A simple question, but I just can't seem to find the answer. I put the power control widget on my home screen. Now, how do I get back to its menu so I can add/remove functions? I tried throwing it out and then putting it back, but it just comes back up with the same 5 functions. Is there a way to clear the default? Thanks.
I am curious what the answer to that question is as well.
I don't think you can choose what you want in 2.1. (You can do it in 2.2)They just come in a set.
Correct me if I was wrong.
I went back and checked out my rooted MYT3G, I think you are right. Unless someone has figured out how to put the 2.2 power widget into a 2.1 rom. I think that would be pretty awesome. I miss that functionality on my Vibrant.
I think Power Widget is "Settings.apk" So try installing that. I know that GenieWidget and GoogleVoice work fine....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731625
download from the thread or try getting the apk from CM6 ADDON (thats what i did)
Sweet, going to check that out now.

trying what ? to install settings.apk ?
^ dropping it in system/app caused constant reboots.
I had to boot into stock recovery, then go into clockwork and finally restore a nandroid.
I would be careful using the linked post above. I have already replaced some stock apps from cyanogen, this is the first that gave me any issue.

U always have to be carefull
I havent tried settings.apk, but I would just install it using file manager. Thats how I got clock, geniewidget, and google voice working. Used files from cm.
^ The power widget is a system app, you don't install, you just drop it in system/app. The News/Weather and Google Voice are just apps...
I renamed the original Settings.apk and Settings.odex and then dropped the new Settings.apk from a Cyanogen rom in to /system/app/.
No go, I ended up having to restore the original files back.
Oh well, I tried.
there's a power widget in the market (non-free) that has the same look as the standard power widget, but has more options and lets you customize it. i haven't used it, but it sounds like it would work for ya.
i just looked it up -- it's called 'Power Widget by BK Mobility'.
Thanks, I actually found that app this morning after I made the post here. Am liking it. It works very well.
This mod is specifically for DL09. If you are on DJ05, you can find a similar mod here.
Most themes already have reboot options added, but if you're like me you prefer the stock theme. Because there have been no releases of the reboot options mod since DL09, I took the time today and added it to the DL09 framework (specifically the android.policy.jar, framework.jar, and framework-res.apk). Once it was added, I realized very quickly that there was a problem--it only worked with the stock glass/puzzle lock. This is because stupid me used a stock deodoxed android.policy.jar and not Adrynalyne's modified one from Supah Clean. So, I pulled the policy from Adrynalyne's ROM, edited it to work with the reboot options, and repackaged it with my prior edits to the framework.jar and framework-res.apk. End result: it worked!
Precaution
You must be deodexed for this mod to work! Don't even try to flash this on stock. If you don't know if you are deodexed, use a file manager and go to system>app and see if you see any .odex files. If you do, you're not deodexed. If you don't, you're deodexed.
Credits
(1) Untermensch - the original creator of the mod for the Vibrant. It was his guide I used to do this.
(2) Adrynalyne - as mentioned above, I used his android.policy.jar from Superclean as a base.
For those who are not familiar, I have attached a picture below to show you what the reboot options look like. Basically, they give you the ability to reboot, reboot recovery, and reboot download mode. Again, these can be found in just about every theme. Their purpose here is to give you the option to apply them to a stock theme.
Below are the zips to apply the mod. Simply flash via CWM and enjoy!
EDIT 1: I pulled the original zips because weird **** was happening when flashed over a theme. I realized later that all I needed to do was add the stock twframework-res.apk to update script to fix the problem. You now should be able to flash this over any theme you have already applied.
EDIT 2: Added accurate (circle) battery. I pulled images from one of the themes .... can't remember which.
Can somebody mirror this or, Ben, can you place a dif link? Totally would love the aosp with reboot options but I.get a dropbox error....something about files are safe but...( i.can't remember the rest). Thanx in advance

Use Root Explorer and go to Data>Local. Create a file (not folder) named enable_glass_lock. You can also simply flash the zip again (just don't wipe data after doing so). There is no need to wipe data before or after applying this mod.
So I can just flash this over my stock dl09 with otb voodoo 1.3ghz kernel and I get that sicc battery and reboot options and nothing else changes?

