[Q] Fix for Ad-hoc Wifi??? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Devices: Galaxy S 3 (I9300) and Nexus 7
Looking for true fix for ad-hoc Wifi. I see many work arounds for tethering. But so far no true fix. Anyone know where this at - status? This is needed to connect to say the Brookstone Rover 2.0 which makes an ad-hoc wifi - I cannot modify the Rover so I need to modify the Galaxy or Nexus.
Both devices are properly rooted and backed up. Ready to rock if only I had a solution....
Thanks.

tether iPhone to galaxy for internet?

Hi
I am thinking about purchasing a Galaxy tab 10.1. I have a jailbroken iPhone with PDANet on it, I was wondering, if I get the WiFi Galaxy then would I be able to forward the 3G connection from my iPhone to the Galaxy? I can do this with my laptop.
Also what is the honeycomb marketplace like now? Are there a lot of apps?
Thanks
I have both an iPhone 4 and a 10.1 and I have done what you are trying to do but not with pdanet. I use mywi and you can use both Bluetooth tethering as well as the hotspot feature, both will get the job done.
Edit: and sadly not the android market place looks a little shabby to me but that doesn't mean their aren't apps out there n.n

[Q] USB tethering from Phone to Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Honeycomb)

I'm trying to find a way to use my Iphone 4 data plan (3G) on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Wi-Fi Only) through the USB cable/adapter but no luck so far.
I'm currently using the ROM Task Rom 9.0 on the tablet so Ad-Hoc is enable and I've been able to tether to the Iphone through Wi-Fi, however it drains my phone's battery pretty quickly.
I do have the Samsung USB adapter but when the Iphone is connected to the GT it only allows me to copy photos. It doesn't recognize the USB tethering.
Does anyone have any tip or advise???
I guess the same procedure could be applied to any cellphone regardless of the OS.
What app are you using on your iPhone?

Not that I am endorsing you tether your phone without a data plan set up for it.... but I've heard Open Garden works great - so long as your Sensation is rooted.
hey i figure its data i would be using on my phone anyway, just on a bigger screen.

[Q] bluetooth mice problem

Hi,
i have the galaxy tab wifi version p7510 which I bought in Sweden and I was trying to connect several bluetooth mices (apple mice and trust mice) to the tablet but for none so far I saw a curser blinking or got some response from the mice. Has anyone the same problem or is it in general impossible to connect a bluetooth mice to the galaxy tab?
I hope someone can help me with that because I start to get really frustrated.
Cheers,
Matti
PS. I use the Galaxy tas 14 rom at the moment if that helps but I tried it with the task650 and the CM9 kang as well.

[Q] Basic Phone for Wifi tethering

Hey all,
I'm getting myself a tablet instead of a smartphone as in my opinion they are the jack of all trades and the master of none.
So what I'm looking for is a basic phone that has great battery life as well as the ability to tether the internet to my tablet, anyone have any experience that may help?
My Tablet of choice is the Asus Memo pad 10
Thanks,
Fenlig

I've bought to my mom a Galaxy W, but at the same price you can now find the Galaxy Ace 2 (here about 170 Euro). You can then root them, improving the battery life. Wifi tethering works without root, just download a good app from the Play store.
get a galaxy ace...decent cheap phone which supports tethering
Have you considered bluetooth tethering? It's supported by non-smartphones (basic Nokia S40 models and others) meaning your phone battery will last far, far longer if that's your main concern. Android devices can definitely connect through others via bluetooth for tethering, you would just need to test non-smartphone handsets for compatibility.
