I am not new to any of this, but I am having a problem. VZW is sending me an Incredible, so I need to unroot. I used 2 different methods, both of which failed. Can someone please give me a hand or link me to some other options?
These are the methods I have tried:

and
http://www.droid-eris.com/tutorials-corner/%28tutorial%29-how-to-unroot-your-droid-eris/
Perhaps you could state what problem you experienced when you tried using the Flashback21 ROM; the only thing that it requires is the Amon_RA recovery (Clockwork is not supported). Other than that, it should flash like any other ROM.
You might also want to mention what the exact bootloader version you have on your phone, whether or not you can use your trackball (for up/down/press actions) without too much trouble.

I do have amon-ra recovery. When I flashed it aborted. The error message states a corrupt file. My phone is rebooting now. I am going to reflash to tell you the exact corrupt file. Give me a minute?

Did you try re-downloading the file at all?
E: corrupt file: system/framework/com.htc.resources.apk
E: verification failed.
I am redownloading now. I thought of that a few minutes ago.
Yes, I have full use of the track ball. I don't know what bootloader version I have, and it is rebooting again, so I can't check right now...
Thank you for trying to help!

bad download or you corrupted it when you transfered it from your pc.
Use AFV the from the market to verify the checksum of the zip file on the SD card.
When you transfer large files from the PC you always always need to perform a "safely remove hardware" before you unmount from the Eris or remove the USB cable.

+1 bftb0 helped me figure out my first bricked eris was fubar, more importantly helped me understand why, so the next time I had a soft brick I had taken the preemptive steps necessary to save it. Thanks bftb0
This is making me crazy!
Another corrupt file: system/framework/framework.odex
I did safely remove hardware, and this download was done on IE instead of FF.
I am going to keep trying until I get this done.

Hey I saw the post about the thanks cherry... that made me giggle on the inside a little...
ETA: I am a dirty lurker...
Try flashing a different custom ROM, possible your recovery has become corrupted. If flashing another ROM doesn't work reinstall AmonRA and try FlashBack again. If it does work, I'd try FlashBack again, just for ****s and giggles.
Hey do I need the radio image? I can try downloading the one without the radio image...

You know, I tried flashing nonsensikal 15.2 a couple days ago, and I kept getting a corrupt file error with that as well.
Maybe my recovery IS corrupted!
This is insane.

Do I have to uninstall my old version of amon-ra before I reinstall?

Uh, I know you are in a hurry, but ...
It is impossible for Amon_RA to install a corrupted ROM file.
Read that again: It is impossible for Amon_RA to install a corrupted ROM file.
If it passes the verification step in Amon_RA, then the ROM .zip file is OK
Now, if something fails during the install, then there are three possible causes:
- The SD card is flaky, and file reads are erratic (which could allow the verification pass in Amon_RA to succeed, but the subsequent read to fail).
- Prior operations on the phone have corrupted one or more partitions on the phone so that insufficient space remains in the partition you are writing to.
- Flaky hardware.
Does the error with the specific file you mentioned happened during verification or afterwards during the install process?
bftb0
BTW, there are two different "1.49.nnnn" bootloaders - you need to be precise.

Not unless you have flashed a new radio at some point, and I would recommend avoiding that. I've lost recovery twice, one of the times I was able to just use jcase's 1 Click Eris Root and the other time I had to reflash the recovery, try the 1 Click first, I need to research the procedure for a Terminal Emulator flash again, last time I used FastBoot instead.
Nevermind, I'd follow bftb0, he's far wiser, and I was doing some rather whimsical stuff with my phone and KGB when I lost my recovery.
Hello all,
I have accidently flashed my nexus s with a 4G rom... I know stupid me.
Now I cannot get service and baseband .
I cannot seem to fix it. Does somebody have a tip? I hope so cuz I dont wanna be buying a new phoney.
Thnx in advance!
Just restore a backup on the recovery. Or, if you didn't do a backup (please tell me i'm wrong), download the right ROM, copy it to your phone, WIPE everything and flash it
Well I tried that but the backup gives an MD5 error . And I cannot find a clean rom I do need now. All the ones I tried gave an error in CWM error 7 or something.

I see. Well, your backup is corrupted, we can't do anything for it.
But, go to your Nexus S section in XDA, download one and see if the MD5 match. Then if it's ok, try to flash it : )
FYI, i don't have a nexus, so, i'm not a professional of it but... a rom for a 4G phone if you only have a 3G phone will boot up normally but give problem with GSM and data connection. So that's weird.
Try again with a ROM that you download now and match the MD5. And then, if error still here, we must a Nexus S owner to help you
I will try so when i get back from work. I really hope I can get it to work. The phone boots normally but wont ask for my pin and that stuff. How do I check the MD5 if I may ask?

http://www.commentcamarche.net/download/telecharger-34058173-md5-checksum with this programm for windows.
You put the rom in, it shows the MD5. Then look on the topic where you downloaded the ROM and see if it's the same. If md5 is not written in the topic, ask for it
Also I forgot to mention that when I tried to flash to a NS mod i got an error 7 or something in CWM
please help whenever i try to flash this rom with twrp 2.3.1 i gives me th error zip could not be opened. i have followed devs instuctions very carefully with no luck. when i look at the rom in a file manager on my phone i shows there is nothing in the directory but when i open up a dirent version or diffent sence rom it is full of system files. please help! also i am pretty sure this is not a twrp problem
i just flashed that rom again today with no problems..its not the rom..

did you compare the md5 to the md5 of your downloaded zip? also make sure you have signature checking disabled.
and the titanium backup issue, what rom are you coming from that you are trying to restore data from?
Also, these questions would bbe easier for us to find and answered if they were posted in the ROM thread.
I just checked the md5 sums and they did not match what can I do about that

Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Hey guys,
I rooted with an AIO tool. Everything went smoothly except for the fact that I cannot flash roms or any zip file without it failing due to signature verification. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!
Probably either bad downloads or you are downloading ROMs for the wrong phone.

The downloads are fine and I used the Verizon all in one tool posted on the forum. I even ran the tool again and it still will fail when trying to flash anything.

Thanks bhp090808 for the awesome tool! This corrected the issue. I have no explanation but I guess twrp did not want to play nice.
Today, I tried to flash Project Infinity on my 900T and after doing so, I am stuck in a boot loop. I tried to format /system and re installing but that led to no success. Any help?
may be bad download? did u checksum? try redownload and select stock kernel see how it goes.

Well I eventually got it to work but when I booted it, things were really buggy and I really couldn't do anything. When I would go through the initial setup of the Project Infinity ROM, there would be a constant error message like: "com.systemui has stopped" and everything was unresponsive. So I flashed the stock ROM and i'm back to vanilla touchwiz.
Also, what is checksum?

I found a way, but the developer doesn't provide a md5 checksum so i'm lost there. Do you think using a different recovery will help?
