Just look at the difference.

Try going to settings> lock screen> lock screen settings> disable ripple effect and ink effect
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Yeah confirmed this is due to the ripple effect. It creates a shimmer reflection effect on the surface of your wallpaper, because it makes it into a live wallpaper so to speak.
I was bugging out at first because I use a flat black wallpaper and it's REALLY pronounced. Thought I had some kind of wierd burn in on the left side of my screen

For best results set image size to medium in the settings.

I am using Go Launcher Ex. I've turned off wallpaper scrolling on the homescreen, and it works until i reboot the phone. It will then become stretched and scrollable even though it's turned off. This also happens in LauncherPro. To set it back to normal I have to switch to Touchwiz and back. Also, this doesn't happen in touchwiz. Any ideas?
Before rebooting phone:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
After rebooting phone:
your wallpaper is likely the wrong resolution for a wallpaper on android. what resolution is your image? it needs 960x800 to be a proper wallpaper and not be stretched.
common mistake is people use 800x480 size which is wrong and will stretch.
Something I found recently when trying to get a 'consistent' CM9 look across my lockscreen and homescreen that you can apply a transparent png as your lockscreen wallpaper and it will 'show through' to your home screen wallpaper.
Try this as a wallpaper along with my 'mashup' (thanks to wajk) ICS theme or with any other theme, disable wallpaper scrolling using Andy's Extended Settings and get that CM9 feel on your MIUI

yammm. thx
Awesome
had the same problem on the note II never did find solution but now with my note III I would like to solve this.
when I select a wallpaper and I stretch the selection window to pick what I want it always uses less than what I select it "stretches or blows up" the image some cutting off the top and bottom making it look muddy.
what can I do to correct this. it does not do this on the lock screen just on the desktop (widget lock screen and launcher prime does the same thing in touchwiz)
suggestions?
Here is the lock screen

is there a special dimension size I need to use to get it to stop cropping my image for the desktop?
