Split screen multitasking? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Can anyone who got the phone today confirm that it has the split screen functionality (while the other carriers don't)?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

I believe Sprint already received an update, so VZW isn't the only US carrier to have split-screen functionality.
Verizon's site lists the split-screen multitasking as a feature of this phone, so I imagine the phones people are receiving have this feature built-in already. I'm sure someone who has one will comment after me saying it does.

Yes the Verizon note has the split screen functionality out of the box.

Nfc confirmed in note?

still trying to get a answer
I thought it did but I just saw a spec sheet and did not see it listed so I am not sure now.
Yes, the antenna for it is in the battery door like how the blackberry9900 is. There are 2 metal contacts on the inside of the battery door.

Yes, it is in the AT&T version. It is not listed as a spec though.
All the new AT&T phones (the high end versions anyway) all come with NFC but none of them have working software stack. Basically they are disabled until AT&T sponsored ISIS takes off. So, consider the NFC as non-functional until AT&T has a change of heart.

Or until we have a canadian or korean rom that has it enabled. Both my ATT skyrockets have nfc enabled through a rogers rom
And it actually works? Which rom? I have seen it but have not been able to get it to work.

I'm using skyROCKeteer and it works. Problem is gingerbread doesn't have nfc push capabilities so I can only receive stuff from a gnex or icsd nexus s

Anyone else find it pretty coincidental that as the Galaxy Note comes out that Google Wallet opens up to AT&T Nexus phones on the Android Market. I wouldn't give your hopes up, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
With all the security problems (two ways for other ppl to reset the GWallet pin on your phone, one requires root, one doesn't) recently discovered in GWallet, I will steer clear of that app.

[Q] Any Real Differences W/ Verizon Note 2?

What are the real differences w/ Verizon Note 2 vs to other Note 2 versions? And I am not talking about stickers. What is the differences in hardware, software and overall experience? And are they giving multitasking out the door? Etc...

Anything right now about this is just pure speculation.
Right now it is thought they are pretty much identical to Sprint / AT&T models, except for maybe multi-window feature. It seems like there are updates that have been rolled out/will soon be available by carrier and a modified ROM that is supposedly going to be released on XDA that has the feature.
only known difference is home button branding on verizon only.
tmobile and att have wireless charging contacts exposed on back panel
sprint does not

I thought the leads on the Sprint version were covered up by something.
There are some different pre-installed apps on the various carrier branded versions. Hardware is the same as far as I know, minus possibly the battery. I think carriers may also offer slightly different color variations as well, similar to the SGS3. For the most part though, Samsung has stopped making 400 different configurations of one phone and are making one phone and just changing the software around for the various carriers instead.
I'm curious if the Verizon version will be quad-core.

There's no need to be curious. It is quad-core.
Hardware will only be different in color/branding, and any changes to the radio chips/firmware so they work with VZWs network. Other than that, all devices should be the same from a hardware standpoint. Software is where most of the differences will be, but most of the stuff should be the same as well, with only a handful of carrier specific apps being different.

Where?
If it is a rep I wouldn't read too much Ito what they say. Without NFC that means no sbeam which seems unlikely

Are you referring to the website comparison? If so, Verizon already said that was a mistake. I second the sbeam logic.

Samsung Music Hub is part of the features of Samsung Galaxy Note II (Verizon) Check out Samsung support site for Verizon version. The site doesn't mention NFC, but Samsung's support page for T-Mobile's Note 2 doesn't show NFC either even when that device has NFC. The NFC is part of Samsung Music Hub so you can "beam" music. So I take that Samsung Galaxy Note II (Verizon) as having NFC. And yes, the support site does confirm the S Beam.

While it won't stop me from purchasing the phone, I have used NFC on my GNex like crazy. I love Gwallet and being to bump stuff over to my Nexus 7 and back. So for me, it matters a little bit
NFC is there on Verizon version. And there is a hack that gets Google Wallet installed into Galaxy Note 2 and running.
The main question is "When can our community find a way for us to get around the bootloader locked?", so we can root these babies.

I'm with you on that. There are alot of great devs out there! I'm sure root will be obtained very soon after release. The bootloader, however, will be a different beast...

Considering buying this phone.

I'm considering buying this phone used and off contract so I have a few questions.
1) Do the ROMs for this phone have multi-window and other premium suite features?
2) Can I get this device to work with T-Mobile? I won't be using data and will only use T-Mobile for calling and texting. Because I am on campus the majority of the time, there is little need to have a data plan.
No and yes

The note has several premium suite features that revolve around the s-pen and the multi-touch screen.
If you want multi-window and the other features too, buy a used international note N7000.

