I got a Vibrant as a gift from my relative (he recently bought a Tab), and i can't erase the data (gallery, his gmail account).
I have done everything that i know, from factory reset to wipe data from recovery mode. Well, i even downgrade the firmware to the stock UVJFD, but no matter how hard i try, everytime i restart the phone, the data will always restored. the applications i installed are also gone it's like the phone create some restore point that resets whenever it gets rebooted.
I'm not living in US, so i guess i can't get support from T-mobile
please help.. and excuse me for my bad english ^^
settings>sd & phone storage>unmount phone storage>format will erase everything
if you want to format the microsd..its there too, but you will lose Avatar if you do..

i't didn't work the pictures and gmail account is still there
there are 2 storages there ..one says sd card and the other says phone storage ...you unmounted the one under phone storage and hit format??? because there should be like 3 folders left after that..
i unmounted and formatted both the phone and sdcard storage.. to no effect.. flashing new firmware didn't help either..
hmmm.. yep.. beyond me then .. works for me every time so you might need someone with a little more knowledge.
getting hopeless

All you have left then is to root and install a custom rom. That will fix the issue for sure or odin back to stock.
Dialing *2767*3855# will do a hard reset. That may help.

The problem is right there, I even could not do "re-install package" in the recovery mode because all data I kept in the internal sdcard will always be vanished if I reboot the phone,, I tried to mount the internal sdcard in the PC, then format the drive. It can be formatted, but after I rebooted the phone all the previous data come back. That's the problem

Sounds like you need to get cwm recovery on there and format sdcards internal and external then reflash with Odin just to be safe

it'll see...what u did do before your problem..?..maybe corrupted sd card, bad partition, corrupted script app2sd..too many things with your problem
explaination
If I reflash the rom, then I will lose my all apps and games.I want to make backup first ,but no option for such things.
sd card is not corrupted.no partition made,so,no app2sd.I had just moved my installed applications on sd card.

hello
I have been trying to use some roms like SGSII Based on 2.3.6 for example, have done the dalvik cache wipe and a data/factory reset, and succesfuly instaled the rom, but it takes forever to complete the media scannig, and got stucked at 67%.
Any ideas whats the problem? faulty sd maybe?
thank you!

Hi there.
Has anyone succeeded with the issue that the media scanner gets stuck in the Galaxy Ace? I had this problem for long and don't know what to do. Basically my phone can read up to the SD card size of pictures and other data, but when I pack .mp3 files onto the SD card the scanner gets stuck anywhere between 60 and 75% and never completes...
It is not the SD card as I swapped them over to other phones and used different SD cards for mine....
Any advice would be highly appreciated
Thanks
Stefan

Maybe it is the SD card itself or some app u installed...
Do you use any Task Killer?
I got this kind of problem on stock rom when I used GoBattery and push "Kill task" while media scanning was on.

What is the exact warning you get? Even though the internal memory is 10.x GB, the memory allotted for apps is only 2 GB by default. May be that memory is almost full. Try uninstalling some applications.
thats what i get and it just appear when i restart my device

Hi all,
I updated my honor 5x today to 6.0.1 through official OTA (KIW-L24). My phone is in factory condition (not rooting or boot loader unlock). For some reason, it shows that I have only 2 GB internal storage and it was supposed to be 16 GB (it showed 16GB before update as well). The "About Phone" screen shows 16 GB internal memory but the "Memory and Storage" screen shows only 2 GB and I cannot save anything to internal storage anymore. I have attached a screenshot of this.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
TIA.
Same problem
I had the exact same problem. I fixed it by clearing the cache and wiping the phone multiple times in the bootloader. (I think that is what it is called) Needless to say, I was not happy when this happened. The update not only reset my phone it also truncated the space to 2 gigabytes. I tried to download the image and apply from the sdcard but nothing would see it. And of course, I had no where near enough space on the internal drive even after removing all apps.
