Hello everybody,
I have several questions before installing this rom and i want to install it because i read that it is one of the fastest ics rom. This will be my third time flashing a custom rom and i think i'm still not that used to doing it.
Anyway, i guess I'll start by posting my current device status:
Phone model: xperia neo v mt11i
BL: unlocked
Rooted: yes
Current custom rom: Ultimate HD by Jader
Current kernel: Alliance 1.5 full
Baseband version: 77
Here comes my Questions:
1. in the thread for the ice cream pureness, there is a question in the faqs section that asks for what baseband should be used and the answer there was 72 but i saw a screen shot of the rom running on 77 baseband so what really should be used for the rom?
2. do i really need to Flash 4.1.B.0.587 ftf using flashtool given my current device status?
3. i am planning to upgrade my sd card into a 16gb one but my problem is that i don't want to bring along other files i don't know what they are for but i'm sure they come with the android system to my new sd card. i just want my music, video, documents, and photos moved. so my question is, can i just move the files i want to the new one, put the zip file for the rom, flash it then BAM!, new rom plus fresh sd card with only my files and the files for the android system and the rom?
4. What kernel do you recommend for this rom??
thanks for the answers i may get :good:
Pureness can run on baseband 77 as well as 72. U dont need to flash .587 ftf. Just follow the instructions in op of pureness. The files ur talking about are generated by android system and when u insert the newsd it will generate automatically. And kernels recommended are suave, alliance. I use suave kernel.

so basically i just have to flash kernel, full wipe, flash rom, then install patch? how do i install patch? flash it from cwm?
Steps
Factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Wipe dalvik cache
Format system
Format data
Format catche
Install main rom pureness
Install patch
Reboot
As u said above ur on alliance kernel so no need to change kernel. It works smooth on alliance as well as suave

here again
so now i have installed ice cream pureness build 14 with the service pack... and once again i'm confused..
1. in build 14 (without the service pack) i have my terminal emulator in the menu. but in the sp1 i can't see it anywhere but when i try to install it via play store it says there uninstall or open meaning i have it installed? what gives?
2. do i manually add every app i need coz this service pack seems to not have anything included in it, including music player etc?
Service pack has small apps and lockscreen mod, terminal emulator is for adreline boost. When low on memory or ram you can type "su" in terminal emulator and grant superuser access and then type "boost" nd wait till its finished it will boost ur phone. Nd didnt u take a backup of ur contacts sms and apps before flashing rom? Nd if u cant find terminal emulator uninstall frm playstore nd reinstall it it will appear in ur app drawer. Its not for restoring apps.

Minecraft all works except touchpads
Just awake, this rom is based on ics beta, so the game compatibility is just like ics beta.
As to me, I played modern combat 3 with touchpad full working.
So I think it is game related, not the rom itself.
I also try to test shadowgun, but sadly it jumps out when loading games.
Asphalt 6 also works, but some graphics in game is broken, such as the nitro emitting.

For me the minimized system is fast enough.
But many system apps don't work on this 4.0.3, so I think next version won't based on this more.

Battery life and Quick Search Bar in Neo V
Hi,
I have 2 issues with this ROM in Neo V. I have OTA'ed to 2.0.1 release, unlocked BL and Night-elf V1.5 Kernel over BB 587
1) Battery consumption on Android OS seems to be worse
2) The Quick Search Bar widget to search google (inclduding voice search) does not function - nothing can be typed or recorded there.
Is Jader going to fix this in next 2.1 release?
Other than that everything else seems smooth

Since you have unlocked boatloader flash a custom kernel with fastboot... You will get access to recovery... Through that you can install roms... Or you can flash stock firmware through flashtool...

While connecting your phone to your pc keep the menu key on your device pressed. That will enable you to connect it in fastboot mode. After that you can flash a custom kernel with cwm through flashtool.

Hit thanks if i helped.
Btw which rom do you want gb/ics/jb. I am listing some of my personal favourites you will find them easily in the neo v development section. The steps to installation are also there in the respective roms, if you still have some problem you can first try to find the solution by reading the thread or else post your question on respective threads or pm me. Happy to help. The roms i like are
1. SJB 4.1.2
2. Mike's LegacyXperia rom CM10.1/10.2
3. DarkDefenders's rom based on LegacyXperia 4.2.2 ( Currently discontinued)
4. Ultimate HD rom (ICS)
5. Xperia Slim (GB)
These many would be enough to confuse you.

Yes install fusion 5.4 kernel it has cwm in it.
For cm10.1 use the kernel inside zip.
Look into the sticky threads you'll find how to unlock your bootloader. Do it via the official sony site. For more details on any of the roms visit respective threads.

i unlocked my bootloader and rooted, now for flashing of kernels and roms the options look like this
1. copy super jelly bean and gapps to sd card
2. flash any jb kernel for neov via fastboot.. i recommend fusion kernel 5.4 (present inside the zip file )
3.[OPTIONAL] flash stock ics .587 ftf excluding kernel and simlock.ta files..
4. boot into recovery
5.full wipes
ie :
wipe data / factory reset
wipe cache partition
wipe dalvik cache
in mounts and storage , wipe system , data and cache
6. flash Super Jelly Bean
8. only for neo (mt15i) users flash patch
7.flash gapps : use this link : Gapps For SJB
8.reboot
9.enjoy
I CANT GET THE 3RD POINT!! where can i get ics.587 ftf file??
Skip that point. Won't cause any trouble. Even if you want to, search for it in the development section. There is a thread which has all the stock firmwares. Download it from there. Turn off your phone. Move the downloaded ftf file to firmware folder in flashtool folder on your pc. Open flashtool, click on the flash/bolt icon/button. You will get two options choose flash mode. Select the ftf file and follow on screen instructions. While flashing the stock ftf uncheck the kernel and simlock files. Once the progress bar reaches 100% go ahead with other steps.
This must be looking so confusing so u can skip this.

It basically wipes the whole ROM & writes the stock system files in the ROM again. It's just like installing a fresh OS on your phone.
Cheers!
