Verizon Network Call Management - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Has anyone else noticed on our device that if you make a call to "party A" and "party B" calls you ... when you end call on "party B" then the phone will ring you back and connect you back to "party A".
BUT!!
If you are called by "party A" and while on the phone "party B" calls you and you swap over, and then disconnect with "party B" by pressing end call you disconnect both A and B at the same time.
And to add more hurt ...
If you're on the phone with "party A" and "party B" calls, you swap over, say your goodbyes, and swap back over ... the line from "party B" does not clear, it just stays there crunching minutes...
Does anyone know how to get around this crap? My friend has the T-Mobile version and she does not have any of these problems...

By no responses... I take it this is normal and of no concern to anyone else? I guess I'm just weird... lol

i know what you're talking about....i hate it to as i take a lot of business calls on my phone and trying to merge them is a royal pain the ass...and then, if you're not careful, one of the calls continues in the background even though you think it's ended and then you get billed for the minutes joy...

Yeah I've pretty much had this problem since I started my cell phone ownership career back in 2005 with Verizon. Doesn't matter what device I've used, they all act basically exactly how you stated.

Ugh ok now I can't make calls

Sorry for all the topics. I just unrooted and I have that little "target" sign looking thing next to wifi. I have a signal. I called *228 and hit 1 and reset and then I did it for 2 and reset.
What's up with this?
Also, I'm returning my phone and this is totally unrelated but what number should I call for technical support to try to get a free upgrade?
edit: This is probably for tech support to fix.
611 from another Verizon phone. They are going to try and talk you thru all types of fixes. Just be nice and joke with them a bit. If they cant fix it, they will transfer you to another level of tech support. If they cant fix it there they will issue you another device. If you have had several Eris's returned, tell them that you can't rely on this device because of all of problems you have had with it and you cant justify your monthly phone bill with all of these phone problems. Usually that is enough to get them talking about a totally different device.
Yeah I called support. I actually had ended up fixing it with *228. I'm going to call again monday (Actually they said they would call me) and I'm going to ask them if I can get an upgrade because the Eris has just been having a lot of problems.

My rezound is broken in quite interesting way... any hopes of recovery?

The Facts:
1. My rezound was dropped from approximately 1.5' and did not leave a dent when dropped. It had a protective case on at the time.
2. My rezound instantly stated that no SIM card was inserted. I fiddled with it and tried a friend's VZW SIM card, however, it still received the same message, and shows the disconnected icon in the top right corner.
3. the radio is good. I checked the radio by dialing 9-11 and hanging up upon hearing the first ring.
The Question:
Is this an issue that can be resolved without returning the device under factory warranty?
I would say try applying light pressure around the outter edge of the phone, to see if it seperated somewhere...and also try a bit around the sim area....if that's no go...try a factory reset

THIS!! What is wrong with people? In my area, 911 calls you back if you ring and hang up.
I would remove and reinsert and make sure the SIM card is inserted in the right direction (maybe better with your friends known working card). I know you said you checked this, but I have personally made the mistake of putting the SIM in the wrong way and then wondering for 30 minutes why the phone wouldn't detect the SIM card.

Prank calling 911 is FELONY and punishable up to
a year or more and $10,000 fine for first offense depending on the state you reside in.
Accidental calling does happen and detectives do followup on those if determined to be related to other like ocurances. But in your case you proved it was no accident.
911 is for emergencies you douchebag and not for your testing pleasure!!
UPDATE: Fine is upto $25,000 & upto 3 years imprisonment for a first offense depending on your state. FCC can also file federal charges if call was placed by a mobile type device for first offense.

wow. alot of butt hurting going on in here. it rang one time and he hung up. its not like they answered and then he hung up. and save ya'lls BS and crying at me. i'm a volunteer firefighter, so its not like i'm not involved in 911 calls. I'm also a telecom tech and make test calls to 911 to verify addresses. i'm guess i'm a douchebag for that. if a phone isnt setup for service correctly, then the only thing it will dial is 911. he had no other choice.

I worked in the EMS field as well and setup 911/emergency systems for cities and FEMA for many many years so its not hate and discontent. if you Work for a communications company and your are responsible for setting up and testing communication hardware and software then it is legal as long as a valid permit is in your or the company you work for posession.
What he did was not legal.....even if it only rang once and did not go through....it did get logged on the call server.
He had a choice....He could have called 611 to the carrier.....even a nonactivated phone can make this call. the carrier could have made a test call and/or data push to test the device, or he could have
call his device from his home phone/work phone. What he did was just stupid and childish....so ya most of us ems folks do take it seriously and if you are part of the community you should too....
Common sense if not so common these days.
But if he did not want to call verizon then post#2 is his best bet. Otherwise he should call verizon from his home phone

Y'all chill out that's the first thing he thought of. I know it's bad but I called but said that my phone accidentally called due to the 911 shortcut you people are blowing it way out of proportion. G'd lay off!

