Charging cable color? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

What color is the charging cable? I have the grey phone, but my cable is white... is that how it is supposed to be?
I'm used to black cables for all previous Samsung phones, so the white cable threw me off.

That's the only color that comes with this phone that I have seen mentioned in all the other times I've seen this brought up. I have the gray phone and got a white charger, same as you.

Funny you mention this. Wife just got GS3 (WHITE) and it came with a black charger/cable. I just got the GN2 (TITANIUM) and it came with a white charger/cable. I am tempted to complain to see if I can get another charger from Verizon....

Samsungs 2amp chargers all seem to be white, complaining about it isn't gonna change that, if you have to have it black for some reason you'll have to go with aftermarket products

Mine came with a white cable as well, I believe they all do.

Ok, thanks for the input!

Ahh I see. I just looked at them and saw the 1A vs 2A. I had no idea they were different amperage.

Same exact thing happened to me. I just gave the wife my white charger, made her happy.

My dad got black sgIII with black cable and I got grey note II with white cable. So I think they all come that way.

The will charge you a restocking fee. $36 maybe? I forget the amount.
You can probably find someone to trade you.

They didn't charge me. I got rid of the white because of the soft key light bleeding.
I love the ceramic white. I chose it because most phones are black and this isn't like most phones ;-)

You should have just turned them off in the settings. It's easy enough to memorize the pattern/location of the capacitive buttons. I was so glad to see it implemented on the Note because since my Captivate I've wanted to turn them off.
Hell, I wish I could remove the symbols and just have a blank white Bezel that looks super clean. I know where the buttons are, why the need to see them? Haha.

Shame they actually didn't use red LED's. Instead they put some crappy red/pinkish looking film.
That thing is super sexy. Id love to get rid of that stupid Verizon logo. I've seen the digitizer itself on eBay that looked like that, I was going to get it but I actually like the red buttons.

Rushed To Get an S3, Love it, Don't Like Pebble Blue.. Exchange for White?

I really want to exchange this phone for a white one when they are available - I paid almost $700 and do not want to pay the $75 restocking fee to exchange it. I ran Dead Pixel Tester and found 2 dead or stuck pixels. Will they let me exchange it for a NEW white phone if I complain to retention? Any ideas?

I was mad when I found out the white s3 wouldn't ship till later. I bit the bullet and bought the blue one and I was surprised because the blue ain't bad at all, I actually like it and it looks like the whole phone is brushed metal.

That's exactly what I thought. I went into the store telling myself I wouldn't buy it if they didn't have the white one because I'd seen the promo pictures and didn't like it as much. Then I saw a guy with a blue one outside the store and it totally changed my mind. It's much more reserved than what I expect the white one to look like. The blue isn't overwhelming and blends nicely with the lighter blue on the edges.

The white on plastic phones has a tendency to turn blue if you wear jeans. Just a warning.
Also, my Blue one looks AMAZING! It isn't near as blue as pictures make it look, more of a titanium.
Yeah I didn't like the blue at first, but now that I have it, it's beautiful.

OEM HTC Droid DNA Charging Port Rubber Cover

I know a few people have pulled theirs off on purpose. My puppy chewed mine off and it irritates me not being there now. I had been looking to replace it and found this:
http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-htc-droid-incredible-x-droid-dna-charging-port-rubber-cover.html
$4 is cheap but it costs $18 to ship it.... has anyone found them for sale anywhere else?
I would email HTC first, they might send you one... I just needed a usb cable because mine broke and they sent a cable ans wallcharger!

That is the only site I have ever seen that sells it. I looked a couple days ago and they didn't even have it in stock, looks like it's back now though. 18 dollars for shipping is kinda ridiculous if you ask me though.

If you want it bad enough.... I ripped mine off cause it was falling off anyway
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I'd say it's not worth it at any price. It's just going to fall off again. Pretty much everyone I've known with one whether they liked it or hated it it still fell off soon or didn't function well anyway.
I always try to play nice with my phones. I hated that cover from day one but as always played nice (didn't rip or cut it off) but the day it fell off, I picked it up and put it in original box I also kept. My HTC incredible 1 and my HTC thunderbolt both made it till next upgrade with out that cover. Reminds me of those port covers on the older dumb phones that never really had a purpose but to make the port weaken over time, then go bad and phone quit charging. Not worth replacing at any price. But good luck to you if you really feel you need one!

I bought a used Employee Edition DNA and the owner ripped off the USB cover and did not mention it...
That site was the only one I found as well, and at first it was OOS but when it came back that shipping definitely killed it for me. Granted, it is shipping from Korea I believe, but it isn't worth it to buy a black USB cover... if it was Red I might have just sucked it up...
They may fall off "easily", but I have no use for the USB port right now anyway since I'm using a wireless charger... there are always ways to work around the USB cable to transfer files as well. Not sure why so many people look down on people who want to keep their flap intact...

I agree that it does get in the way... so much in fact that I did not want to use a DNA until I got a wireless charger =\
I'm just a bit OCD with my phones and given that the back is red, and then there's a sudden black break along the bottom with the missing USB door... just looks off to me.
---
I wonder why even replacement DNA Body kits do not include the USB door either...

Only reason I haven't ripped it off is because of old phones the internal end would rattle around. Anyone noticing that or specifically not noticing so I can join the no plug club?

It may depend on how you rip it out. Mine was already removed, but it seems to be cut and the rubber end in the phone is staying put and does not make any noise. I'd take your cover if you do get rid of it though

I would like to know if it really does keep water out as well, it says the phone is water resistant, but could that little plastic piece really hold back anything? FYI mine has been taken off as well so annoying to use i just said screw it and ripped it off one day. Haven't looked back since
For those of you that have replaced this rubber port cover, how easy/difficult was this process?
To replace the cover, you have to take off the entire back. The little port cover isn't held on by anything though, it just sits between the phone and the plastic backing. Unless you're an expert at taking unibody phones apart, it's not worth it because I broke the waterproof seal strip during the process. It was glued on.
Looks like you can get one for $6.80 here w/ free shipping

Not at all, I'm not a big fan either but some people like it.
After about a year my GNexus usb port broke ( using a Philips Docking Station to charge ) so constant wair/tear on usb port can render it useless. I've seen others with similar problems. The wireless option would preserve the port for more important things other than charging.
I tried wireless charging I preferred the extra batteries route

It's just about convenience. I still haven't jumped on board, hasn't been worth the price IMHO, so far. Even with the $20 cover, you still have to get a wireless charging pad.
One other thing to note. Wireless charging is slower and thus preserves not only USB port, but battery longevity! Efficient.

I wonder how long it would take to charge the Note 3 battery. My S4 battery took quite a while to charge. The Note 3 battery is give or take about 1000mAh bigger than the S4

Another consideration is whether cases will still fit since the charging cover is thicker.

I like wireless charging, since it is pretty convenient... have 3 charging plates at various plates at home/work, using it with S3 right now. Wonder if there is a Qi card option vs. the plate for the Note 3, given that it is pretty thin.

You can mod it to fit but i hear with the wireless backplate, your case won't fit
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
I hope it doesn't increase the thickness of the device much, unlike the S4 where it was pretty noticeable. As for charging speculation, I'm wondering if there will be a USB 3.0 specific wireless charger solution or something, if that's even possible. Otherwise I'd imagine it'd take forever for such a high mAh battery to charge up wirelessly to the point where I think it'd be better just to buy the spare battery/battery charger base accessory seeing how good the battery life is.

my nexus 7 takes about 5 hours
If that were the case here then two hours vs. five would be too slow for my tastes. My Note 3 went from 1% to 100% in two hours on the 3.0 charger...
