Hello guys,
I have a sgs2 smartphone which was earlier running on android gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware rooted and recently i have updated it to XXLSJ Jellybean 4.1.2 from droidviews.com/2012/leaked-samsung-4-1-2-xxlsj-firmware-rootedgalaxy-s2/ unrooted one the installation was successfull and used it for about two days and running ok so i thought of rooting it so i have downloaded root files from androidadvices.com link androidadvices.com/root-galaxy-s2-gti9100-xxlsj-jellybean-412-firmware/after rooting through odin it was sucessfull and with green pass ok..as soon as the phone gets rooted the device boots itself and stuck in boot screen and i am unable get into recovery mode by pressing volume up + home + power button i the only thing my phone can do is to get into odin mode i dont know what to do now...help this is giving me sleepless nights..
Flash Philz's kernel via ODIN. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270 and Factory reset after flashing it. Instructions can be found in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270 :victory:
You have flashed a kernel (Siyah v4) which doesn't support Jelly Beans. :silly: I have contacted the blog owner and hopefully he correct this before causing any further damage It is always nice to ask for some help.
For further questions please post in newbie/RC thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1648351&page=162
Thanks for the super quick reply, i have been through the threads that you have posted but i am totally confused what to download and what to flash through odin...it will be a huge help if you can find the kernel for me to prevent future damage to my phone..please help
Download Philz Kernel for XXLSJ from here http://www.mediafire.com/?2d893461cjg2rbe. and follow these instructions

What kernel to choose:
The important part is the Kernel code:
XWLPX-NEE
Kernel code is in red (LPX), for this example, you need an LPX ROM. However, often, you can mix kernels when they are close: LPF kernel with LPG ROM...
NEE code doesn't matter at all, I add it for reference. It is the CSC
XW: mixed, often doesn't matter for close regions. For example, XW and XX are often interchangeable. However, mixing a BU with an XW ROM or inversly, sometimes works, but often ends in a bootloop. In that case, either boot into recovery or download mode to reflash

I would recommend, downloading this file again it is MD5checksum issue.
Or
try siyah
download Siyah v6 Beta3 from this link http://d-h.st/Dve (checksum : 9369125b6c855b8dc77cb5acd54bb405 ) and flash as it is.
http://www.gokhanmoral.com/
You can always verify checksum using tools like http://checksumtool.sourceforge.net/
Keep Calm it is not a hard brick, just a kernel issue.

Hi guys!
I've got a problem with my sgs2. When I tried to flash a rom (turbkey, xwlp2) on the screen apears "kernel panic upload mode". I only can go to download mode. The ones which works is xxlpq (the first which I installed). I tried all wipes, ultimate kernel cleaning script and superwipe but nothing can solve this problem. Someone help?

dude, this is not to give a solution but for knowledge, I had a similar problem....
where are you trying to install the ROM from, CWM? and when is the screen turning into the said upload mode and how its looks like?
Yes, I flashed it by cwm. It appears when phone is rebooting after flashing rom. Everything was good. Rom was flashed successfully but this image appeared. On upper lef corner is red inscription [ RST_STAT = 0x20000000 ]and android beast. And also inscription KERNEL PANIC UPLOAD MODE.

somebody had posted like this on my below thread...
"sounds like kernel panic but as far as I know, you shouldn't be able to get there with any button combinations, sometimes reboot fixes this, sometimes wipe"
so try with a wipe.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1512299
But how to do wipe when I can only go to download mode?
So I should flash the working rom( xxlpb ), then wipe cache and then flash not working rom and pray and again flash and wipe and flash to infity (or when rom will work )?

Hello, I performed the recommended upgrade from kies.
Then I rooted my phone for the third time (two previous were successful).
I followed the instructions from there: http://www.techjamaica.com/forums/s...ur-Galaxy-SII-by-a-2-day-old-Android-Newbie!& as per two previous times.
My phone now won't boot. It stays at the boot screen with the yellow exclamation point.
I tried to read relevant threads from here and the web. What I did is:
- removed the battery for 10 minutes, press the on-off button for some secs
- tried to connect it via Kies
- tried to connect it via Kies at download mode
- tried to re-root it via Odin (it said success but still cannot boot)
All above had no success. Now I am without mobile since early morning.
What else can I try to fix it?
Before rooting it, and immediately after the update, the phone was working.
Go to Recovery Mode and try Wipes...
Thanks. Will revert
ok I entered to recovery mode and wiped cache partition - nothing happened
should I wipe data/factory reset?
Ignore step 3 onwards and just flash a CF-root kernel matching your version. In other words, follow the instructions to root from this forum, not some random Jamaica tech forum.

