The only difference between the Titan I and Titan II are the camera pixels and LTE Radio. Download the stock Windows Phone 7.8 ROM from Microsoft and use Cab Sender if all else fails.

If we are going by the leaked whitepaper about the release of 7.8...then I expect to get it by March. But realistically... this is ATT we are talking about. There are like 7+ other Windows Phones on ATT...I would be damn surprised if they updated every single device. -And another reason, the Titan 1 had a lifespan on ATT's shelves for about 3 months before the Titan 2 was released. If you do the math...it doesn't give so much optimism.

Has anyone been able to full unlock their phone and also reboot and have the unlock stick without having to reenter the code? I tried unlockthatphone.com and no success. It is always asking me to reeneter every time i reboot and its freaking annoying :/
Yes. I got my code from htcimeiunlock.com.
However I believe people when they say they are experiencing this issue. It seems there truly is a batch of Titans with some issue such that unlock codes don't work the way they should.

I bought the unlock code the a guy on ebay for 1.49 pounds or $2.44USD. Got it under a minute and the unlock code is permanent for my new Titan II
Don't pay the US guy $14 for unlock it !! The code the buy from the UK gave me works fine.

Any of you guys having issues with MMS on your unlocked Titan 2 on T-mobile network? Can't seem to get MMS working.

That's a common 'issue' on all WP7 phones. You need to download a HTC specific app (HTC Apps->Connection Setup) to switch the network profile to T-Mobile.

Bought it from phone.market, the cheapest guy on there ... After I paid via Paypal, I use the little apps in the auction page and input my IMEI and phone #. They just send me the code via SMS within 30 secs.

Then, you are SOL. MMS configuration is not exposed in WP7 and the only ways to change them are either via ADC or specific apps from manufacturer. For carrier locked phones, ADC is typically turned off. That leaves you only one way to configure/switch it.

if you are lucky for getting a code from at&t, would you please advise when you purchased phine? I got mine during the Thanksgiving holiday 2011. When I called, I was told I won't be qualified for a code until the end of september 2012.

No, I called and get the similar answer which is what I expected. Basically all new phones from A&T have so called exclusive period. Typically it is 10-month from the release day. But past experience told me you can typically call in before that. I'd expect Titan unlock code will be available around summer (around july). If you want free unlock code, that's the only way.

I think you're fine, still no update on my unbranded one. Same thing for my gf's 710. Microsoft said that all the phones will have gotten the update within the end of the month, but I guess it was just bs.

That's because the Orange firmware has been approved, O2 one is still waiting to be approved
Im on O2 here in the uk also, got tired of waiting for the update so did it by myself following the link below.

IMPORTANT If You Try the Disconnect Trick..
Make sure your phone has Wifi OFF and Cellular Data OFF before.
I had almost bricked my phone trying to cab Tango since for some reason the language packs would not install; but then installed Navifirm files updated to Tango by renaming another product's code to match mine, and since the language packs were now resolved, I went ahead and cab'd the Nokia firmware update. This weekend with 7.8 on the horizon and perhaps other updates coming sooner (8779?), I didn't want a walshed phone, so got the 8107 Mango files for my product code (059L7C2) from NCS Data Package Manager, refurbished then went back to Zune to do the Tango update.
After many tries, was not having any luck, even though the Nokia site showed my product 059L7C2 as being available, not to mention at least two others with my same product code reporting the disconnect trick working..
Someone else posted on another thread about turning WIFI and DATA off as a first step. Once I did, after one or two tries the update finally came up.
After the first step - installing 8112 - I had to use the same disconnect to get the update for 8773. Again, with the two items turned
off, there was no trouble at all, the update came right up after I pulled the Ethernet cable.
Once 8773 installed, Zune picked up the Nokia firmware update immediately (no disconnect) so I am finally now running Tango.

No news, but I assume quite fast for unlocked phones. Rest are subject to carriers I assume.

Supposed to be able to bypass the carriers. But considering this is the first update pushed, I'm sure we'll learn more soon.

Bypass carriers, yes. Bypass OEMs, no
This should mean that we get a 920 update for each "build" of the 920 that exists, once Nokia does whatever they do to it. They should have it from Microsoft (one would think) already.

They will have it already, and it's in Nokia's interests to get it out fast and ideally beat HTC to the punch every time, as HTC have been set up as Premier Partners. Nokia want to be THE choice for WP8 buyers, so they need to be there first with the best reputation for updates and excellent hardware.
Nokia obviously has that build available because the Lumia 920T (the chinese variant) is already running that newer build of the OS.
true, must just be waiting for the rollout ok from carriers. I'll check my 8X to see if that's updating on EE, that way we should know if the carriers are slowing things down or not with a quick carrier vs unlocked update speed comparison.
(Groan) I hope it's not the carriers. Pulling teeth with oily fingers is easier than persuading AT&T to release updates in a timely manner. :\

how do you know what rom is a generic one? I have been searching but i haven´t find it yet. can you help me'

Adding to that, does 4G still work on the generic UK ROM, as EE has 4G specific software bits, e.g. the 3G/2G toggle is now the 4G/3G toggle.
So, since I have a Rogers branded but unlocked phone and running it on Telus, what bucket would I be put in? Would I get the generic updates or the Rogers? My phone STILL says that the Mobile Operator Name is ROG-CA, so I'm not too sure what to make of my situation.

You will be under the mercy of Rogers. In order to get out of Roger's grip, you will need to be de-branded. SIM unlock means nothing. In the old days of WM7.0, you can jailbreak your phone and edit a registry to de-brand. Now, you pretty much have to flash a unbranded ROM to do it.

Same here. Love my 920, esp with T-Mobile...but it's starting to get irritating. They said the rollout finishes mid-March, which means we are technically still in the time frame they gave. However, I just wish one of the reps I talk with could let me know WHEN or IF they plan on updating the developer version. If not, I think I'm going to flash it to Rogers (or sell it and buy an ATT version when they become unlockable).

I don't think the Att versions will work on T-Mobile, and there's no way in hell I would ever be on Att. Our phone should have been the first ones upgraded since they were the first ones released.

Hey guys,
I have an unlocked AT&T Nokia Lumia 920 that I am using with a different carrier at the moment. I am still on Windows Phone 8 software and it says there are no updates at this time when I try to update the phone. Can I update it to Amber? Is there an Amber around that works with USA ATT Lumia 920?
Please help me out if you know, I see a lot of threads saying update to Amber but is this for like Europe phones or?
Please include a link if you have one for me to update it the right way.
Appreciate it all, thanks.
Amber has not been released for ATT devices yet. They still have to make their official ATT changes and bloatware before they will release for their devices.

That is not Amber though and is not supposed to be used by Average Joe Consumer. I suspect someday ATT or Nokia will send a bullet out that will kill all phones running Dev ROMS and are not registered as Dev phones. Dev ROMS allow people to get around certain parts of the system.

It is taking much longer than any other update. I think that they might be skipping GDR2 and going right to GDR3 which is going to be announced with the 1520/whatever they call it towards the end of this month.
