With beans build 8 and now 9 I am having issues with cameras both 4.1 and 4.2 version not saving photos. I check permissions with root explorer to see it is set and keeps reverting back r/o. I change it to r/w and after a few minutes it fails to save photos again and reverts back to r/o. Can anyone advise what they think my problem is? Thank you

The same issue ( running SentinelRom on SGI9305 )
Did you fix Permissions?
I believe it needs to be.....
RW- R-- R--
Or
XX□
X□□
X□□
In the app permissions chart in any root level explorer....
And then reboot.....

For the stock camera to work, you need to be on a stock ROM btw
Hello all
First of all sorry if this question has been asked. Usually I can find my answers myself by searching but can't this time. First of all I'm using d3rpICS_DRAMA_DM2. Last I was playing with the leedroid tweaks under the profiles settings. I switched it to sense 3.6. Now since I did that I keep getting a popup every 30 seconds or so saying system ui has stopped. I hit ok and it let's me continue what I was doing. I finally found the rom I liked and got my phone set up how I like so I'm wondering if there is a way to fix it or do I just have to flash again.

My first guess would be that the SystemUI.apk has the wrong permissions.
Either use the "Fix Permissions" in LeeDroid tweaks or do it by going into recovery and use Fix Permissions from there.
Or, if you know how, you can do it manually for just the SystemUI.apk and go into the /system/apps/ folder with Root Explorer or equivalent and chance the permissions to rw-r--r--
Be sure to reboot (i personally do a cold boot each time i mess with system files, meaning i shut it off, remove battery and then put it back together and boot up) after each time you fix permissions.
If that doesn't work, try and open the ROM.zip file with WinZip or similar and manually copy the SystemUI.apk (and SystemUI.odex if the rom is odex) from the .zip to the /system/apps/ folder. This is incase the SystemUI file(s) were somehow damaged/corrupted when flashed (very very unlikely, but can happen).

I did do the reboot with the battery out. I'm gonna try that other stuff you suggested. I'll get back to ya. Thanks for the help.

The topic is old, but I have the same problem. It happened suddenly two days ago and randomly I get the message. I have to press "OK", then the status bar restarts after few seconds.
I have yoda ICS v8 S-off.
Here's a log-cat, if it can help
I know this is probably a dumb question but I've been googling all over and can't find what I'm looking for >.<.
I want to install Resurrection Remix JB v3.0.2 on my S2 and change the DPI to 160. On previous versions of that room I would do that then simply copy a phone.apk file that I got from one of RR's FAQ and that would be it but that doesn't seem to work on the new JellyBean version.
I replace the phone.apk file with the one I used to use for 160DPI copying it into /system/app then check to make sure the permissions are the same and reboot the phone. As soon as it boots back up I get a FC for android.phone and the message keeps popping back up over and over again. Tried doing a fix permission on the recovery and it's the same result.
Any idea of what I'm doing wrong or what I can use to fix it?.
Thanks.

I'm running cm 10.1 rc2. I went ahead and changed the MMS.apk because I prefer the black theme or the stock white/grey. I overwrited the current mms.apk located in system/apps/ and changed the permissions to match the other apks in this folder. After I rebooted and noticed the icon for the mms on my homescreen dock was gone. I added it back through the app drawer. I then went ahead and did the same with the contacts.apk after changing the permissions I noticed both the contacts/phone icons were gone from the dock. I rebooted as usual and replaced the missing contact icon.
Now here is the issue the phone icon isn't located in my app drawer. I went to make sure it was still installed and in the system/apps/ and it was. I didn't touch this file at all. I tried to access the dialer through my lockscreen shortcut when I highlighted it nothing happened it just unlocked my phone. I'm unsure how to get my dialer to work and the icon back.
reinstall
I think you can use Root Explorer, go system/app/ then install file Dialer.apk.

Good for you!
Please add [SOLVED] to the title of your post then.
Hello everyone, I unlocked my phone's bootloader and flashed Pixel Experience ROM. Everything works fine except earpiece when I'm calling someone. I tested the earpiece with some apps from playstore and realized that the volume is very very low when compared to stock rom. I cleaned the grill, flashed another rom (havoc os) but the issue still persists. Naturally, I googled the issue and there were many more mi phones having this issue. It's said that miui 12 may bring a fix for this. I explored and saw people were editing "Mixer_paths.xml" files for increased volume. Now the problem here is that I think Android 10 has new permission restrictions for /system because I can't edit the file. I'm very new to this phone so if you guys have had this problem can you please help me out on how to solve this? Or you could also recommend some other rom that doesn't have this issue. TIA!
I fixed it by myself. I installed "Root Browser" by Jrummy and went into root/system/vendor/etc/mixer_paths.xml
There are 3-4 mixer files and you have to edit all for it to work.
First change the permissions to rw-rw-rw for all 3-4 files and search for "Volume Control". Change all 84 values to 94. Now change permissions back to what they originally were rw-r--r--
Reboot and enjoy!
Hi, I have a similar problem on my redmi note 9 pro, but my ROM are the original miui12.5.8.0.
I installed Root Browser, but I can't save the changes... Could you help me?I don't know how to change the permission, wen i try to change, i have no permission info.
Thanks
