[Q] Power button not working after Service - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

My TF201 just returned from Asus Service Center. It was a mess, I am from Argentina, so I had to send it to USA for repairings (it was completely dead after the connector broke and short circuited, motherboard had to be replaced) and then mailed to a friend in the States who mailed it back here.
The thing is the power button is no longer working, and I have to turn it on connecting it to the Power Source, somehow when it is connected it powers on.
Have any of you had a similar problem? Do you think that if I open it I will be able to fix it?

Flyer stuck or bricked?

My Flyer is stuck and won't boot or charge. The screen is lit like a preboot and that's it. The following don't work:
-Pressing the power for 20secs
-Attempting recovery via holding volume down and power
-adb or fastboot
On that note, when I connect it to my Win 7 laptop it askes for "qhsusb_dload" driver. The only ones I can find online are for the Desire HD.
same situation with my flyer weeks ago.
it's hardware I/O defect said HTC care in Jakarta, Indonesia.
so I returned it to HTC, and get repaired.
it cannot charge or even press the power button key.
Hello, same thing happened to my Flyer here in Italy just got it back from repair(2weeks) HTC told me that it had an electrical hardware problem that stopped the tablet while turning on. All solved under warranty ….
a question
Has anyone identified the trigger condition for this problem? (battery to low/sleep of death/etc)
Cheers

[Q] repair centre advice - sanity check

I recently dropped my HTC Mozart, it landed on the top right corner breaking the power switch (pushing it into the phone - phone still functioned). it's out of warranty now so I took to Sydney based (supposedly reputable) repair centre. I was able to turn the phone on by pressing the camera button or using the usb power cable and could make/receive calls.
long story short the repair centre said that there were capacitors broken off the PCB and it was more than just the switch and cable. they were going to contact HTC for the PCB circuit diagrams and attempt to get parts. Well they couldn't get these so they 'had a go'. now the phone won't power on at all and they say this is because there is moisture detected in the phone.
I explained that I was able to resume the phone using camera button to unlock the screen and that it worked prior. is it possible to get replacement PCB's or send it away to a real HTC repair centre - I think it's been bodged!

Transformer power button would just blink twice

Could someone help? Bought a second hand prime and thought to have the nearby Asus service center fix its touchscreen digitizer and camera. They said that it would cost too much to have it fixed because the "mainboard got damaged".
The device was working fine before but I thought they meant that they couldn't repair just the touchscreen because of the mainboard mismatch causing the inverted X axis so I thought to claim it and cancel the repair and just use it as an Android laptop.
When I bring it home to charge, now the tablet would not power on and would only show me 2 blinking orange lights when plugged in (to the keyboard or the wall charger ). The charger would charge the keyboard just fine (it's at green) but plugging the tablet into anything would just show me 2 blinking lights then nothing.

Hey I'm having this same problem, I noticed that this happened back in 2014, did you happen to figure it out?
Nope. I figured they ruined the device when they opened it up and I got screwed out of it. Decided to get another tablet on ebay which was cool for a while

Screen repair

I broke the screen on my LG G3 and had it repaired by a local shop. Since the repair everytime the phone turns on it says the screen appears to be damaged or broken and that Hardware Key Control is turned on, this now makes the power button on the back end calls. Is there a way to disable this or do i need to take it back because they messed something up when they replaced the screen?
I would take it back.

HTC Desire 826 Screen Blackout

My friend got his new HTC Desire 826 in July 2015. He is having issue with his phone, the screen totally blackouts. He doesn't want to repair the phone because it has no more warranty and will cost much to repair. He asked my help to recover any data possible from his phone.
This was the info I got from him: The phone would restart itself once in a while in the recent few months of use (almost the time that the warranty ended). The screen would black out sometimes, a physical hit on the phone helped to recover it. At the last few moments before the screen totally blackout, the screen showed the mirror image of what it's suppose to show (he had to put it in front of a mirror to read the message). And then it just died and never come alive again. He can't remember whether he set the phone to silent mode.
What I did: Removed and put in the battery, pressing power button gives me a short vibration (I assume that means it can be turned on). Dissemble and reassembled the boards, flex cables etc. No burn mark or broken connection seen. Connect to TV using MHL cable, no signal detected. Soft reset by pressing POWER + VOLUME UP button, it vibrated and screen was still black. Since then, charging after turn on doesn't shows red light below the front camera. The metal cover above the motherboard was usually very hot whenever the phone is on. I'm working like I'm blind, omg >_<.
What's wrong with the phone? What should I do? Possible to repair? Some questions I'd like to ask.
1) Using MHL, does the phone screen need to be working then the TV will show what's on the phone screen?
2) Is there anyway I can connect the phone to other external screen and control externally?
3) I'm hesitant to repair the phone, the heating up of the motherboard scares me that the phone won't last long even after repair. Anyone has this phone and how do u go about this heating issue?
