Is it possible to disable the escalating ringer. I hate that it starts ringing softly and then gets louder, is there a way to turn this off?
Download "Disable Increasing Ring" from the Play Store. Gets rid of that "feature" and is free and doesn't require root. To get rid of the ongoing notification, hold it and click "App info" and uncheck "show notifications"

You are the man :highfive:
Wow really. This should be a default option in the Sound settings, shouldn't require a 3rd party app to disable this "feature." How lame.

I am on the latest UHLPS rom.
The balance popup after I send a text message gives me a notification tone, which is very annoying.
In earlier versions this did not happen.
Can anyone help me in this?

Thanks.
I already checked it out.
But I am not looking for this.
This app disables the ussd popups.
But I dont want to disable the popup, instead I just dont want notification tone or vibration when it pops up.
Anyways, thanks for the concern
Hey,
just mute the phone
if you still want other sounds just mute |sounds-notifications-mute| and put |notification vibration level bar to "no vibration"| :good:
Since I updated to Lollipop, I noticed the lockscreen playback music controls are gone. I have tried multiple music apps, but none of them work. There isn't even a notification when the screen is locked, so I have to unlock my device every time I want to change songs/etc. Has anyone found a way around this problem/do you guys experience it too?
I too have that issue nit sure is that bug or not
I thought it was an issue, the I noticed because of security reasons my notifications weren't showing (you probably also get like "hidden message" notification when you receive a text. .) Just go to "sound" and look for the notification option... it's at the bottom..

no, that's not it. I have that set to "Show all content", but music controls still aren't displayed. When your device is locked, do you get the option to control music?

When getting one of my apps after rooting, pebble time, it said it required notification access. When trying to enable this it took me to the sound & notification settings; after looking around I couldn't find any way to allow it to read my notifications (not accessibility settings). Is there any way around this?
Thanks in advance - mymindstorm
(I tried to put in screenshots, but my ranking is too low, sry)
Did you go to the app In Settings>manage all apps? There's a box under Force Stop to "Show Notifications." If you did that and it didn't have the notifications option, there's an Xposed module called AppOpsXposed that should let you turn on notifications.

I probably didn't word that right, I need the app to read the notifications. Normally there would be a section in settings for this, but it is removed.
I recently upgraded to lollipop and want to remove that pointless carrier name in the top left corner of the screen. if xposed still doesn't work, is there another, similar app that does?

Settings->Display
Here you will see "Display Carrier Name" with option to turn it off. Turn it off and you are done.
Might as well turn off the "Display Network Speed" too while you are here.

You should be able to go to settings in your notifications, and toggle vibrate to off.
I installed an edge app since I really liked that feature on my s7 edge, but now it get a notification when I pull down from the top.
There is a notification there that says the edge app is displaying over another app and I cannot get rid of it. I can delay it and make it go to sleep for an hour, but I cannot dismiss the app.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I'm using a program called AutoNotification from the Play Store and it gets rid of those annoying Displaying over other apps prompts.

I have tried that, but it still shows enabled.
I hold down the notification I want to get rid of, then select the setting cog (by swiping right or left), which opens up the android notification panel.
I find the notification that I want to disable, "edge screen displaying over other apps" and select. I turn off all the notifications but it still shows enabled on the android notification panel. Would you know how to turn that off?
Thanks for your help.