Okay, so the point has been made that test calling 911 is not cool. I think its clear.
+1 on that, btw.
I'm curious to know if the apply pressure deal fixed the issue. Any update?
P.S. flaming is bad...even if it is for a legit cause.

Give this guy a break and help him out. My first phone used to butt dial 911 every so often because it wouldn't lock and holding the 9 button would dial 911.
I'm sure I caused mass havoc and the Army was called in. Relax, not everybody needs to make a case as to why it wasn't cool, we get that.
On that note OP, can you connect to 3G? Also, is there any reason you can't go to a store and have them look at it (rooted/rom/etc.)?

[SOLVED]Activation Issues?

Is it just me or is anyone else having activation issues?
First, I tried activating it with the DEC numbers on the side of the box. Showed up the right Evo4GLTE but it told me I had to contact customer support.
Contacted chat support. They did the ESN swap for me easily but the phone never activated. After waiting and waiting it didn't activate so I decided to call Sprint and get transferred to Tech because I already went through the initial troubleshooting steps with Chat Online.
Tech support tells me to read the HEX or DEC number from the back of the phone. This ends up being DIFFERENT then whats on the label on the outside of the box. Stupid me. Or was it? She goes on to tell me that MY phone is under some other persons name "Karen". She asks me if I got this phone from someone basically implying that I stole it. I explain to her how we've all been waiting for a long time for this phone and this phone is BRAND NEW not even out in stores yet.
So whats the deal? I'm currently on hold with them but to be honest I think HTC or someone ****ed up in the labeling process and now everyone is trying to activate EVERYONE ELSE'S phone. WTF?!
More on this as the story unfolds.....
Update #1: Supervisor in the activation department says that someone screwed up and put the phone in the wrong box and since it's "keyed" into my account... simply switching the esn to my account wouldn't work. He goes on to say that they would have to get me a NEW DEVICE.
No way in hell am I going to let this happen.
Update #2: Had to get transferred to escalations. Janice from escalations told me she had fixed the issue and I should be able to activate it now through the website. Activated it on the website and now I have a functional EVO4GLTE!!
TLDR: Make sure you activate it with the the numbers found on the inside of the phone. Do not use the numbers from the label because they might be different!
when i talked to the guys at my best buy they told me that sprint was having problems activating the lte's today... But i havent picked mine up yet so i dont know..
I had to call them to activate mine as well. Everything worked fine after 10 minutes of the agent doing something while I waited. Sorry to hear about your issue regarding an already activated account though, that sounds quite annoying.

Did the phone start an activation process when you booted it AFTER you entered the DEC number on the web.
If it did not try doing an Update Profile.
I have not tried mine yet. But I just swapped phones around last night and sometimes you need to kick it.
Oh try pulling the battery, just kidding
I wonder if Karen works in Customs.

Yes. I probably should make that more clear on my original post. Activation screen popped up but it never activated because I entered in the RIGHT number that was on the label but the phone had a different set of serial numbers.

Apple strikes again?
Tried the activation menu when it popped up on the phone. I got all the way to the end when it asks to pick which number on the account to activate it to and then failed.
Called in and they were having a little trouble saying something about the phone being applied to a different number on my account. She started to say something about checking that number and then said "oh its the same number".
I'm wondering if it has something to do with LTE or if the device is registered in their system a little different. She couldn't even tell what device it was untill I told her. Then she started asking questions about it. She said there were only a few demos floating around and most reps had never seen one.
Everything's working great so far.

I had the same thing and was able to activate via chat.
I tried to activate online, and it also told me I needed a new plan (coming from the OG EVO.) I had the Everything 450 plan. It gave me a few selections, including the same plan, so I chose it. Then it said I need to call Sprint.
I spent the next 45 minutes on the phone, while the CSR tried to figure out why it was telling her I needed a new plan, and it wouldn't let her transfer the service. Finally, after she said they had 3 people working on it, they figured out that Google Voice was the problem.
She said they'd have to "expire" my Google Voice account, and they weren't sure if I could keep the same GV number when I installed it on the new phone. I told them to go ahead, and it worked. I just installed GV, and it seems to be working fine, with my original number.
She said they'd look into why Google Voice was causing a problem.
Not just you
I also had my evo LTE switched with another persons, it just so happened that that other person was my sister who was sitting next to me getting her phone activated. When she was on the phone with the call center to activate it I noticed all of a sudden "my phone" was activated with her number.

