Dear Friends
I HAVE MESS-UP WITH MY i9300!!!!
The incident is I was using custom rom, and installed some stupid app called "Adblock" or something,
and then, my phone just keep went-off for about 8-10 times a day. So then, I decided to reflash
custom rom by CWM, and after I pressed install in Aroma Installer, it just kick me out all of sudden, and
then, I couldn't get back to CWM anymore, so I decided to flash some stock rom by odin, but what
had happen was it starts until "Nand write start" and stacked for a while, and then just FAIL me.
On the net, I found that Checkrom Resurrection V4 could rescue softbrick i9300, I tried, but
no luck either. Finally, just now, I tried a 3 files stock rom with pit, and it came out as:

I did the same, and tried to fix in the same way ~4 weeks ago. Its back in the post from samsung and should arrive today having been repaired.... Sorry!
They have had to replace parts (took them two attempts with different bits apparently), but dont give any more details than that.

Incorrect PIT may brick your phone .
This needs a service centre repair .

Flash via "Firmware Upgrade And Initialization" in the "Tools" of Samsung KIES 2.5 instead of ODIN. The firmware must fit your phone because it get firmwares according to your serial number. However, if you find firmwares outside, there may be a little difference due to different batches.
But my phone just couldn't boot up, it held on the screen of "samsung" logo, so I couldn't connect to kies at all

You don't have to boot up your phone in order to use the "Firmware Upgrade and Initialization" in the Samsung KIES.
Thanks for your advice mate, I tried, but still no luck, what happen was my PC can pickup the connection of my phone, but once Kies sending data into the phone, it just became fails and has to be disconnect. I tried to reconnect and ran through it again.. no good. Now, I am planning to give a soft electric shocks, and make it go into dead sleep, so that I can take it to service center. Before that, any other think I can try?
Thanks mate.

That means you failed to use the download mode which supports the "Firmware Upgrade and Initialization" right?
But electric shocks is not a good way as they may discover you.
Yes, I think so, I can connect the phone to Kies, after Lies finished download firmware and ready to flash, it kicked me out and asked me to disconnect the phone.
Except using electric shocks, I can't think of any other ways as I think I have tried everything. Any other method I can try?

Hi, I have been trying to flash my phone with cf-root from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
I have been following the instructions to the letter, downloaded Odin, downloaded the Kernel for my phone, downloaded latest drivers for my phone and ensured all Kies processes are shut down. However every time I try and flash my phone from Odin, it comes up with the following message -

You are flashing the correct firmware for T model ???

In all honesty I am not sure if there is some specific firmware for the T model, I have been using KF4 during all these attempts. Is there a specific firmware for the T model?
Any more suggestions on what I could do to sort it out?

"T" model firmware is identical save for the modem. If you have a T model you can use any rom as long as you reflash correct modem.
I'd guess OP isn't in download mode lol

No, I am putting my phone into download mode (vol down+home+power), doing everything the instructions for this cf-root say, and this keeps happening...
I just checked again, and even when not plugged into the computer, in download mode it has some small writing at the top left of phone saying "Odin Mode", should this be there when not plugged in?

A guess is that you are not following the instructions regarding the cwm root rom file .
Flash CF-Root-xxx-vX.X.tar (from the attached zip)
Of course it could be that you have extracted the tar file from the zip and its faulty .
jje
well, I have just downloaded it again, unzipped the .tar and tried again, same result..
On phone make sure Settings / Development is checked to USB debugging on.
I'm in the same boat.
I'm trying to root the phone so that I can install the original SIP service to enable VoIP calls as per this thread here so I have been reading up for most of the day (yeah I know stressing out and being over pedantic) Have been reading Chainfire's thread as well as "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126522A complete noobs guide to root using the [CF-Root v4.0] KE2/7/8, KF1 su+bb+CWM4"

