Has anyone else experienced this? I have upgraded to RUU_HERMES_HTC_WWE_1[1].35.255.2_1.35.255.102_1.08.00.10_SHIP.EXE ROM. I use Vodafone in the Netherlands and today I noticed that the phone drops the connection during the call. This has happened 3 times now. Has anyone else experienced this problem with this ROM? Any solutions?
I am having the same problem...but with the ROM my 8525 (HERM100) shipped with...another "feature" is that when dialing a number, it will ring once and then disconnect!

Hope to find some relief soon!

Okay guys, this is driving me insane. I've called up Vodafone the past 4 days in a row, and they have been unable to help me.
This is my issue. Me and a friend will be texting each other. Randomly, I don't get a message that she has sent me. At all. She says that the message has gone through, and Vodafone confirm that, but the message is never received on my end. Problem is, I don't know when this has happened as it is completely random. To me, it looks like the other person just didn't reply.
Using a Galaxy S II GT i9100 from Optus, unlocked and unbranded running Cognition 1.42 XXKG6 Baseband. Custom MMS.apk to allow unlimited texts. I've also always got "Power Save" mode on. Fast Dormancy is turned off.
Very similar issue to http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1502566
However, putting my SIM into another phone does not flood my phone with the unreceived messages. It's not the person on the other end because everyone else but me is having the issue.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
So far the troubleshooting steps I've taken are:
-Turn phone on and off
-SIM card in and out
-Stock ROM\Baseband\Everything
-Earlier and newer basebands
-Official Optus Firmware
-The tech on Vodafones end "reset" some network settings he told me
-Unbarring all calls\texts\everything.
-Some more, but I've forgotten.
-Tried stock Vodafone GT i9100T Firmware
(I'll edit in anything I've missed)
First person to give me a WORKING solution, also gets $10 via PayPal as a tip too! You deserve my money more then Vodafone does!

HELP? D:
Hi Just wondering if anyone else has been having this issue.
Phone was working absolutly fine untill the portico update popped up (uk ee). update completed fine and phone restarted.
But since then i have been losing my signal totally, mostly when the phone goes into standby.
The only way to get it back was to restart the phone. I then phoned nokia support who asked me to do a hard reset. My phone then got stuck on the spinning cogs. after a few attempts of trying to soft reset i managed to get the phone to work but still same issue.
so then i phoned ee shop who said they would try flashing latest firmware and if that fails then they will send it away to service centre or replace.
so i decided i'd try flash it myself first using navifirm. Which i did using latest firmware. but still no luck.
so then finally before i take it to store i thought i'd try downgrade firmware and guess what...so far (fingers crossed) still got signal.
dont know if its just my phone but its ceratinly not happy with either the portico update or one of the other updates nokia bundled with it.
just thought i'd share my findings incase anyone else was having this issue.
edit: have just tried flashing a cv gb 1004 portico firmware as i didnt want to miss out on the new features and touchwood all seems to be well so far and no signal drops.
Hey
Yeah same here, upgraded last night all went fine, but today the signal has been up and down like a yoyo, also the battery is almost out !!! normally I would still have 50% left at this time of day, I just checked and I have 22% not great at all.
maybe the upgrade altered some settings ?
I will keep an eye on this for a day or so I think......
Having the exact same problems updated last night. How do I go about flashing back
Same here with my unlocked 920 since the Portico update, so it's not just the EE network. Mind you being as I always get a choppy signal at points maybe I shouldn't be so quick to judge.
FIX
Hi guys I have a fix for this issue, drop the highest connection speed down in your settings from 4G to 3G
Problem solved

im using the gb.cv.1004 rom now and i believe though this has the portico update it does not have the same issues. i can not see an option for 4g in the network settings so this maybe why.
though ill wait untill others confirm this fix before i flash back to ee.1017 rom.

richard i used this guide:

Signal issues (ee) since portico update Lumia 920
Thanks to Maggot82. Received portico update, signal then dropping in and out all over the place. Went into settings/network, changed the defaulted option from 4G as the highest connection speed to 3G and now 5 bars of signal and constant.
Worked for me and certainly a less hassle route to try first before thinking to flash different updates to your phone.
Good job, ta.

