Sup guys, my phone is really slow, and a friend told me to clear the cache and the cache of the play store.. how can i do that?
Go to settings>applications>all
Then click on any app.. there u will find a "clear cache" tab.. click on it and you are done..
For your phone to be smooth, keeping rebooting your phone after regular intervals of time, as it clears a lot of unnecessary ram usage..
As far as my experience, on single core processor, more free ram gives more smoothness..
Hope i fulfilled your need.. hit thanks if i did..

Hi all,
I bought my neo v last week and it was brilliant for 4-5 days. But nowadays the phone response very slow. When I come out of any app the icons take time show up. Earlier it happened only when I came out of games like temple run. Now I've uninstalled it. Now even when I came out if messaging or camera, the icons take time to build.
Sometimes during a call incoming, it takes long time to show the contract details.
Should I do something to check if everything is fine with the phone. I really doubt it is the speed of a 1 ghz processor. Also the ram has only around 50 mb free even only music player is running.
I've installed avira, which I suspect could be the reason for this slowdown. Im unable to uninstall either.
Could someone please help me with these for a android new comer? Please let me know if u needed more details to help me out.

Avira could be the cause, is it installed from market?
Find it Play or the phone's manage application screen to uninstall.
If it is still that slow then try a master reset, anyway it is just 4-5 days' thing to lose.
use superchager v6

Thanks. Im thinking of the reset as the final option if nothing else works. Manage applications can't uninstall avira. It says uninstall faulted. Will try thru play and let you know soon.

Thanks pandemic. Should I root the phone root the phone to use that. Also, is this slowing down problem only with me? In that case I could go for replacement or official support..

Also the wifi gets disconnected often. Any solution for this pandemic? Thx for helping out

wifi disconnects may be router's fault too, some funky power saving crap i know my router has setting to kick clients when no activity is on it
Im using go task manager in mobile. Let me see that could be the problem.

Yes I've now uninstalled needless talk and power managers. It's getting better. But still I've only around 75 mb ram free. Most of the used part is occupied by system services and the software installed by se lyk liveware manager and data monitor. Any suggestion to stop them from unless needed? Anything other than rooting the device?

If you want to stop the bloatwares, you really need to root. You can freeze them or uninstall them permanently, just make some back ups. Have you tried resetting it? I mean factory settings reset? You should try it. Dont install battery savers, task killers and antivirus. It may slow down your phone and eats up your battery. Its better to restart your phone daily to free ram and reset it. If you have done everything but it still becomes slow, contact your phone dealer. You just might have yourself a factory defect phone
like what other said, root your phone or better yet, use custom roms. those bloatware is eating your ram thats why your phone is sluggish. as pandemic said use v6 supercharger to handle the memory.
It is a primitive sort of advice but if u don't want to root your phone...then try auto memory manager and set a parameter to autokill background processes...the processes u don't want to be killed can be whitelisted.
And try some kind of startup manager to prevent unwanted apps from launching by their own...but even then some of them would initialize bcoz of other events...that's where auto memory manager comes to play.
But last advice...its really a very good idea to root your phone to gain full control...service centres really don't care if you are rooted or not unless you unlock the bootloader.
Edit: am not sure if startup managers require root or not...it would have been stated in the app description.

Use Elixir2 or system panel lite for every detail of your phone.

My friend have an S2-G and he consult me on why does his phone start to lag and crashing nowadays. He sometimes have to restart the phone to fix it
He is using stock rom 2.3.6,not rooted or anything. Totally stock. I tried looking around and see that his ram is always at 400+ mb rmaining, however, i still noticed that in his app drawer, he got a lot of apps. I can see up to 6-9 pages of app. Is this the reason why the phone is crashing? I really do hope someone can answer this coz im kinda feel sorry for him...
Thanks

More than likely yes, as you may may not know when you uninstall apps they leave bits behind, try wiping dalvik cache, cache etc but no formatting it dangerous(brick ing territory warned) this will clean out the uninstalled apps and auto restore apps on phone.
Whooohooooo 101 yesssss
It's probably of all those apps, and also those apps that run in the background.. 6-9 pages sound insane man.. i wonder if he uses all those apps?

I found thread which contains app (requies root), that will boost our phones.
What do you think abut that? Pacebo effect, or it really works?

This mod would probably reduce RAM performance and I don't really recommend using it.
The problem with Android getting slower over time can't be fixed with a simple solution like this one, the problem lies mainly in the accumulation of dalvik cache and other junk-like files. I recommend just maintaining your phone every day.
I personally have just set titanium backup to wipe some caches every night at 2AM and reboot the phone. You could also include dalvik cache in the wipe. I hope that helps you guys out
+1 to venoma!
I too wipe cache regularly and reboot it once a day! That reduces the lag quite considerably!

absolutely not necessary
dalvik-cache and cache is there to be filled
dalvik-cache needs to be filled with .dex files and there is no point cleaning it unless you have some stability issues with specific app. I'm sure you know that it gets filled on boot(if it was cleaned or if there is new app)
Cache partition doesn't get filled so much that you need to clean it every day.Actually mine is pretty empty..
Once I had 1500h uptime, and no problems with stability or laggness (no more than on cleaned phone). First I though that Android is badly made and that it needs to be restarted every few days and cleaning cache but after these 1500h I don't think any more
So what you get after "cache clean" and restart is (99.9%) placebo effect
Good to know mate, thanks. Someone should make a thread about debunking myths and performance in general.
But i really do think there are some junk files accumulated. Sometimes there are remnants of old .dex files and cache on some ROMs accumulate like crazy. Though those are only my personal observations.
Sd maid does a great job at removing junk files... It's like a ccleaner for Android... Is there a ccleaner for Android???

Hey chaps hows it going ?
Ive been playing Fast 6 on my Nexus 4 and ive screwed up some things on my career.
I want to reset it but problem is i cant seem to can....Uninstalling , deleting data nor deleting Cache seems to reset my career.
Each time i install it again it continues where i left it.
Does this game save some files around or what can i do to restart?
Thanks in advance
I have the same problem ... who knows how to reset the game ?
Create a kabam id in the settings and then logout.
It works for me

Or u can delete the app data. Going into Settings->Apps->Click the App->Delete Data, done.
Don't know if that helps, but i think so.

I had similar issue with one game and it helped
Hello. I have a problem with my phone. For example, when I want to uninstall an app, I click uninstall but it gets stuck at processing, and it stays like this, and the app doesn't get uninstalled.
As an other example, if it explains the problem better, when I enter in an app's page, it doesn't show me how much space it's occupying, it's just keep showing "calculating".
Can I get any help? Thanks.

Yes, I use settings to uninstall, because so I can clear the cache and app data before uninstalling so there won't be leftovers.
Not even the space is a problem, I have only half of the memory occupied, no SD card.
Edit: it's not like "a minute or so", it just stays like that, I left it 10 minutes and nothing changed, it was still "processing".

First. There is an app called Clean Master to wipe out the residual files tat apps leave when uninstalled. It saved me more than 7 gb of space total.
Two. Tat is weird. How much is ur half? Ur half can be 32 gb as there are 64 gb variants. But 10 mins still nth is sth wrong. Try copying out the big files to computer. Like the dcim folder.

Even if I was sceptical that this app might help with my problem, it actually did! It cleaned me 879 MB of cache and residual files of uninstalled apps, and after that I could unistall what I wanted. Thanks a lot, very useful app!
Edit: I've got the 16 GB version.

Yes, but I could uninstall apps only after cleaning that cache and residual files. I don't know why, but I'm happy it is solved without the pain of backing up all the files and wiping + restoring factory settings/reflashing. Thanks again!
