[Q] MINI PRO how to install cwm recovery? - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi everyone, I've searched over the forum but did not find any thread... Can any one explain how to flash cwm recovery into a SK17i xperia mini pro?
I've downloaded ROM MANAGER from store but it says "unsupported device" or something like that when I click on "flash cwm". Should I keep trying with rom manager even if it says that? I think maybe it is not safe...
What is the better way to flash cwm? Actually, I dont know anyothers ways...
Thanks for the answers and sorry for my english.
Edit: what about x-parts app? I think it can flash cwm too, but it says something like "if you delete system partition cwm will dissappear". I really dont know what it means, maybe is a standard warning message, but I'm a total noob.
The reason why I want cmw recovery is to make a backup of my current rom (stock .62) in order to be able to change roms and make experiments without risk.

You can install recovery from x-parts since it supports our phone but rom manager doesn't support....and the other thing means that if u wipe /system partition....ur recovery will be gone but if u install a rom which has recovery in the /system partition then cwm won't be lost...and don't worry, it's completely safe to install cwm via x-parts...

Problem with CWM Recovery 5.0.2.7 installed by X-Parts...

Well, I have a SE Xperia Mini ST-15. I've just downloaded X-Parts app and installed CWM Recovery 5.0.2.7 (My phone is in GB 2.3.3)
I have some problems with SD partition softwares in my PC, so I tried to partition my SD using CWM, but then I realized that this CWM version doesn't have that option in the "advanced" menu.
And my question is... Do I have to unlock my bootloader and install the original CWM to get access to that option? Or why isn't that option there?
(Just a noob looking for help and knowledge, thank you )
Sorry, can't really answer you, but also have a X10 mini pro with installed x-parts and lots of problems
Tried to install the CWM upgrade to be able to flash edified files but then it makes stop the CWM to boot at all! Without the upgrade edified files are not flashed, so I can't fix my keyboard layout.... :crying: could any x-parts developer help?

Hmm, I am quite new to this, so maybe that's why I don't know how the partition should help? And then should I install the older version of CWM on it? Why older? I thought I need newer to support edified files?

What do you want to use Rom manager for? I don't need to use it at all..
with xperia phones we never use rom manager. its famous for installing cwm, but because xperia phone got cwm integrated into kernel we just need to flash kernel to get cwm, or installing it using xparts for locked bootloader.
Rom manager is for create backups and put name to backup then your phone reboot in cwm and instantly start your backup process, also does the same whit you restore rom.
Also prepares you phone when you install a zip, only open your zip whit rom manager and this open a windows where you can select if wipe cache partition or wipe data... after this reboot your phone and directly install your zip after install zip yor phone reboot in automatic and you avoid select zip from cwm and press down vol kek to enter to this, etc...
Sorry for my bad english.
Greetings
Use xparts!!!!! Its the best and efficient. Make sure phone is rooted though.

[Q] SK17i problem with CWM Recovery

Hi guys! I had installed CWM Recovery this morning, but after wiping and installing this rom I can't boot in recovery anymore and I don't like this rom..
My phone has locked bootloader. Now, i have this room working, but if I install X-Parts it says that my phone is not supported
Any ideas? I triyng to fix it since 04.00pm and I can't solve it!
Help please
flashing a rom wipes your system partition which wipes your recovery. because you haven't flashed a kernel that includes a recovery. x parts installs recovery mode to your system partition. There's a CWM flashable zip for the recovery in themes and apps section. download it first. You can open that zip and copy the files in to your device. then you can have a recovery.
Remember to flash that zip whenever you flash another rom before exiting recovery mode.
or use this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346190
surprised pervork
Thx both guys but it seems that I get permission denied, I also installed root explorer but I can't get access to system files because of root, but root it's installed!!

Get your phone rooted first by using this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582
X-parts require root to install CWM.
sk17i CWM
Hi all,
After spending 1 week and trying most methods to install CWM on my Xperia x10 sk17i without any success, the only method that worked was downloading and installing CWM auto installer.apk on my phone.
Thank you for all those posting comments on XDA to help others.

You can easily switch stock recovery to cwm with flashify app,No need Odin. Just flash recovery.img with this app & also u can flash custom kernals.
Check this post.....

Just press THANKS.........
Sadly didn't work, it says that my phone didn't pass the compability test so what's now? When i look for it on google play it says "your device isn't compatible with this version" but it installed succefully on my device running originally 2.3.6 with generic kitkat rom in 4.4.2 is there any method to do it in odin at least? Or custom kernel would be better? Answers will be appreciated.
No way to change it, also the risk is extreme i don't wanna brick my device, even i installed a custom kernel from odin, it showed "PASS" and my phone restarted and appeared the samsung logo later it turned off and restarted again and later the screen kept in white and i did need to get back to the old kernel
Anyway flash the stock recovery it's impossible to do.

You know that without cwm recovery u can't flash custom roms & kernals.
Pleas clear that which recovery u want stock recovery or cwm recovery?
And why?
Then I can easily guide or help u.
Best regards.
I want to change stock recovery to cwm recovery. I want cwm permanently no temporal, i know the zip file it's temporal but i want it permanent! I don't know how my phone did install "Compact" kernel with stock recovery and not with cwm i've had to do it that way 'cause odin didn't work and my phone got bricked
Can i install cwm permanent on samsung galaxy young duos? (S6102B)
I'll be very grateful if somebody could explain me!
The reason why i want cwm permanent and why i want it it's because i don't want to enter in recovery and see always the limited stock recovery with just 4 options
