I have had several people complain about how I sound during phone calls. I remember the reviews on phone the stating how great call quality is on both ends so I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing any call quality issues

Had to return my phone for a new set as it was defective due to very poor out going voice quality.
Another member here (that I read about) had the same issue.

I was about to make a post about the same thing. I have experienced this issue on both mr1 and mr3.
This also occurs when someone calls me. I can't hear them and they can't hear me. It rings and ill answer it, and it'll show connected, but no one on the other end.

I have never had this problem, but I wonder if this fixes it for everyone. Although it is checked on my phone.
I can attest that voice privacy turned off does not fix the silent calls

Well mine is turned off and i haven't had an issue yet.
Sent from my photon 4g using XDA Premium App
Mine is turned off and I've had the issue 3 times.
So when I shake my phone, tap the top of it with my finger or when it vibrates in some angle, I can actually hear that something is loose (maybe the speaker). When I shake or tap the phone I can hear some sort of ticking noise and when it vibrates I can hear something vibrate with it.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Most likely the camera lens. It's common the focusing lens rattles a little. Have done so on most of my phones with cameras.

I haven't received the SIII yet, but smartphone cameras will rattle. If it wasn't able to move it wouldn't be able to focus.

From experience, I'd advise to return goods as soon as a fault(s) develop. The retailer is more likely to accept the goods back, and you often have more consumer rights and an easier chance of enforcing those rights the less time has lapsed between sale and returning.
only lucky person have this. you are lucky because you can meet samsung service center. return your phone.
Mine does the same when I shake it back and forward, if I shake left to right it doesn't happen, as already been said I think is the camera lenses to be able to focus.
So I don't think you need to return your phone.

Ask Samsung ...
To those who think their S3's should rattle. Please ask Samsung if the S3 should rattle. You can do this on such things as their Facebook support pages. Update the thread with Samsung's response(s) pls.
I know the S3 can be a phone, internet browser, camera, etc, but rattle is not one of the features they have announced afaik
My S3 isn't rattling, but my power button dosen't have the click/tick sound anymore when i click on it, like the volume rocker has
Eh it should be the camera auto focus. My iphone 4s, htc one x and galaxy s3 did it when I had it. My only phone that doesn't is my bold 9900 because it doesn't have auto focus.

Doesn't explain why some S3's have it and others don't.
For perspective, mine rattles when I tap the top third of the screen in normal usage, clicking links, wifi toggles etc.
Definitely the camera, definitely annoying. Deciding if it's worth the risk to have it replaced..

In a randomly semi-related note, does anyone else have problems with the headphone jack? I bought my note 2 off of ebay and any headset i put in only works if twisted a certain way. I am not sure if it is just my device or a more common occurrence. If not, I'll seek a replacement.
I really wish I would've gotten white. With a black/dark grey case, the white looks PIMP

never had this problem with mine or my wife's. Of course you could always go BT and not worry about it.
Had the same problem awhile back I think it had dirt in it because I blew in it and it worked fine afterwards. Don't know if that will help but its worth a shot.

Hi all I am getting this error when sending sms messages. It happens at random times. I have contacted Verizon one time and the rep said they haven't seen this before and have no idea what the issue is. I contacted htc and they also said they don't know and want me to pay to send my phone in. I refuse to send it in because I'm fairly sure this is a bug in the sense 5 update. Here are some screen shots of the error.
Is anyone else getting this error, or has anyone else found a fix for it?
Thanks in advanced.

Its vey annoying restarting your phone 80000 times a day.
Yeah it is. I'm chatting with Verizon now and see what they have to say about it. At this point I'm ready to Chuck this phone at them. It's an amazing phone when it works. Did you only get this error when you were on sense 5?

Got off support with Verizon and he basically said it looks like a software bug and I can send you a replacement device. That makes 0 sense because if it's a software issue it's still going to be present on a replacement device. They basically said I don't know what I can do for you so that's some pretty ****ty customer support but what else is new from Verizon. They could give a **** about their customers.

Well I didn't start getting the error tell I RUU my device back to 2.07 and updated to 3.06. I use stock.
Sucks for me I don't have insurance on my device.
Yeah I don't have any as well but I'm in my warranty for another 9 days. However I don't think it's hardware it's looking like a bug in the sense 5 update. They both offered to repair my device and I won't go that route because I know nothing is wrong with it. So for now I guess I will have to use a 3rd party messaging app and wait to see if I get any errors.

Most people are probably on custom roms so they aren't experiencing it. Or maybe it doesn't bother people enough to report it. It was just happening to me so much I got fed up and contacted support but they proved useless so I guess I'm just going to have to use a 3rd party messaging app until they fix it if they ever do.

I have tried several sense 6 ROMS out there and they are really good overall. The problem is the sound output in Google Hangouts video chats does not work properly. It's severely distorted and almost sounds over-driven.
Does anyone know what is causing this, because the sound is excellent otherwise on these roms? Anyone working on a fix for this? Thanks!

It's kernel related. Once someone digs through the new source code I'm sure it will be fixed. I mention it in the rom thread so the developer is aware of the problem and can attempt a fix.

Most of our sense 6 roms are based of the m8. So because it's not ment for the DNA and we don't have one for the DNA the sound will probably be like that. It always has been on custom roms.
