[Q] Accidentally Flashed to "Phone" Instead of "PDA" in Odin - Bricked - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

[Q] Accidentally Flashed to "Phone" Instead of "PDA" in Odin - Bricked
I was flashing the original unrooted TouchWiz ROM back to my phone, but accidentally put it in the "Phone" instead of "PDA" slot. Now the phone only says "Firmware update failed" and in Odin flashing a ROM to PDA also fails.
So I need a "Phone" ROM for the SCH-i605. Where can I get this? Please help. Thank you.

Re: [Q] Accidentally Flashed to "Phone" Instead of "PDA" in Odin - Bricked
Weres it falling in Odin now? What step or error messages. If it's sboot you need the alternate restore root66 file.

Did you unlock your bootloader, and is it that new one that recently came out?

Re: [Q] Accidentally Flashed to "Phone" Instead of "PDA" in Odin - Bricked
Use the alternate restore from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35265728
I'm gonna bet you are on the latest ota with a locked boot loader. Which is why it's failing at sboot

I am using a locked bootloader, and the last ROM I had installed was the official original ROM from Samsung. My next step was to unlock the bootloader, but this happened first...

The file I am flashing to 'PDA' is the one from that post, but it fails. Don't I need to flash something onto 'Phone'? Also what is 'Phone'?

Your not flashing the alternate restore file I linked or it would not be writing sboot

I just redownloaded that file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35265728 (one one that says Download Me and not Mirror 1 or 2) and it still fails at sboot.bin
Edit: I'm an idiot. I read your post wrong. I thought you meant that the link was an alternate way to restore, not to use the file called Alternate Restore. I'll go download that now.

Yeah, I apologize for that. I noticed it right after I posted my reply, but had to wait five minutes before it let me post my update, in which time you had already responded. As my edit says, I misinterpreted what you had said. 2/3 done downloading it now.

Oh great, the download died literally on the last megabyte. It said disconnected from the server, and I couldn't get it to reconnect...
So now it's time to re-download the ENTIRE file for the last piece of the very last megabyte...

Okay, I flashed it and it's all working. Do I still need to unlock the bootloader, or did that ROM do it for me?

Okay, following this guide: http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-note-2-tutorials/how-to-unlock-bootloader-on-verizon-galaxy-note-2-sch-i605/

Okay, thank you so much for everything. I got it all running with the unlocked bootloader, and now I'm running CyanogenMod! I guess it didn't hurt anything to flash to Phone.

Does anyone have DI01package3.tar.md5?

I had a similar problem to you, with the package3 file; try the files linked to here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10711126&postcount=315
Namely, try flashing the Stock-i500-VZW-System.tar.md5 file via ODIN's PDA.
Follow the instructions on the first page of that thread; it should get you to a stock (as far as I can tell, anyway) DI01.

I'm bricked again... lol... ='(

I know several of you guys will be loling at me here...
Everything was working fine until I tried to flash Siyah Siyah 4.1.5. I went into normal recovery mode (Not using Rom Manager) and used a kernel cleaning script then flashed the zip for Siyah. Rebooted and couldn't get past the AOKP loading screen. I tried using I777UCKH7 OCD With Root.exe but it wouldn't work. Everything else I've tried to flash has failed.
After doing some research I found out that my bootloaders may have been messed up with some previous crap I did. I can only get into download mode and it states Product Name: GT-i9100.
I tried to flash the I777UCKH7-CL503881-Full.exe but every attempt gets stuck on <ID:0/003> Sbl.bin.

First thing I would try, go to the Download Repository and flash the sbl.bin only. If successful, then try the stock again. You may or may not need to flash the param.lfs separately as well.

You need to create your own thread and describe in detail :
Can you get to Download Mode?
Can you get into Recovery? If so, custom (version>) or stock?
What version of the software / firmware WERE you on?
What did you do to cause it to soft brick?
What versions of the software / firmware have you tried?
Why were you trying different PIT files??
What errors are you having?

Thanks in advance for the help!
Can you get to Download Mode?
yes
Can you get into Recovery? If so, custom (version>) or stock?
yes. I just flashed twp on it.
What version of the software / firmware WERE you on?
I was on 4.4.2 from tmobile stock but it was rooted.
What did you do to cause it to soft brick?
I have been getting prompted for an OTA update for a while and kept putting it off. let my wife use my phone and she clicked approve for the update. The phone then rebooted and never booted back up. I originally thought it was a knox issue but after trying a few different recovery methods, all my errors seem to be directed to the PIT. I am currently downloading the Samsung firmware for 4.4.4 from the Samsung website to try sending over to the phone from odin.
Model: SGH-M919
Model name: GALAXY S4
Country: USA (T-Mobile)
PDA: M919UVUFNH7
What versions of the software / firmware have you tried?
4.2.2, 4.4.2, about to try 4.4.4 when it finishes downloading.
Why were you trying different PIT files??
because the current error is "secure check fail: PIT"
What errors are you having?
from which location? odin or the device?
from the device:
secure check fail: PIT
from odin:
big red FAIL in the first box. message output is below.

Hi there,
Where are you downloading the firmware files from? Is it from a reliable source? Did your phone have enough power to complete the flash? What about a different computer?

I did try that guide, and I got past the usual factoryfs.img but my phones battery discharged, and when I charged it, I still get FAIL at factoryfs.img

EFS problem

Hi. I have S6 edge SM-G925F. I tried to flash custom rom,but i didn't backup EFS files. And now as you can guess, i don't have signal. I tried to flash stock firmware with odin but i got error. How can i make EFS work again? Download from somewhere and flash it? If yes, would you share it?

What error did you get flashing stock in odin?
I dont think anybody will share there efs backup.. as you will end up with there imei, which means cloned imei, also its illegal to do that in some countrys.
Best way is to flash the same stock you had before.

Download the pit file from the link.
In odin click ap and insert the firmware again. The one you just used G925FXXU4DPGW.
click PIT and insert the pit file from the link. In options you need to check re partition and auto reboot.
Flash and that will fix the hidden.img
I was on android 6.0.1 August 1 st security patch. Im from Bulgaria so region should be Europe.

Did you try to flash the firmware with the PIT?
Try this if pit didn't work ...
Extract the firmware , rename hidden.img to hidden.img.tar
Now flash hidden.img.tar in AP with Odin
BTW : it is possible you have to restart your phone in download mode after flashing the firmware to flash the hidden.img.tar after it
Good luck