However I still cannot boot. Should I hardware reset the device? Is this my only option?
Well nothing worked. I booted to "ClockwoorkMod Recovery v4.0.0.2" and deleted/wiped everything, even hardware reset it.
I am still stuck with the yellow exclamation mark. How is even possible that hardware reset doesn't working?
Please help.

First time Android use and rooter and I've got a problem with my S3. I have rooted successfully and then downloaded an app from Google Play which allowed me to change the font, after doing this and rebooting the phone it sticks on the boot screen
Can anyone help me to try and get my phone back to a functioning state?
PS I dont have an SD Card installed if that makes any difference?
Thanks

Sorry, bit tired here, not much sleep last night, and the light bulb is only dim . Maybe I missed something easy Or you're missing a step somewhere.
You could try:
1. Flash Chainfire [RECOVERY][11.06.2012] ClockWorkMod Recovery 5.5.0.4 - "v1.4". This will give you root and CWM recovery.
2. Download a custom ROM xx.zip (don't extract, it's flashable zip for CWM recovery I would recommend Wanamlite
3. Copy to external sdcard
4. Boot into CWM and Install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > flash.............
5. Allow at least 5+ mins for first boot
[ROM][XXALF2][15 Jun][V1.2] WanamLite Smooth, Stable & Battery Friendly
Or.
[ROM][CWM][ZSALED/XXALF2][ICS][4.0.4] Odexed & Fully Deodexed Stock Roms

Hi Frnds,

I also need a suggestion, can i also upgrade my FW with ICS 4.0.4 and then root it again?
Please suggest i m doing it first time.
Thanks in adv.
Hi,
which method did you try?
CWM Recovery or via ODIN (you need to go in Download Mode for Odin)?
You can update any FW - if you flash stock you have to root again, if you flash custom you got root (bcz of the implemented kernel)
The leaked 4.0.4 is not recommended to flash bcz of the hardbrick probs, and in your case i wouldnt try it bcz you already fail at flashing a kernel

Maybe I missed a new version of ODIN as I do not know the one you use. For the SGS2 I use ODIN 3 V1.85, see the title bar of the attached screen shot.
I suggest you try with ODIN 3 version 1.85.
I have both Odin version that is Odin3_v3.04 and Odin3-v1.85 but reason i m using latest one because in old one 1.85 odin doest reply any result though latest 3.04 atleast show me result fail.
I really don't know what is happening and how can i root my SGS2 4.0.3?
Please help me...
Nevertheless, please try with V1.85 and post resulting screen shot. At least we should see how ODIN gets stuck. Perhaps it is easier to debug even the information reported by V1.85 is not accurate.
PS: Please use the 'Manage Attachments' button to upload a screen shot.
I am here attached Odin Fail Report
Hi Frnds,
First thanks for all to helping out.. I have attached Odin Latest version screenshot and with old version 1.85 nothing is happening no result i mean. its just stuck after connecting device.
I have also attached my Mobile setting screenshot.
I hope that attached picture will help you to understand my problem
What makes you think that things will work better with ODIN V3.04 then with ODIN V1.85? The fact that you see more 'information'? Maybe this information is just misleading...
Anyway: from what you say ODIN V1.85 is doing (nothing!) I suggest you do:
1. make sure Kies is not running
2. reinstall the latest USB drivers
3. use another USB cable
4. try another computer
Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Task Manager>Processes. Kill anything that start with "Kies".
Odin and Kies are like sworn brothers. They hate each other. Run Odin in Windows XP compatibility mode & also run it as Administrator. This works for me and hope it will work for you too....good luck.
Thanks @fxrb and other frnd too,
Finaly i am able to successfull root my SGS2. Now please let me know what can i do next like i have remove few inbuild software and how i allow root permission to recording apps.Do i need to install superoneclick?

and has been doing so ever since ... just gets stuck at that very 1st galaxy s3 logo.
tried flashing the rom again ...odin fails saying no pit file found .... ditto flashing a kernal ...
looked around net and tried flashing a pit file ... odin log says > Re-Partition operation failed ....
anybody been able to fix something like this....? i have a few pit files i've found ..none seem to work.
are they rom specific ?

Why are you trying to repartition your phone..PIT-Partition Information Table..is used for partitioning the flash memory of your device.. flash the firmware as PDA with repartition checked off..

how is the phone now? still not working?
So what is the status now? your phone recovered or not?

??i've got a stock galaxy s3, can only work in download mode :crying:
try this set but follow the screenshots carefully. If not... join the club, search for "sudden death" thread in General section, then, service can be your only option.