Well I ddnt wait long enough for you to reply haha I gave it a go not because of the reboot options but more for the battery circle. So I installed the puzzle lock option on my stock dl09 non deodexed stock rom runing otb voodoo oc 1.3ghs stock voltage and I selected to backup to be on the safe side. It backed up everthing then abortd installation so it said!!! After installation said aborted it sat at the backup screen so I held down all three buttons cause I hate raking my battery covr off. Ebooted phone. Flawless everything works perfect with that cool battery circle but I do not have the reboot options. Don't mind though just wanted my battery percentage in the status bar. So just to let everyone know at least you get half the mod haha. I'm happy. I am not deodexed cause I've done so much to this phone and just don't wanna start over. If someone know how to get me deodexed without starting over id appreciate it. If I'm saying something wrong forgive me as I'm not an expert in this. I mainly mess with my viewsonic g tab. I would alo like to just get my status bar black in color. But don't care to change anything else. But would deal with minor changes just don't wanna lose stuff and have to start over.
Thanks a lot

You could try xeudoxus on droid forums xUltimate, it's really easy to use and it just adb pulls files from your phone, deodexes them then you adb push them back. dont worry there are instructions on how to if you need the help, he also has an xUltimate that helps you edit hex codes for color changes on your apk and jar files, again instructions are available. here is the link with the info, and if you get stuck during the process there are read me files and a link supplied in the files to his site. Happy Modding

CleverNameHere Rom Release 1
This rom is discontinued as I have moved on to the Nexus 7. God Bless, everyone!
This ROM is based off of the Evo View 4G's 2nd OTA (security update) and was created with DSIXDA's rom kitchen. Special thanks to pardonmyfreedom for figuring out the view's mount points.
Features
Rooted
Busybox
Deodexed
Zipaligned on boot
Ad Free Hosts file added
Bash shell & nano installed along with sysro/sysrw scripts
Added custom boot animation (found about 4th hand, will give credit when I can find original owner) and switched the shutdown animation to the stock HTC one
Hardware Accelerated UI
Dalvik heap increased
Filesystem Tweaks
SD card speed tweak
Juwe11's ram optimization script
New Market
Removed most of the bloatware (including teeter, which i'd forgotten before), and left blockbuster, qik, polaris office and sprint nav in data/app so that it can be easily removed if you prefer to do so
Disabled HTC update checking
baked in facebook, google+, es file explorer, Titanium Backup & Mybackup Root, Onlive Viewer, Dolphin Browser HD
Skype for chat included, along with enabling bluetooth headsets
Features in optional theming zip (coming soon, need to rebase off of OTA2)
Crysis Battery Mod
running test icon set
Changed off green (HTC Color) into actually green on loading circle and download bar
Green Overscroll
Please help me test this rom for a couple of days while I'm continuing to add features as well as offer suggestions for improvements. I already have a few in mind as well, just need to continue working through them. I'm also looking for anyone who has theming experience since I'm an IT guy and not a graphics designer ;-)

Pre-Installation Instructions
Make sure your HTC Evo View 4G is S-off and has a recovery installed, the best way to do that is to follow this guide by Globatron. You also need to have an SD Card in your view in order to be able to flash things through Clockwork Mod.
Installation Instructions
The betas of this ROM will wipe data, so I recommend backing up important information in MyBackup Root and Titanium Backup. The Full Releases (RLS 1, RLS 2, etc.) and Release Candidates (RC1, Etc.) will not wipe data, but if you're coming from stock or just want to make sure your devices is clean, do a factory reset from within clockworkmod recovery between steps 3 and 4 of the guide below.
Copy the Rom .zip file to the base of your SD Card, not the internal storage of your View
Boot into your tablet's bootloader by holding volume down & power while unit is powered off
select recovery by using the volume arrows and hit power to select
you should now be looking at a black screen with blue text, if not make sure you followed the S-off guide. using the volume keys to navigate and power button to select, select install zip from sd card using power
select choose zip from sdcard
select the clevernamehere .zip file on your sdcard
navigate down to the option that says 'Yes - Install clevernamehere*.zip' where * is the name of the version of the rom (eg. beta1)
Rom will now install and run it's course. The script will be more verbose then it is now by the final version
select the +++++Go Back+++++ option
now select reboot system now and the view will reboot. this will take a while, just like it did when you took it out of the box.
Rom is now installed and working! let me know if you find any bugs or have feature requests.
Removing all user data before installing a new rom (Factory Data Reset)
Boot into your tablet's bootloader by holding volume down & power while unit is powered off
select recovery by using the volume arrows and hit power to select
you should now be looking at a black screen with blue text, if not make sure you followed the S-off guide. using the volume keys to navigate and power button to select, select wipe data/factory reset.
navigate down to the option that says 'Yes -- delete all user data' and select it. This will wipe ALL of your data and the data will be unrecoverable after this unless you have backed it up using Titanium Backup and Mybackup Root.
device will now wipe itself and take you back to the main clockworkmod menu. continue on from step 4 of the above guide to flash the rom if you already have the .zip on your device.
Uninstallation Instructions (going back to stock)
Download the shipped rom RUU from here. This was posted by Football on the Flyer Shipped ROMs list here
with your tablet powered on, plugged into your computer via USB, run the RUU. It will take over after you confirm you want to 'update' and format you back to almost completely stock (I was still s-off but I had lost root of course)
go ahead and update your tablet back to the latest OTA (the first OTA) using software update on your tablet.
now go to this thread by attn1 about getting clockworkmod back as well as root. don't forget the view is named the express and DO NOT download anything from this link that has flyer in the name
you are now ready to flash another rom or reflash mine
im giving this a try ill report back....
Thanks! Let me know what you think. I have a few ideas for speed improvements and I will for sure have a more descriptive flashing script

