I Know now that how to enable move app to sd card on my rooted galaxy s3
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium

You can swap internal and external sds or you can try an app called directory bind.
Any large games you can use directory bind to move to sdcard.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium

you cant move app to sd like other phones on s 3.
Check the link on how to use directory binding

I was using it fine until I moved to cm10.1
Seriously it does what it says. Go to preference, set your internal as data, internal as target (both with "/"s at the end)
Add new entry, press menu, click the assistant, navigate to "inside" the folder you wish to bind and select.
Then check the box and add entry. Should take a while moving the files. Then you check the disk button and you're there.
Try rebooting and check the bind sticks. Otherwise check alternative data mgnt option in preference.

Yes you can do that if you use dolphins hd browser. This is what you need to do.
Open the dolphin hd browser.
Then hit menu button and select more-settings -data storage settings-Download directory.
Then type: /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/folderName.
I have tested this and it works.
Edit: the same can be done on stock browser by selecting the default storage from phone to sdcard. It'll automatically create the download folder.

The data is located here:
/sdcard/.SamsungMediaHub/files
Not sure if you can have them saved on the external SD card. I downloaded and watched a few shows using the credit they gave us and then deleted the program.

Internal SD card problems won't be picked up!

OK so basically I went from gingebread to jellybean by going to ICS in between. Whilst on ICS I noticed that the internal SD card wouldn't mount and in recovery it showed all of the file folders that there should have been but nothing in them. Now I'm on jellybean its the same. Is there any way to get it back to normal without going to stock?

check in file explorers for EMMC that will be your ext sd, if it shows up that way, look for an app on xda called RemountSD that will make your ext sd be shown as ext sd instead of emmc

OK what's happened is that the two files that I put on the external SD card are in download and nothing is in the external SD card file. I just need my internals back.

Update: I can't take a screenshot of notifications but that other screenshot I took, in notifications under the screenshot it says SD card is currently in use and shows a USB symbol although my phone is charging from a wall socket.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Try...from that screen press favourites, hopefully your get this (screenshot)
then press the phone icon and hopefully your get (2nd screenshot)
from there hopefully your find all your stored ext sd files in the emmc folder. If that is the case the i would recommend finding the RemountSD apk on xda, it saves alot of confusion finding your files
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
I just get this.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
from there press the phone icon and you should get my 2nd screenshot appear (root folders etc) the emmc folder should be in there aswell
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
This is what I get. There was 2 lines more but thy were nothing.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Only thing i can suggest is if its nothing is in your extSD folder in that area then as a long shot, try fi ding and using the RemountSD app, do a search on the xda forum, it should be easy to find, once its installed tell it to remount and hopefully that will solve your problem and everything will be found on ext sd
this is the link to the app, hope that helps

No probs, hopefully someone will be able to help out more, i've not used any JB roms yet, if your looking for something custom but close to ICS the neutrino rom is quite good, comes with the remountsd aswell, i've not had any probs so far over the last month or 2 using it

Can you access it from recovery, mounts and storage and back them up to a pc. Not practical but at least you might salvage your pics.
Also I used ICS SD binder with no problems, you have to change the file path from emmc to extSdCard though otherwise it won't find it.

Apparently all it needed was a factory reset/wipe data.

You could always try Link2SD. It's an app that let's you move any app to a secondary partition on your SD card. I used it on a previous phone that had very limited internal storage. It helped a lot.
Sent from my Evo V 4G using xda app-developers app
Also Titanium backup and similar apps will allow you to move apps to the sdcard (most apps need root).

Are you receiving some kind of error message? Could you explain your problem a little more so that we can help you?
Here are a few guides I found for Setting Up Link2SD on your phone's SD card. Here's another one.
I think the problem is the samsung phone. Same happens on the s3, where "sdcard" is actually an emulated location, part of the internal memory, just a label.
So, apps installed on internal are detected by normal means as already installed in sdcard. These phones usually label the removable sd card as extsdcard.
Nothing to do for the moment, apps like directory bind helped creating links (just as link2sd does) between external and internal sdcard.
Yes. It gives me a message about "shell".

Storage Full??

So when I go into storage it said I have 9gb of "other" ?? Anyone have an idea what it can be? I've looked everywhere through my phone to find these mysterious files.

Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Try file manager in root mode and check for your old files and ROM backups in /data/media folder.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
OK just to be sure here. I'm on a 4.2 rom as well and I have a about 9 gigs taken up. I turned es file Explorer on root mode and unhid the hidden files. I looked and there was a data/media folder with about 9 gigs in it. Should I delete this and I will be fine?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
That's all your personal data. Don't delete the whole thing but look for the large directories under there.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Well I looked through there and it seems to be almost a copy of my SD card folder. I looked through all the files and there is 5 files with the exact same contents. They are all identical to the SD card folder and they are taking up the same amount of space . the files are SD card, inside the data/media and 0 inside the same folder. Inside the storage folder there is both sdcard0 and legacy. All these have the same contents.
What's up with this?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Your old home folder is /data/media the new one is the 0 folder. You can delete most of the duplicates from media, and can move anything into 0 that you want to keep.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
When you upgrade from a 4.1.1 rom to a 4.2.2 rom or 4.3 rom your storage changes from sdcard0 to something else so you will find a lot of duplicates that can be deleted. Just for future reference.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you check the size of the /data it will probably explain the missing space. Just backup your important info to the pc and do an internal wipe

Thanks, but would you mind giving me some specifics on what directories/file systems to format? The space usage for me doesn't appear to be in /data/media like many others have posted so part of my problem is that I'm not sure where to look.

I assume that restoring a backup might introduce problems so probably better to stay away from that??

That screenshot is useless, depending on if you are using android 4.1.x or android 4.2.x
4.2.x introduces a new filesystem and starts using a new directory /data/media/0
all of your old data is still in /data/media and your phone is looking at /data/media/0 for sdcard space
it calculates total space by how big /data media is and its contents are under /0 (the 0 is the user that is on the device, /1 would be a second user account, however user accounts are disabled on phones)
