I use Estaskmanger, it shows you information about your device and it shows that the pixel density is only 240 ppi, soI want to check if other users have the same thing with sola
Just installed es task manager, and you're right. 240 ppi
maybe Xperia Sola render things in sub-Native resolution then upscales it?
thus resulting in lower DPI than what should be.

Is there any other information tool to test with because I tried it with other phones and it shows lower ppi than it should be
My friend has a galaxy pocket and it should be 143 ppi but on es task manager it showed only 120 ppi
So i thought there might be something wrong with the app

Ok here is the question ,
recentlly nova thor U 8500 seem like quite popular for midrange phone as the phone below use it
s advance , ace 2 , sola , xperia U / p / go
However , the only device which are able to record 1080p video is xperia P .
I wonder what make P different from other device ?
The clock speed and chip is totally same on s advance / p / u / sola
Been searching through web but no people even mention it .
The camera sensor. Obvious huh.

I am sure. The problem is not in the CPU speed. It's not that your sensor can't record 1080p, it's that it's unreasonable. When your device gets CM9, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to have 1080 too.

Haha, no.
If I stick a 2MP camera on a 512MHz MSM7227 single core device, I won't even get 720p.
And megapixels don't matter all that much, its what's in the camera sensor that does.
well 720p means just the resolution with ration 16:9,right? 1280 * 720 = 0,92 MP, 1080p = 1440 * 1080 = 1,6MP. 5mp camera is enough for both of 720p and 1080p. But I think why just P because the RAM. P has 1GB of RAM. You know,recording 1080p need a lot of processing, maybe 512GB RAM phone able to do this but I guess has a lower bit rate and graphic quality.
Hey, Xperia s can record at 1080p as well...

hi i am trying to do a port from a rom that has a different screen resolution to the phone i want to port to i have the rom booting fine but at the wrong resolution can anyone tell me how to change this, thanks in advance
The dpi value in build.prop
How much of a resolution are you trying to change?Like for instance is it hard to port a ROM from a phone that has a 4x7" screen to a 4x3" screen. Thanks in advance!!!

thanks for the reply there is no dpi option in the build.prop even on the working version of the rom which is very confusing even if i take the build.prop from the working rom and copy it to the one i want to change the resolution off it does not help
I believe this line is the line you are looking for in the build.prop
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density=[some number here]
mine for the HTC Rezound on my rom is 320
Can I change the resolution and port a ROM from a HTC one x to a HTC sensation?Is it possible to do that?and is it a hard process to do. Thanks
Bruce's 4.1.2 j.b. rom
Can I change resolution and port ROM from the Galaxy S2 (800x480px) to the SE Xperia Mini Pro (480x320px)?

just helping
hey guys i m new to android development but according to my research i found this in my build.prop :
ro.sf.7x27A.lcd_density=240
ro.sf.8x25.lcd_density=240
So you gotta edit those lines in your build.prop or you can look in your base rom's build.prop And my devices are samsung galaxy grand and celkon ct 888
Screen Resolution depends on Hardware...Its not Resolution you guys are trying to change,its the Screen Density per Inch.......And porting 720p ROms will work on Devices having lower Resolution but it wont give 720p Resolution :victory:
any one help
I got 2 phones with different screen size and resolution
my base rom is 4.5 inches 540 X 960
my port rom is 5 inches and 480 x 854 what changes do i need to do

Thanks, will try and report back.
Works good on P, and it even looks good
Can you tell me the resolution, because, In my opinion Xperia U, P, sola and go have the same resolution, so this will work on all then?

even though xperia neo v and live with walkman have same specifications, such as same processor,gpu etc but gaming on live with walkman is more smoother.... why this happens???

Did you observe the screen resolution? Lww is 320*480... Lesser than neo v... There are lesser pixels for the gpu to push... Lesser load... Smoother gameplay...

so...screen resolution affect the gpu ???
I guess it does
Hello ,
yes mate i think it does cause Neo v has ------------ > 480 x 854 pixels, 3.7 inches (~265 ppi pixel density)
I guess Making possible on a Neo V a gaming experience is harder since its screen its larger , i guess the density is also better .
So in other words a gpu wound get a harder time to produce to ur screen a game in a smaller resolution screen...!
