I've searched the forums and come up empty handed. When I have my Nexus7 tethered to my HOX+ shortly after the screen turns off data stops. The WiFi connection between the 2 stays connected but you can't navigate to another page for example. However, as soon as I turn the screen back on on the HOX+ data continues to work. I know it's not specific to the Nexus7 as well because I've had friends tether their devices to it playing Ingress and if my screen is off they lose data. Suggestions?

Are you stock rooted as well? I'm thinking it may be a power saving feature in the stock kernel. I may check out some custom kernels or roms and see if I get the same result.

I have the same problem even with power saver off. I'm on elegancia Rom 4.2.0

Turn on the developer option...
Stay Awake - when plugged in to computer..or charging.
This will only work when I have the device plugged into an outlet though unless the device believes a wireless tether follow the same rules as a wired one.

I posted that becuasw he's talking about keeping screen on or off. When its plugged in you charge while sending out a connection while keeping the screen on.

I really just need something that will change a state on the Tablet when my ignition starts. This will allow me to trigger a tasker event to power on screen and resume music/video playback

Hi, I got the HTC one X+ from At&t today and every time I try to use it it gets really hot, even when not using its still warm. This hapened to the HTC one X international when I had it like 6 months ago so I returned it. And now I wanted to give another try to HTC and still the same problem. I had lot of phones from Nexus one to last one Galaxy note 2 none of them had this overheating issues. The phone gets hot and the battery drains very fast.
Anyone have same kinds of issue?

Do you have some objective numbers for hot and warm in Fahrenheit or Celsius? Everything else is pretty subjective and what is hot for you is maybe warm for me
It gets "warm" pretty fast but what do you expect from a quad-core in a small shell "overclocked" to 1.7Ghz. I think it is similar to the GSII.

Haven't they redesigned the wifi antenna for the Hox+? I remember that I read something like that? Hopefully it is not affected by too much heat.

48C is within tolerance. 60+ is danger zone and I would suggest shutting off the device and letting it cool if it gets there.
This device doesn't have the wifi issues, I've confirmed it multiple times.
Don`t worry, the phone automatically turns itself off when it overheats and will only turn back on once it has cooled sufficiently, no risk whatsoever, the tegra soc was purposely engineered to hit its maximum thermal limit.
Get hot, yes. Overheat no.
Lol soon we might be buying heatsinks for our phones.

But the problem is, it looses a lot of battery if it is getting so hot. Is there a possibility that this can be fixed with a software update?

Yes, this is true. If something is using a lot of power and putting out a lot of heat, the battery will get used. What do you want us to tell you?
The best option is custom kernels and underclock/undervolt. Tegra 3 is a pile of crap but it's the only way to ensure that the One X+ didn't become a vastly different device compared to the One X.
It seems like whenever I'm playing game, even just a simple running game the battery seems get to excessively hot. When I have the phone charging and playing a game it can get upwards of 119f. Is there something that I'm missing?

I understand that but by that notion the phone is unusable while charging for any intense application. I previously had a vivid and was able to play intense games while on the charger until the battery was full and temp never topped 100f. Now I play some simple running game for 15 minutes while charging and my battery is at 119f.

Edit:
FIrst off, I will say that I have ALWAYS had the box unticked which said "Data Connection: put to sleep when screen is off"
I have now for the past few hours experimented with ticking it. Wifi does not appear to be going to sleep with this option ticked
I am a native English speaker, and I must say that the way this is not written clearly. What it must mean is it puts the phone modem to sleep with the screen off but not the wifi. So therefore, when the box is unticked the phone modem must have priority (a guess)
HTC have really made this option unclear. I will continue to tick the box and report back if there are any more issues but this counter-intuitive box appears to be working.
Never mind, I still have the problem.
Wifi still turns off with screen constantly whether the box is ticked or not.
Anyone else?

Plugged in my phone to charge last night and woke up this morning and unplugged it. I noticed green LED was not turning off even after unplugging but figured it'd just go away. Drove to work and it was still on so I decided to restart to see if that fixed it. Well, now it WONT TURN ON! Ive held the power button down for about 60 seconds, tried power+up/down volume rocker and am getting no results. If I plug the phone in to my usb on my computer, the LED does not turn on either. Any suggestions? I think i may have to make a trip down to the ATT store today
Vol up and power 15 seconds. Cannot be plugged in.

Wanted to update, had to go to ATT and they declared the phone DOA. They seemed to think there was a surge when I was charging it. I was using the OEM charger and everything. Was two days out of the return period but they were awesome and gave me a brand new device anyway. This is the first time this has happened with any phone ive owned (that I havent dropped/soaked). Really hope this one lasts because it's beautiful!

That might be the reason.... Same thing happened with me while back with my HTC sensation. after installing a custom kernel, I woke up in the morning and my phone was completely dead, no charge led , no vol+ -. Nothing. I took the battery out for 10 minutes and then the phones worked again. After one hour it dead again. So I had to install stock ruu again.

Is your phone was rooted too?
Yes, but that has nothing to do with this. Bad hardware, period. It happens. It was acting a little funny prior to it dying. When I would leave my microcell, it would not connect back to ATT towers without hitting airplane mode or a reboot. WiFi signal seemed a little weak also. New one is fine.