I had already done this but this issue seems to have resolved itself anyway.
no trouble guys, your welcome.
My 920 came preinstalled with Portico and I had no problems the first week or so. Since last week I have had two occasions where the phone has either restarted or just reinitialized the radio because it asked for the SIM-pin when I took it out of my pocket. And the days after that I noticed a few occasions where the signal was lost altogether for a minute or so.
My phone was set to 3G max speed from the start.
So, are there some radio-related issues with the Portico ROM? And is it Nokia's firmware or Microsoft's WP8 code?

i think there are some issues with the certain portico firmware. i have reflashed to ee uk 1017 and changed the setting from max 4g to max 3g and that resolved the signal dropping issue (thanks maggot).
however i have noticed that the signal is not as good as the gb.cv.1004 rom. so i dont think its a portico issue, more so that it may be the carrier related firmware updates that are causing issues.
not sure if the update was a full update
My OS version number and Firmware number has not changed since portico! the OS version number that I have is 8.0.9903.10 and the Firmware Revision # is 1232.2110.1244.3011. I know for fact that the Portico's FW version is meant to be 1232.5951.1249.0001 or higher, depending on region/network etc.
My phone has your symptoms, i.e calls drop out and very poor reception at times, plus, heating up massively and subsequently maximum 5-6 hours of battery life!
I have given numerious feedbacks to Nokia, but I guess I have to just go down the route of taking it to them to fix/change! mine was originally from Phones4U in UK (Sim free, which I found out that was locked to EE!), £35 to unlock and now on TescoMobile.
Could you please state your OS and Firmware versions, so we know that we are talking about the same release?

I am from india and i am not able to call into any toll free numbers from my lumia 920 which i bought from abudhabi. Is anyone experiencing the same or is it just me? Is it because i bought it from outside india. I tried from my other mobile numbers and the toll free numbers is all working well and call goes smoothly from same carrier BSNL when tried from my other mobile phones( android & old Nokia N82). I think some settings is messed up or some problems as i bought from outside India. Can someone help me how to solve this problem also does anyone else experiencing the same?
Thanks,
Jithin.
try to find other lumia 920 in india and try to make a toll call to see if it's an issue with your phone or it's a general issue among the lumia 920 devices
Hi all,
Like many others I had issues after the 4.3 rollout last week - lag on unlock, Bluetooth, general lag. But I noticed something else as well that I cant find an answer to. Prior to the 4.3 upgrade the phone displayed "EE" for the carrier as I was previously an Orange customer. But after the reboot the carrier information is showing as "T-MOBILE [email protected]@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@". The phone and data was functioning fine it was only the carrier name that seemed to be the issue (disregarding the other issues that came with 4.3). I went into the manual settings and searched for the available networks and could see Orange, T-Mobile, O2 etc but no EE. If I select Orange it still shows as T-MOBILE [email protected]@@@@@@ but when connected to my in-car Bluetooth it shows as Orange.
Screenshot attached.
I decided the best way to get rid of the lag problems and try and correct the carrier issue was to flash CM10.2 . Flash went fine and I held my breath as it rebooted......but no the carrier is still displayed as "T-MOBILE [email protected]@@@@@@@@@@".
I called Orange yesterday and they said from their end everything looked ok but they did send me a SIM update in hope that it would be corrected....but that didn't work either.
So now I'm at a loss with it - as I said phone functions fine and data is fine - but just an annoyance. Must stress it was like this before CM10.2 was applied and the phone was fully stock before I flashed it.
Any help appreciated.
Also - loving CM10.2 - quick, good battery life, nice features.
HI All,
nearly a week now and no sign of EE resolving the issue - is anyone seeing this issue since 4.3 upgrade - or am I just particularly unlucky ??

Reading that as a faulty update .
CSC may have changed your network name but above is not in any CSC i have ever seen .