Removing sense is always a large undertaking. I'll tackle that at a later time, so sense for now. Beta 2 is going to remove as much as possible and put it into a zip for the few users who might actually want it. I'll look into having 4g autostart as an option. Thanks for the name suggestion.

Beta 2 is now uploaded. I have been working on theming and it is quite a bit harder on sense based roms than it is on touchwiz. I'll also upload the removed apks as a zip file tomorrow.
Since there are currently only 2 roms specific to the View I thought I would give yours a try as well as the XPRS rom. I really dig that boot screen. So far everything seems to be smooth without any issues. I am running it with the ADW Ex launcher and all of my primary apps work well including netflix..

Aye c-dude any chance of a change log for those of us wondering? Thanks for the ROM. We need more View chefs and your contribution is DEFINETLY appreciated!!!
Why the hate for stock?
Do you have a completely stock updated rooted ver? What base are you using?
Edit: This was not meant to as disrespect to you. Thanks for all the hard work. The talented devs are the only reason we have this community today.
ContraDude thanks for all the hard work on this rom as its really the only rom we have on the view that is currently being worked on, once they have the kernel source released I know some devs who are willing to make some kernels for our tab. However, one request that I have which you may be able to figure out, as I could not, is how to get the android market to install apps it says arent compatible. I originally thought that changing the fingerprint would fix the issue however I have changed the fingerprint to several different devices and currently have the fingerprint showing the tab as an EVO 3d to the android market. Unfortunately this still doesnt get apps like facebook, go sms, or other apps to show up. I have attached a screenshot that shows my tab showing up as an evo3d. Also I believe that it may have something to do with other lines in the build.prop that show that the device is not a phone, not sure where those are. However I did completely take out an reference of the model number, product, and brand to mirror those from the build.prop of my evo 3d, so I changed more than just the fingerprint and it still doesn't work.

No one is willing to do their own dirty work anymore. What happened to if you don't want it uninstall it now that you have root. Do you have a completely stock rooted updated ver? I cannot find a 2.3.4 stock rooted rom for my wife's view.I saw you removed teeter which my kids love, kept in blockbuster, polaris, and telenav(no good without premium gps fee) which I don't use. I cannot take any Ota's without causing problems so I am still 2.3.3. But every rom maker out there is all about remove this and remove that. I for one have no problem removing stuff I don't use, and on the other hand do use some of the bloat apps everyone is so "remove happy" over. Sorry for the rant but it used to be the user removed what they didn't want. I thought that is what root was for. Thanks for your time.

Thanks for being a sterling example of everything that's wrong with XDA. You complain that people don't do their own work, then complain when you have to do your own work?
If you wanted a rooted stock rom, why are your looking at custom rom's? Run the s-off tool then flash the zip that gives you root. At that point you have a rooted stock rom.

Thanks for being an example of the majority of XDA users, quick to flame and not help. Yes the rant could have been left out but that was my opinion on removing apps. No one can say what the next guy will or will not use, just pointing out somewhere it was agreed that stock apps were bad. I learned with the 3d that some bloat apps are system and will not install correctly with the normal installation of apk's(reader being one of them). I can put these back into system myself as I have done it many times already. No disrespect was aimed at anybody but it seems you are ready to fire back at a moments notice.

Custom roms can still be custom without removing stuff. It's the added tweaks that make them custom. And I am currently Stock rooted.

