Hello everyone! I've been flashing ROMs with much battery drain and I feel I need to switch modems. I fixed the RIL but it wasn't enough. I'm in Egypt, and I think I need a JP modem according to this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1131950
I looked in vekya and all forums and I can't find it, and I have no access these days to a computer to extract it from a .tar. Could someone help? I'm on Jellybam 4.1.2
Thanks!

Hi All,
I have upgraded to Checkrom 3.1.1 a few days back. I find that the signal is pretty weak ever since.
Can you please tell me which modem version should I use in Bangalore for Airtel? My guess is, it should be the same through out India irrespective of the provider. I have tried all of those available through kitchen and i dont find any improvement. I got KF3 as stock. But I dont find that available for CWM.
Thank you.
Bump........ anybody?
Try putting in the India KF3 CSC?
India ODDKF3 CSC: http://www.multiupload.com/8PSY68J8O3
Also, you'll get more help if you post your question in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1108787&page=407
Am on XXKI4 and it works pretty well for me here in Hyderabad on Idea. Flash it and check.
KI4 works well in Bangalore. You can find CWM flashable modems in the Android Development Thread
I would appreciate it if someone could shed some light on splitting a single package ROM into 3 parts and vice versa. The reason I want to do this is because I want to keep the Modem and CSC of the UK ROM but want the software of a 2.3.6 ROM which does not have the XEU CSC. I have done 2 days of searching and researching without any luck.
I have also looked for the alternative of the latest 2.3.6 Gingerbread Firmware in 3 parts to flash in Odin with no luck whatsoever. Therefore, being able to split a file will help me hours of wasted searching with no results. This information does not seem to be available anywhere and I am pretty sure it would help others. I have also tried ROM Packager but I do not think that it is compatible with the s5830 or the Firmwares available at SamMobile. Thanks in advanced.
Flash the XEU csc after flashing your desired firmware?
In order to do this I still need to split my existing ROM to get the CSC and modem files out right?
Can anyone tell me where I can find a list of different CSC or Modem to download. I did see a CSC thread somewhere here on this forum but can't seem to find it through the search. Please if anyone knows, can you please post me the link to that thread. Thanks
I previously upgraded my phone's firmware to 2.3.6, seeing that Bell Canada's stock firmware for the SGS2 is 2.3.3, and has never received an update since release. 2.3.6 is much better in many ways, however the problem I encountered was random network (3g/4g) disconnection, while always being able to make and receive calls and texts. Curious to know if there is a work around to this problem? If I were to take an educated guess, could the modem file of the rom be the cause of this problem? Seeing that my SGS2 is a i9100M model, and the firmware "changes" the phone's model to i9100. Furthermore causing the network to not recognize the phone's modem?
I really would like to be able to avoid this issue because I downgraded back to stock branded courrier firmware. 2.3.3 is hard on battery usage and touch response is much worse than 2.3.6.

You didn't have to downgrade. You just needed to find modems that are more compatible with your network. Modem thread here. (easily found with a google search for "xda modems galaxy s2"... it was the fourth or fifth result)

Yeah, I already looked at that thread, including the thread dedicated to Bell/virgin courier. So I guess you missed the point of my question. I did ask what I could do to work around the problem, afterwards taking an educated guess that the modem was the issue. Maybe this forum deals with a lot of people that don't use search, but lets not put everybody on the same boat. Thanx

No offense intended, but the wording of your question didn't lead me to believe you looked at that thread, and that you were just speculating at this point that it was an issue with your modem. Sorry.
But in answer to what you could do to work around the problem, if the modem currently flashed to your phone is not ideal to your network operator, there really is no work around other than to flash a modem that is better suited.
No worries, no offense taken, was just justifying myself. So, if I understand correctly, it is the possible to flash the rom without flashing the modem? I'm just thinking logically here, but I have flashed back to stock rom, hence my network issue was resolved. I downloaded the latest 2.3.6 firmware available, so instead of flashing the modem I can leave it blank?

Hm... I honestly don't know. Where'd you download the "latest 2.3.6 firmware available"? From Intratech's official firmware thread?
If so, those packages contain everything in the zip, including the modem. I think what you can do is open up the package, and remove "modem.bin", and zip it back up. That may leave the modem you currently have... But I don't know for sure, I've never tried it.
Hi all, i recently flashed a custom rom to my " vodaphone australia samsung galaxy S2 I9100T" but the rom kept freezing, so i flashed a stock samsung rom ( one without all the vodaphone rubbish) but now i am getting very slow 3G speeds, and the signal qulity keeps jumpingup and down.
I have spent 2 days looking for a working download link for a different modem, but they all seem to be down.
Can someone please tell me where i can find a working download link??
I am currently using the phone on the optus network. So i would need a modem that would work on it.
And i have a nadroid backup of the original vodaphone rom, so is the anyway i can copy the modem out of it and then reflash it using odin or cwm???
Thanks in advance for any help you can give
Cheers corey
Hey man, you need to check out the Aussie thread in General section. It has all you need.
Anyway, check this post from there (MistahBungle) and flash with cwm recovery:

All those i9100T links go to multiupload still?
Hi all. My first post! Apologies in advance for asking something that seems it should be here, but seems is not. After tireless searching, it seems there is no stock roms for GT-S5360T for Australia (Telstra CSC(? I think?). Please please if anyone knows of the location of any please link for me???
Ok so I've read through a lot of the forums here and I've figured that I had the Austrian stock Rom originally (55360TAJKK3). I have flashed the firmware to it and it's back to it's original state except one thing. There's no network. Telstra is listed under the APNs but I'm assuming it's Austrian telstra and it's because I don't have the right CSC file? Is this right? Is there a CSC file anywhere for ZSA for this? I've looked throug Doky's thread but can only find this rom. Can I flash just a CSC file to my phone without the modem and pda if I do happen to find it?
This worked for me.
