[Q] Requirements for AMR-WB support - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I've recently moved across to the Telstra Next G network, and noticed that it does support AMR-WB for calls.
The only ROM/modem combo at the moment that I've managed to get AMR-WB working on (including XXLSJ) is the official Telstra 4.0.4 ROM.
Does anyone know the full list of requirements to get AMR-WB working?

Hmm - Just wondering - is this specific to the i9100T modems?

Bump?
I've found that if I have a i9100T modem installed, CM10.1 supports AMR-WB for both GSM & UMTS calls. This is a major WIN.
Does anyone know *anything* about what modems support AMR-WB in what modes (GSM / UMTS / GSM & UMTS)?

[Q] WiFi channels limited

Hi
I have stock 2.3.4/4.5.2A ROM.
WiFi 2.4 doesn't recognize channels 11+, stops on 10th only. Is it a ROM limitation of the Atrix's hardware so primitive?
Any custom ROMs with wider channel support?
I particularly interested in channels 13-14.
Thanks.

[Q] Bluetooth doesn't detect all devices (on GT-I9100 /GB and ICS stock and custom)

Hi.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 (Not I9100T or I9100G).
My current Rom Is:
Android: 2.3.6
I9100XXKL1
Core: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWLA4-CL900411 [email protected] #2
Build: FIREFDS.V1.GINGERBREAD.XWLA4
I've used it with a stock hebrew gingerbread rom (from Israeli supplier) and it worked fine.
I flashed it to ICS, wasn't happy with the battery performance and went back to stock.
The only thing I did when using that ICS was setting frequencies manually.
I dialled in the digits *#2263# and set 2 bands using COMBI BAND (850 and 2100 MHZ) for my provider.
Since then I went through other roms which work fine with both frequencies without any manual tweaking.
Ever since - the Bluetooth scanning doesn't find many devices (namely headsets for making phone calls. it does find portable speakers and other smartphones) and I get bad quality audio stream to my multimedia system in my car.
The above mentioned bluetooth devices (Samsung HM1000 and WEP570) work fine with other phones (Samsung Captivate).
I am able to send files via bluetooth between my I9100 and another Samsung Captivate in both ways.
I tried flashing to various ROMS both GB and ICS for custom roms and stock roms (such as the Stock ICS) and it doesn't help at all.
I scanned the net and this forum and found no similar problem.
Help will be well appreciated. Thank you!
Hi mate try this code #*3888# this can put you on BLUETOOTH Test mode.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Hi and thanks for trying to help!
That code works for a different smartphone.
The corresponding code for the Galaxy S2 is *#232331#
But I don't know exactly what it does - I tried it and it says I'm in bluetooth RF test mode but shows no results or anything. Just has a button to exit.
Surely someone here understands how this can be fixed :
maybe a problem with ur multimedia system in the car?
I found the solution
Well... It seems that for every rom used on my galaxy s2 other than the original froyo rom whic camed preinstalled on it the only way I could find my three headphones were by making my phone visible in Bluetooth settings and also, and this is important, holding the main button of the headphones for several seconds until it was found by the phone.
This is something I haven't encountered while using the headphones with other smartphones but now that I found this I'm happy to share it.
Might help others with similar problems.

[Q] Streaming Video through GPRS on Smartphones vs Computers

I request the experts on this forum to advise me on my following observation about GPRS / EDGE performance on Smartphones:
I have observed that the Smartphones (particularly Android) do not perform as well as the computers when performance is compared on GPRS / EDGE.
I have tested streaming videos on while on GPRS / EDGE (not 3G or 4G) and observed that the smartphone gives up saying connection problem. When I stream the same videos with the same GPRS / EDGE connection through a USB Dongle (with same SIM Card inserted which was used for testing on Smartphone), the Computer performs better and is able to stream the Videos.
I request the experts to explain why this happens. The SIM and its location are the same and the speed received from it is also the same. Then why does the computer able to play it while the smartphone gives up saying connection problem.
I would like to clarify here that the GPRS / EDGE works alright on surfing websites etc. while the problem is only in streaming. I have tested this on various phones of Samsung / HTC / Motorola so the question of a particular phone having some problem does not arise.
Thank you

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S5 MIMO Allocation with Bluetooth and Wifi

Hi Everyone!
I'm thinking of purchasing a Samsung Galaxy S5, but I have a question about its Broadcom BCM4354 MIMO 5G WiFi 802.11ac / Bluetooth 4.0 / FM Radio Module. An image of it can be found at this link, which I can't seem to post because I am a new user (i58.tinypic.com/9icnfb.png).
As you can see, there are two WLAN antennas (marked #3 and #4), but only one with the capability to run both BT / WiFi. I'm wondering -- does the existence of two antennas enable developers to simultaneously receive / send bluetooth packets while receiving / sending wifi packets? I found this SO post (stackoverflow.com/questions/15927208/iphone-programmatically-use-wifi-and-bluetooth-at-the-same-time) which describes a coexistence protocol implemented in most phones that prevent them from truly use wifi / bluetooth simultaneously without any coexistence limiting.
So my question is: On the Galaxy s5, which has two antenna (both with the capability to use WIFI, but only one with the capability to use Bluetooth), if i were to programmatically send data via bluetooth and then programmatically send data via wifi, would the phone auto-allocate to use both antennae? or would it simply use a coexistence sort of deal using one antenna? If the latter, is there anyway (through root / development) that I can enable the phone two use both antenna?
Sorry if this question is ill worded, let me know if you want me to clarify anything!
Thanks

HD Voice / voLTE

Is there any way to activate HD Voice / voLTE on the Verizon Galaxy s4? I know there is a way for the international version. Can't we pull the modem from that guy or something ? Especially if we still have MDK bootloader? Also, if I were to pull my SIM card from my Galaxy s6 (with HD voice), and put it in an s4 (with nano-micro adapter) with hd voice, would I be able to make calls, or would Verizon still need to match to the CDMA MEID?
Thanks!!