If your talking about the mms.apk,
I use root explorer to navigate to the system/app folder and find the OE mms.apk and rename it to mms.apk.bak to disable it. The icon will disappear from the home screen start bar and app drawer.
I then place the new mms.apk in system/app folder and make sure its permissions are all checked off.
Then go to my app drawer and see if its there and will run. If it does I drage the icon back onto my home bar.
Some devices are finicky. Some require a reboot after a renaming then move it in there. Some require a reboot after every move. Its according to the apk and the device.

Any clean instructions on how to install this?
Does this have blurry MMS?
Id like to first say thanks to Rangerbry, for his port of this for the Photon. This is his work, all I did was swap out some images,to suit my taste on my device, and wanted to share them.I use this with a stock rooted 198_7 build. If you're running an odexed build, you'll have to change the file extension of the SystemUI.odex file ,from .odex to .abk for it to take.I also swapped out the stock data icons for those from the DX,as those look a whole lot better in MHO.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25537380/Blur_Plus2.0.zip
Kenneths base, the aosp sliders were a morph i picked up from droidpirate,LiGux battery, signal, and data icons. The notification toggles are from and themed like n the ones in Liberty rom.The only problems, are the gps icon is distorted when its acquiring, and the "notification" bar is still ginger blue. This BlurPlus zip, undoes the Alien theme. For anyone wondering, these are based on 198_7 stock, rooted and unlocked.
The Blur Plus zip is a little combo including the first set of toggles.I replaced the saw blade spinners with GB ones colored accordingly, used ICS emotion icons, changed the default wallpaper.
I tried to flash liberty with bootstrap on jokers 4g ROM and ot didnt take. The file flashed just fine, no errors or anything, the toggles just dont show. Just an FYI to others who may try.
use root explorer and rename the SystemUI.odex to SystemUI.abk, and reboot. itll take.

First three work great on Stock 198_6. (Using the bootstrap CWM and then renaming the systemui.odex to .bak and rebooting, wiping dalvik).
However, the fourth package (Blur Plus) does not seem to work on stock rooted, locked 198_6. Luckiy I nandroid backed up prior to flashing as it caused numerous FC's on just about any auto launch program. Background was nice, but did not work. For anyone wondering.......
Funny enough, thats what led to me unlocking my bootloader, but i didnt have a backup so i had to sbf first.Idk why it would FC.Im on 198_7,and theres no difference between the two that I can see other than the known compatibility issue with some market apps.Did you flash any other theme components with it?If I use RomToolbox to change my battery or signal icons, sometimes itll do the same thing that youre describing, and then ill have to restore a backup.

I ended up just using the Liberty package. After the first meltdown with the plus package, I started looking at file sizes of your packages and noticed that the plus package was 5x larger than any other you offer. So that rung a bell to me that much more is being done with that one. As my ultimate goal was just to get the notification toggles, I went with a smaller one.
As I am on a stock rooted, Locked bootloader with bootstrap recovery, I want to be as minimal as possible. I read a couple other threads with similar toggles and was seeing confirmations that people were getting these to work on 198_6, locked. So I gave it another shot after restoring my nandroid from bootstrap. Second go round with a smaller package was successful (Also wiping Dalvik after flashing). I did have to manually rename the Systemui from odex to bak and reboot. Once rebooted, I had the ICS themed toggles and a nice pretty new 3G icon on my notification bar.
Outside of that, it has been smooth. No FC's or issues after flashing the smaller package.
I would have to assume the issues you are having with romtool box are linked to ROMS either being odex or deodex'd. If its a stock rom, you will more than likely have issues trying to theme things as the structure for which it works normally relies on deodex'd packages. Stock is normally odex. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
Yeah, the reason for the size difference, is because i havent exactly gotten in the habit of making an update zip with just the images.everything i uploaded are the complete systemUIs that i made and flashed on my phone.i use root explorer for all the grunt work and just keep extracted copies of all of my system ui and framework-res im separate folder for easy modifying. Then i zip it up with root explorer and sign it with zip zigner. With RomToolbox,it usually happens if i try to install one theme over another.i just use icon changer part as an icon repository. Download them, then move them around on my sd card.

Any chance of getting "moto on blur" to work on stock (ODEXed) locked, rooted Electrify?
This mod works great however it hides the calculator signs: + - * etc. As a short term fix ive downloaded real calc but does anyone know how to fix the problem?
Rangerbry told me what I had to do,but I havent had a chance to mess with it.Still learning as I go.