Looks like you have stock recovery.
Flash stock firmware with Odin from here:
[Guide+ROMS]Odin Flash+Root Guide & Stock Firmwares LE4/6/8/9/F/D, LF1/2
Re-root; I suggest you flash Chainfire's [RECOVERY][11.06.2012] ClockWorkMod Recovery 5.5.0.4 - "v1.4"
Having a nandroid backup made via CWM Recovery would gotten you out of your mess within minutes

Sorry, bit tired here, not much sleep last night, and the light bulb is only dim . Maybe I missed something easy Or you're missing a step somewhere.
You could try:
1. Flash Chainfire [RECOVERY][11.06.2012] ClockWorkMod Recovery 5.5.0.4 - "v1.4". This will give you root and CWM recovery.
2. Download a custom ROM xx.zip (don't extract, it's flashable zip for CWM recovery I would recommend Wanamlite
3. Copy to external sdcard
4. Boot into CWM and Install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > flash.............
5. Allow at least 5+ mins for first boot
[ROM][XXALF2][15 Jun][V1.2] WanamLite Smooth, Stable & Battery Friendly
Or.
[ROM][CWM][ZSALED/XXALF2][ICS][4.0.4] Odexed & Fully Deodexed Stock Roms

Not installed Kies on system.......... plz guide
possibly kies at fault, or drivers from other mobile phones, make sure ya uninstall kies and anything thats not related to your phone that you dont need.
2nd cause could be quite often people dont have their cable plugged directly into a usb2 port, being plugged into a usb hub or the extra usb ports, cards etc can cause issues with odin, please check and ensure you are in a usb2 port on the back of the pc, if one isnt spare make one spare, for example, a usb mouse really doesnt need to be in a usb2 port, that could be moved.
Good luck and i hope you manage to nail down the issue, once its solved odin will work fine.

try rebooting it first, then unplug your USB cable and plug it to a different port.
If it is still not working, try downloading a different official firmware....

You obviously didn't do that exact Google search if you 'don't find any useful thing'. It's still top of the results when you do that exact search.
Re: Hopper8's thread, no, I don't have a link, and I'm absolutely not searching for the thread for you when you're more than capable of doing so yourself (Search through his posts only, you should find it easily), tho I have my doubts about that given you obviously didn't bother doing a two word Google search (In other words, you can do either/both of those things & maybe fix your phone or it can stay busted, doesn't bother me in the slightest either way).

if it is still not working, try looking at your charging pin (Phone usb charging pin) if it is dirty get a dry tooth brush, remove your battery and get an acetone, put atleast two drops and brush it to the charging pin.... it could be the pin doesnt get contact well on your USB cable ( no matter how many times you change your USB cable if your charging pin has problems due to dirts, still it will do same thing.) leave it to dry well before putting back the battery.
download a different firmware, and do not download samsung kies. just get the device driver for samsung mobile phones ok....
Put back your battery and then do the combination for the download mode and flash it to ODIN....
tell me if it still doesnt work....
i experienced many failed attempts on SAMSUNG galaxy, Galaxy S2, Nexus G, Xperia acro s, Xperia sola.... so it's quite impossible that it was your phone has the issue.... BTW what happened to your very first trial of flashing that phone of yours, why did you flash a different firmware....
try everything, just keep trying it will eventually work.... if not, only one way to make it work. JTAG to one of the cellphone shops if there's any in your country....
oh yeah one more thing, try a different computer/ laptop to flash it with.... just copy every thing to a flash drive because it could be your computer too....

now, odin not stuck in mlo, and do work completely and say pass. but after reseting, my s2 stuck in boot with yellow triangle. what i must do?
hey
i just wanted to ask if anybody has a work around on my little issue
it started when i flashed the wrong pit in ODIN it hung up on the partion part (hints the wrong PIT file)
so i unplugged the device after the first five min of it hanging up and i did a battery pull now every time i touch a button on the phone it gives me the PHONE../!\..COMPUTER and i cant get it in download mode nor fastboot or just any boot for that matter ik it could be worse (BLACK SCREEN OF DOOM) but i cant use ODIN or even the KIES to flash the appropriate PIT or reset the device so if anybody's gotta walk around solution please help... any help would be exelent at this point
Try Heimdall one-click, search the thread. You should be good, don't worry.
Your phone is T959v? Be careful to flash the right files, whatever phone you are on.
That's the soft brick screen just plug into Odin and flag the right file