I had the same thing happen to me. I guess when they were verifying the patent they didn't make sure they put the devices back in the correct box. Spent 4 hours with sprint, and 5 different people before they figured out what was going on.
They never told me that they couldn't swap the devices, it was pretty easy once they figured out what had happened. Now it is fully functional
if you were paying attention, and they made you enter a code to edit your MSN, the code they gave you was your MSL. i had a lady tell me three times she couldn't give me my MSL, then followed it with 'now, enter your MSL, it's blah blah blah.' when i asked if the number she just gave me was in fact my MSL, she said 'hold on, you need to speak with my supervisor', then hung up.
that number will make everything easier. i've never had an issue getting it on my other phones, but apparently something has changed . she was adamant about not giving it to me, until she had to.
I thought you had to wait x amount of days before they can just give it to you

Block call history in Project Fi? (Nexus 5X)

This is kind of a strange question, but basically I was helping my friend root/rom tonight, but he said he had to call his parents before we started. We are both freshman in college so his parents are still watching over his shoulder and are also paying his phone bill. They noticed a call in his logs after 10:30 from someone they thought he was with, and thus immediately assumed he was sneaking off/doing drugs/whatever, and proceeded to accuse him of sneaking off on speaker phone in front of me.
Basically, what I'd like to set up if I can, is a way to block calls from being recorded in the call log after 10:30? Is this even possible?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Nokia 7.2 Strange Behavior neither here or there

Back in March, purchased four new Nokia 7.2 phones for the family. Moved the Sims from old to new devices and activated them through my carrier, and all was working fine with all four phones.
Then today, one of them, one that belonged to one of my kids, started behaving really oddly. I should say, some other things started a few days earlier, like some mmorpg aps started telling my kid to use device he made account with, which is what they were doing when trying to log in.
Today, it got stranger. Went to send my same child to a party using my AP to buy the ride and send it to my kids phone. My side showed it was working, but my kids got no notifications what so ever, so made a share link, and sent that which worked.
Once AP showed me they got to their location, waited for the call which was a system we set up to verify they got to where they were supposed to. Call didn't come, which was not normal, so called their phone and also sent a text message. Phone rang and rang first time with no one picking up. Figured maybe they got absent minded, as they were at a party saying bye to their best friend who was moving from the USA. So tried again, to have someone answer who was obviously very angry, and yelled in a language I still have no clue, and then hung up. I immediately believe either they are in trouble, or had their phone stolen, so call their friend who hands my kid their phone and my kid tells me, he tried calling me, but call would not work, just total silence so they called my wife instead to say they were ok. My kid also tells me they still have their phone and it's been on them all this time, so no clue how someone else could have answered their phone.
I decide to try something, and log into my account as all 4 phones are registered to me, and go to see where their phone is located, but was unable to as their phone did not show up, only the other 3 did.
I then try something else and log directly into my kids account to try same thing, except doing so, caused the application to lock up almost every try.
When I finally did log in, did a location find, and every time map refreshed, it either showed my kids location or jumped outside the USA map and locked up. I try making phone ring, a few times, which resulted in getting two text messages in a foreign language with characters I never seen. I even noticed that the two pop up messages were not even in the mms text message ap.
Shortly after, my kid calls me to say his phone location ringer went off once, and wanted to make sure it was me. Only once, out of 6 or 7 tries.
After they got off, their phone showed up on the other account where it was missing earlier, and the location stayed now where my kid was. When they got home, checked the parental so, and saw only one location ring was recieved.
Is their something new, that allows someone to steal services off ones phone? Makes me wonder if we got a used phone.
Reminds me of a neighbor who got arrested for many break-ins several years ago. They would break into homes and steal what people wouldn't miss, but stupidly got caught because the idiot who broke into our house and stole an old tablet packed up in our garage, was only a house down from mine and close enough to connect to our asus router. When I saw the request to connect by a device that should be dead after 4 years boxed up, did a gps and not only shocked to see it in my neighbors home, but the amount of times they went back and fourth between not just our home, but other neighbors as well. Pd was going to call it a civil matter, but quickly changed when I activated the very loud siren sound I had saved as a location ringer. Look on their face was priceless. Anyways, not sure if getting a new sim is in order, or just make the seller replace the phone in question as the whole mess with my kids phone is baffling.
