to virtually change the screen PPI , advantage & disadvantage + How to do so ?
How to improve the connect , speed , etc.

This improved my connection a bit & am using TCP congestion method as reno
Any suggestions , Thanks in advance