You should be able to get into download mode, although it can be a bit tricky when your soft bricked.
A Jig will do the trick though (Home made or tailor made) if your looking for an easy way to get into DL Mode that is
Cheers,
Chris
Odin will see the phone at that screen no need to worry about download mode

FWIW here (from N00B_IN_N33D's MIUI guide stickied in Q&A):
"SOFT" BRICKED WHILE USING ODIN?

If you are getting a "Phone.. ! ..Computer" image (seen above) when booting phone, yes, you are bricked but it is reversible! Just follow these steps...
Make sure you have ODIN OPEN with admin privileges!
1.) Take off your back cover, remove your sim & mirco sd card.
2.) Remove your battery.
Make sure you have the USB plugged into your PC but NOT your phone!
3.) Hold the volume buttons.
4.) Put the battery in.
5.) Put the USB in.
You don't necessarily need the download mode image to be present. As long as you are getting the COM ID to light up yellow in ODIN, just flash back to stock like normal.

He was on a Galaxy S 4g (t959V) phone so he was in the wrong forum. If you have a samsung vibrant (t959) then go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028 and use steps 2-4 to go back to stock, the files are there also.

You should ask for help in the galaxy s 4g (t959v) forums, this is for the t959 vibrant. Here is a link that may help you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1365957

Hello,
I need some help please.
Yesterday i tried to root my SGS2 i9100G (2.3.6) using Odin fut it failed and the phone restarted with a yellow triangle.
So after reading a few threads here, i tried to restore with a 4.1.2 firmware using Odin and it failed again.
Then it was stuck with

So I downloaded the firmware I had which is I9100GXXLB1_I9100GATOKL1_ATO
but Odin keeps failing :

why don't you try with cf root via recovery?
1) Calm down. People will help you when they get the chance & not before. You do realise most of the people here are in timezones where it's still early AM, don't you ?
2) 'Odin won't work' gets covered here all the time. There are a set of troubleshooting steps you need to go through. Find similar threads, go through the steps.

I read all the threads I found concerning this error.
Should I try to tick also Re-Partition with a PIT in Odin?
If yes, where can I find this PIT file?

No. Don't flash a .pit unless you are CERTAIN it will succeed. Ask yourself this: if Odin won't succeed flashing a ROM, why would it flash a .pit successfully? If the pit file fails, your phone will need a new motherboard. End of story.
What MistahBungle was referring to are troubleshooting steps for when an Odin flash fails. Google 'windoze i9100'. Read the first result (xda thread) and follow the steps MistahBungle posts there.
Hahaha Amazing. That Google search has a thread I posted to as the top result.

Maybe because of all the times I've searched it?
Here you go Bungle: all of those results have some sort of your list. Some versions more complete than others. But I can say you have clear domination of Google search results on the topic also note 'You've visited this page many times'
Yeah I saw, when you mentioned it I did a search. That definitely means it shouldn't be necessary for anyone to post them again.

Just to clarify, the troubleshooting steps still apply. Sun90 is meaning that if you were to flash a pit, you'd need a different file.
Edit: also MistahBungle, I did write that guide. Currently just formatting/minor corrections. Will be posting soon.

Ok thanks for your answers. Now everything is working, the phone is rooted and stuff but a few applications don't work at all such as contacts...
How can i fix this?
What do you mean by 'not working?' As in they force close on opening? Or it doesn't display your contacts? If it's not displaying contacts, sign in to your google account and let them sync. If it's force closing, you can try a few things. First go into recovery and fix permissions. If that doesn't work, clear data for the offending apps. Or, If when you rooted, did you use titanium backup to back up your apps? Then did you restore every single app backup? You can't restore things such as contacts, it's a system app.