My ciq plea to LG

Winning. I was able to get an Advanced Tech support rep to admit they were wrong. She walked me through rooting my phone and voiding my warranty to freeze Carrier IQ. She then added insurance to my account free of charge and gave me a credit for $150 on my account to cover the insurance deductible if needed in the future. Attached is proof.
This has turned into a full on assault toward AT&T. Here is the link to file a complaint to the FCC. I have submitted my contract, the details page about the lg g2 from AT&T's website neither which states that carrier IQ or any other software is installed to monitor location or network data. Also attach was a chat log with an AT&T rep who admitted openly that it was not in my contract or listed anywhere that carrier IQ would be installed on our devices.I have also Filed a small claims complaint in with my local court which has a 500$ maximum claim amount. I am seeking the max with the reasoning that the only way to not be affected is to buy another phone.I expect AT&T to be a no show. Please unite and file an fcc complaint for concealing software capable of providing your location without consent.

LG. I must say since I picked up the g2 life has been great. I have but one issue with my phone and I am on my knees begging you for help. My troubles all began when I powered on my at&t branded device. I struggled with a very annoying wake lock that would randomly deplete my battery. I have traced the culprit which I have found to be carrier iq also known as ciq. I understand this spyware was installed at the request of my carrier so they can track usage data and trouble shoot network issues. I just feel lg should allow customers to have the ability to opt out or disable this software. Did you know that if I have network location set to off carrier iq will turn on my GPS to obtain my location. Now imagine this, you work in a secure facility with metal doors and no windows in the basement of a government entity. Your GPS turns on constantly without your control eating away at your battery trying to obtain a location. So I ask you only for this lg. Please work with the American carriers to give your customers the freedom to choose. Isn't it bad enough we have Obama and the NSA spying on us. Sincerly Christopher

If you are talking about US models, the T-mobile variant allows you to disable carrierIQ in the settings.

I doubt it will do any good but I wanted to share my plea to lg in hopes for an option to disable carrier iq on the US models like AT&T. I know carrier iq Is installed at the request of the carriers but I believe LG will support us if we unite. The voice of one will not be heard. I will be reaching out to lg customers on other devices and carriers far beyond xda. I will keep this post updated with links for Facebook,YouTube and other social networking sites. Please support me as I fight for your freedom to choose weather or not to enable carrier IQ.
I am in the process of creating a Facebook page with the intention of raising awareness for all of the users who have no idea what carrier iq Is.

This isn't done at the LG level. This is done at the Carrier level.
The Verizon version doesn't even have CIQ.
This would be a plea to the carriers like ATT... and good luck w/ that.

LG installed ciq at the request of att. Lg is the one who can pressure att to give us the option to disable it like t mobile.
Sent from my LG-D800 using XDA Premium HD app
Exactly. They installed it at ATT's behest. They don't install it by default. They installed it because it's part of ATT's custom package they load on top of the LG base.
Like all carriers they install their own custom bloat on top of the base, and that was part of ATT's. They're not going to pressure ATT to remove it because it's ATT's call. T-Mo chose to install it, but give a disable option. It's all controlled by the carriers installation package.
If anything it's ATT who needs to be pressured so the 4.4 build doesn't have it bloated in.

Sorry for the late reply
Per T-mobile:
Settings > Backup & Reset > Collect diagnostics.... then uncheck "allow diagnostics"
BetterBatteryStats recorded carrierIQ as a wakelock, but after doing the above method, that wakelock was no more.
One gripe I have w this phone is the CIQ. They should at least let us have the option to disable it.

Issues using Isis with the One Max at stores

Has anyone else experiencing issues with the One Max's NFC being detected at stores?
I'm currently using the Power Flip case, and not sure if that is affecting it, or if I'm tapping wrong part of the phone's back plate.
So far, I have only been successful at one store out of three attempts (at other places).

It's a third-party thing, and being pushed pretty hard by Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. Thanks to this, I can't use Google Wallet as an option NFC mobile payments.
i remember when I had a note 2, with ATT, a few folks had ISIS on their phones, and we also not able to use google wallet; ISIS adds some files to your phone, that keeps Google Wallet from working..
I think there's more to it than that. Both my current and previous (Droid DNA) phones did not come with Isis installed. It's likely not supported in the Google Wallet app (device not certified). Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile probably made a big enough fuss.
I remember when Wallet first came out, and Sprint was the only carrier to support it. Seems like nothing had changed.
